Byd Dolphin and byd seal both got the highest Euro NCAP safety ratings for their car size class in recent tests. Atto 3 got a 5 star rating the year before. LFP blade batteries do not catch fire.
Also did you see the integrity of the structural battery where they perform the side crash test, this test is performed on the driver side in the official test. But BYD does it on both sides then the workers pull the battery out put it in another car and drive off with the battery in another car.
I'm impressed with the safety performance of these Chinese cars. Coupled with the jaw dropping prices, it makes a fantastic buy!

I have seen they drop the full size container on car, let car head down free fall 35meters, roll the car down the hills et al crazy stuff, now I am not doubt of their safety. Oh forgot to mention my BYD stopped 3 accident happening already.

@@christpoke1922 Yes, two side collision one front back collision. The steering wheel locked for the side collision and breaks applied quickly to stop hit the front car.
I have been a VW, MB, Honda and Toyota person currently owning a FJ Cruiser but my next buy will be a Tank, thoroughly impressed with the progress made by China and its technology.
So you own an FJ Cruiser, you don’t mind driving Hideously Ugly cars then.

I am a Chinese and I have always been a fan of Volkswagen. I have exchanged two Volkswagen cars, but recently I bought a BYD electric car, and it is really no worse to drive than foreign cars. In the past, the safety of Chinese-made cars was indeed very poor and they were criticized by foreigners. But in recent years, Chinese-made cars have made leaps and bounds in performance in all aspects, including safety.

@Youcar & Euro NACP. Question, why are the front seats placed unusually close to the dashboard giving a seemingly unrealistic test scenario for the dummies, notably those in the back which would otherwise collide with the front seats?
All of tested Chinese vehicles in 2022 and 2023 are safer than any PSA EMP2 vehicles.
Really shameful from Stellantis, when adult protection cannot even reach 80%. In the crash footage, the driver moved too much suggesting that the crumple zone is not as effective as rivals.

Why is this even a question? If their cars don't pass crash test standards, they can't sell them. So the ones you see in showrooms outside China have obviously passed.
The standard have rating. Most of these seem like 4-5 stars. Many cars for sale from old makers such as GM, Stellantis aka Chrysler and Fiat, Ford, Toyota have 1-2 stars ratings

Why didn't they put in a side mobile barrier for the passenger as well for the Chery Omoda 5? How would the passenger be protected if the accident is from the side of the passenger rather than from the side of the driver?
Well if you can see them in showrooms outside of china, they obviously passed ncap. That's simple.

@@GlowBoyGamer I've seen the BYD Seal which looks great and more specially for being an electric car, it has 5 star Euro NCAP, 6 years guarantee and good price tag.

@@sergiostube in the Chinese market at least NIO will sometimes ring you up after downloading the app thinking you’re interesting in buying a car but I think that only happens once after downloading the app because I have still yet to pair my phone key to it yet. The range consumption on the older base model ES6 is not perfect, as it burnt off 20% charge on a 1 hour run from around 98% to 78% with an average speed of 130kmh. The car also depreciates kinda fast, as it was 300k+ RMB new but it only costs like 250k+ RMB now I think.
Reliability I can’t give you a full judgement since it’s in another province right now but I’d reckon it’s not too bad and the overall exterior and interior build quality is holding up nicely, frankly it creaks less inside than on a brand new 2023 GLE our relative has which is around 2 years younger than our NIO

When you said "buy ready-made solution", aren't that also applied to traditional fuel car as well ? So with your logic, Chinese traditional fuel car would be as good as EV and yet it dosen't.

I like Chinese Ev cars there more cheaper than the American counter part Ev...but that's the worse decision I made in my entire life... I bought BYD dolphin I have problems with the battery failed to start couple of times....I contact the insurance and dealership, this gave me trouble and headache....lesson learned I WILL NEVER BUY CHINESE EV CAR AGAIN....
What happened? No one can fix it locally? Can they just give you another car for temporary use?

Well all cars in NCAP are tested with the same speed. Cant complain.
The reason being even if we are travelling at 100kmph if a normal human being see's a wall we are going to apply breaks and by the time we crash (crash test is not conducted for people sleeping and driving its conducted for the vast majority who are awake while driving) we would be at 30-40kmph. However to balance the kinetic energy the test is conducted at 50kmph
So you expect them to test at 150kmph? Maybe you are not legal to drive then
