I really like the Ioniq 6, but the test results don't seem to match up with the potential damage we see in the cabin. 97% seems relatively high considering some of these other cars have airbags that deploy all around the cabin to prevent heads going through the window even for passengers.

The batteries can catch fire, but you’d have to abuse it or damage it a ton in order for that to happen. Nonetheless, I believe they are safer than ICE cars because of the weight of the vehicle preventing it from flying through the air like a ball and the fact they’re less likely to catch fire.

@@CellPhonzRockEnterprises Yes you are totally right, I expressed myself badly at first, car batteries can catch fire, but new cars are really very safe because it almost never happens.
Critics of the electric car say that electric cars are exploding, the first electric car marketed had this problem, the first generation of Tesla model S could catch fire after an accident, but it was more than 10 years ago, today research and technology has evolved so much that the risk of fire is extremely rare!

I'm really impressed how fast those airbags deploy. Deployed in 2 camera frames on average. Then they deflate pretty quick. You don't want to get burnt from a burning hot airbag against you. I was impressed those expensive Porsche cars were tested. Good of Porsche to donate those cars. It's worth the loss to get a good safety rating. For all these brands/models tested. An above average safety rating will sell more cars.
Yeah I was baited with the thumbnail pic of the Cybertruck.
Closing comment. These tests are all about passenger protection and were done with, (I would describe it), a dry car. So there was no chance of batteries getting damaged resulting in an electrical fire. That kind of testing is someone else's job.

I guess that 50% offset must be a Chiense standard on its own then. I thought it was copied from the west where they have two car weight within 90 lbs of each other's curb weight going headone on 50% offset at 40mph. which is more realistic because most car crashes don't drive into a building or some metal boxes but to other cars on the road, and they can survive a car within the same class then they have at least some degrees of extra for a heavier vehicle.

Czy to prawda że te testy są bez baterii robione i zastępują je takim samym ciężarem?

Evidence would dispute that - a lot of these 5 star rated cars have full sunroofs which cause no issues in the crash tests.

How much for the sexy BYD Seal ? 47K How much for options ? no options, everything included.
How much for the ugly Mercedes EQB ? 47K How much for options ? 47K nothing included.

There is a difference - more people have jobs just to create those options- and wealthy family can only buy it - showing status - Mercedes is Mercedes - it doesn't matter how much it costs - it's past and future icon- no one can beat it
