I bought a Zoe in November 2020, ( just before the EuroNCap report came out). It is used as a second car so mostly around town/suburban driving. My model is a R135 GT line, it is my first fully electric car, I also have a PHEV and I have owned a number of hybrids. Overall I am very impressed, because of the computer chip shortage I went for a car which was available relatively quickly otherwise I would have specified electrically heated seats, my car does have AEB. The key decision point for me was range, it had to be able to travel from where I live to central London without recharging on the way, including with the heating/aircon on, at night, with luggage plus another passenger, the route is dual carriageway plus motorway, so has to travel at the speed limit.Distance is 115 miles, so with those conditions unlikely the other small cars eg Mini electric would make it on one charge.
It's too bad these are not available in the US. I have a 2016 Kia Soul EV+ with a similar 0 to 60 time and you're right: Although it's not necessarily that fast, it FEELS much quicker than it is because the response is instantaneous. It has gotten me out of near misses several times. Driving in traffic is a real pleasure, no doubt.
@@JustWasted3HoursHere hahaha, no, not at all 😂. It got the stars because the facelift of the car got worse airbag safety than the original one. And that’s just not done according to Euro NCAP, there should always be improvements with new versions. The original ZOE actually got a very good NCAP score.
@@JustWasted3HoursHere They actually have a very nice report on it, with detailed safety scores. It is not that great overall either I guess... www.euroncap.com/en/results/renault/zoe/44206
I had never driven a battery electric car before until I took a test drive in a Fiat 500e last month and I liked it so much I immediately placed an order. The combination of instant torque and one-pedal driving makes it very relaxing.
@@briangriffiths114 I am driving one of those right now, love it! A lot more premium than the previous 'new' Fiat 500 and a lot faster than I expected! POV drive online soon! ✌️😄
Front wheel drive does not mean wheel spin in wet , poor driver , rear wheel spin for this poor driver would be much more likely and dangerous. May be reading the manual and not looking for buttons on the move would help.
The Fiat 500e is way better, despite being a rival of this Renault Zoe. It’s more comfortable to drive and it’s a lot safer (earning 4 stars) than this hunk of junk.

I love the Zoe. It really is a shame it got ‘the score’…
Thank you very much. You work under hard climatic conditions
Haha, thanks! Long live the winter! ✌️😄
Ur too underrated. Ur telling everything about the car, which is really nice and informating

Thanks for watching & sharing! Small chance they will want to market a 0 Euro star car in the US.
@@johnnypovdrives Oh yeah, there's that! Does it just crumple into tissue paper during a collision? Why zero stars?

We are on our 2nd Zoe and our 5th BEV, really lovely car, most underrated with more room than a Kona. Our Zoe matches our VW ID. 3+ for range.
Yow Waterloo. Ik vind da zo tof da gij zo sarcastisch bent👍
Thanks! 👊😄
Wow great electric car :) Thanks for the review question : is this an typical electric car?
Yes, small, but totally typical :)

What are the alternatives of the Zoe (small EV's), mainly for city driving? Honda E & the BMW i3 ?
That's right. And also the CUPRA Born / Volkswagen ID.3 or Peugeot e-208.
Zoe is old-school ev but the price would help BUT e.g. in Czechia the Zoe costs the same like Citroen C4-e 50kwh or Kona 40kwh which is ridiculous :-)

Doesn't anyone talk on these bloody car reviews any more what is the point of a review if you are only showing the car poor job very poor
