      It’s called rehab lol that’s part of it😂 people want him to pitch but don’t realize the risk. There’s the pitch clock and the duress from batting. Rn this year his bat is way more important than 3 outs in the playoffs

    • @brianchar-bow3273
      @brianchar-bow3273 2 месяца назад +19

      This is rehabilitation pitching practice for his return as a two-way player next year, not practice for pitching during the current season.
      He's Japanese, so it's just a long-range plan to prepare for next year, starting the year before.
      He's not throwing in games this season, so he's just doing regular warmups so his body doesn't forget the pitching.
      If he's serious about pitching in the postseason, he'll be doing a different routine with more test throws of different types of pitches. Perhaps this is just a warm-up pitch to get used to his shoulder.

    • @Ch4nnyb0y
      @Ch4nnyb0y 2 месяца назад +11

      He will not pitch this year, it's too risky for his health and also for the team records : he hasn't got momentum during real games so far. So don't expect it, let him heal first.

    Id really like to see Ohtani pitching again, but I think he should quit doing that, the pitching will shorten his career, two surgeries and counting, the split finger is going to destroy his arm and if he doesn’t throw it, he is going to be beaten up.

    • @BobSmith-qh1ej
      @BobSmith-qh1ej 2 месяца назад +8

      This is prob part of the rehab process. Hence how he’s eating like 2-3 mins in between each pitch. But I agree his bat is way more important than his pitching for this year! Dodgers need to protect ohtani from himself like all starts need.
