I don't think there is a pitcher today who brings the fear that Unit did in his prime. Maybe Chris Sale from 10 years ago is a kind of close comp. As good as Sale was, RJ was much MUCH better.
A monster of a pitcher and hell if a legend/HOF talking about generational matchups with himself, with such humility, is a breath of fresh air. Miss the big unit.
HAHAHA that is so true for me too. And I’ve known who he was ever since I was a little kid and would catch some baseball on tv. And I don’t ever remember him speaking LOL.
Favorite pitcher of all time along with Wakefield and Mussina. Don’t really get to watch much aside from highlights today cause it turns out baseball isn’t popular in Australia and if it’s on it’s at 7am here 😅.
Love this. None of that "kids these days" bs, being honest about baseball history and his own pitching record, while still giving a serious answer about how he'd try to approach the problem
If Randy wasn’t 6’10 you would think he is just another regular guy. But it turns out he’s one of the nastiest left handed flame throwers of all time. His slider was something else.
That conversation shows a big difference between basketball and baseball players. RJ came up first saying how many HRs he had been hit, how careful he had to be if facing those elite hitters.
He probably hasn’t thought about specific sequencing in over a decade, yet he can still spew all this knowledge. It’s easy to see why he was so dominant for so long.
I don’t think I could’ve hit Randy if my life depended on it. Something about his wild pitching motion looks like it would make the ball unhittable, like you could never know what’s coming. He’s truly one of the greats.
still love Randy... he never had the hubris of many. willing points out that he gave up a lot of long balls. asked a question and talks fundamentals an mechanics..
Frank Thomas ball orbiting Jupiter to remind physics to work. Man he must of been terrifying to swing at. I cannot even imagine the battle these two had.
Randy is just being polite and humble over here, and as he should be bc its a different era now but anybody knows anything bout baseball knows his one of the few great pitchers in the history of the game The batters were intimidated just by his presence on the mouny as if they were looking at a rocket launcher!!
This photographer sure knows a lot about baseball
Unfortunately his time his already up. He should've started pitching when he was younger.
Ha, great comment.
Must have be a really good HS pitcher that got burnt out from baseball and decided to take pictures instead

The humility he's talking about himself and his pitching is surprising but also refreshing. He was an absolute monster of a pitcher as well!

Randy is awesome! Thanks for all the interviews.
Randy rockin his USC hat....Fight on Randy
Love Randy’s current baseball talk. Straight to the point by someone who’s been there and done that at the highest level
Current pitchers in the MLB are taking notes right now listening to this LEGEND
Randy was a beast in his prime, and that's saying a lot considering the juiced up monsters he was facing during that era.
There’s never been, nor ever will be, another like the Big Unit. He was something else.
Very refreshing to hear a successful pitcher honest enough (and humble enough) to talk about giving up home runs to good hitters.
I love hearing Randy Johnson talk about his craft. I love baseball.
One of the most humble pitchers to exist. Even after his perfect game, he seemed more happy for his catcher than he did for himself.
We need more of this
The ball is still orbiting somewhere lol, what a goat!
The Big Unit was a badass back in the day. One of my fav pitchers.
Love to see how humble he is and giving props to the new generation too
We in Seattle still love Randy Johnson ❤
I watched Randy Johnson's major league debut in late 1988 with the Montreal Expos vs the Cubs at Wrigley, he was a raw talent at that time
Dbacks legend RJ!!🐍🐍🐍
Wow...Randy Johnson...one of the scariest and "must see" pitchers in history...and a USC alum! Fight On Randy!
What a legend. He's still looking good!
Dang, all those years watching him dominate, I don't think I ever heard him talk. Respect.
He's only 61. He gave me the impression he was 75.
"Very carefully." Was my prediction. It turned out to be nearly exactly what Randy said.
I'm taking this advice and using it in MLB the Show 24.
Johnson performance was the Rembrant of pitching that lineup basically won so many WS. He moved them down spectacularly in a great upset.
This is amazing to hear
just hearing it from the man himself. amazing content.

Facts. We had some great pitchers in the last couple decades like Verlander, Felix, Sabathia, Scherzer, but it’s just not the same.
Any team would be lucky to have him as a pitching coach.

Very interesting to hear and I’m not the biggest baseball fan
Baseball was never better than during Randy's illustrious career. Peak period of the sport.
First one high and tight. Then 3 straight sidearm sliders from the Big Unit would make quick work. Man it was fun to watch him pitch.
For one at bat. But the big slugger would still have three more coming. He adjusts very well as we all have seen...
Man I miss the old times😢
I was born in 88, didnt follow baseball at all, but I knew who Randy Johnson was
