      little overrated...playing with malone helped his assists...he wasnt that great..a lot of his stats are cumulative for playing 19 mostly healthy years ..he wasnt a top 5 point guard ever...lost a lot of playoff games series too...i like him but come on now..curry Westbrook magic oscar thomas shit on him as point guard players

    • @travispavich1694
      @travispavich1694 6 лет назад +8

      Asmosis Jones overrated? You jut had your basketball IQ revoked. Stockton would have done this on any team. That team wasn’t just Malone. Someone had to get Malone the ball. Stockton was a great great great defender, a great shooter, a leader, clutch. Many players have lost many games. Westbrook isn’t a leader, Paul is close but Paul is playing in his first ever conference finals, Stockton played in 6. And how is Curry above Stockton? Because he can shoot threes? Curry isn’t a great defender, he’s not a great passer, and he’s benefiting from having Klay and Durant by his side.

      Asmosis Jones The only way you come to this conclusion is to: 1. Not take a deep look into his stats. 2. Not watch a full game of him playing. It’s clear to everyone here that you haven’t done either.

    Glad John is doing interviews. Such a quiet self kept person, always avoided the media despite being in the discussion for best PG of all time. He could also dunk, but wasn't into being flashy, just wanted to be pure and get the W. Back in my day, he dunked for a high school in Utah just to show that he could in-fact dunk.

      I 'm huge zags fan from Syracuse(unusual) so obviously big stockton fan growing up. gary payton aka glove said Stockton was hard to defend than Jordan. Price was like that b/c players like that constantly took u around screens and used other nuances. Stockton is the HOAT! ("Humblest of all-time.") Great player! Stockton's comment about others telling him people talked trash to him but he didn't know it is barely believable. There are only a handful of guys who could say that and not be joking or lying. That's an insane level of concentration. Stockton's assist record will never even be tested. Any young guy who thinks Stockton couldn't play now needs to share his argument with GP. In my opinion, Stockton was one of the best shooters of all-time not known for being a shooter. Everyone thought of him as a floor general passer but he could shoot the lights out. I remember his shot to beat the Rockets in the playoffs. He got a wide open look and everyone knew the game was over. He was 6'1" in b-ball shoes and three pairs of socks but he played with no fear. One thing he did have, as a physical advantage, was a pair of hands that belonged to a 6'9" guy! Huge!!

      Purely passing: John's a tad better. Overall player: Magic's better, but Magic Johnson couldn't have achieved nearly what Little John did if he was 6-foot w/ no fast twitch muscle fibers. Stockton lived the purer life too, on top of that he was the purer point guard, whereas Magic was more glamour and capable of taking over an entire game.

    One of the greatest stories is from Gary Payton. Payton was a top notch trash talker. He proceeded to talk trash to John. John didn’t say a word, but ended up with 20 points, 14 assists, and 4 steals or something like that. Payton said he never talked trash to John again because one, he never answered, and two, he would just go out and do his thing, and you couldn’t stop it. As far as best PG, John is tops. No disrespect to Magic, I have Magic the better player. I have Magic right behind Jordan. But as a PG, Stockton rewrote the record books as a PG, numbers that may never be broken

      I heard Kerr say that on Open Court, but on reflection I think he was kind of half-joking. I'm sure Stockton probably got under Kerr's skin, as he did a lot of people, because he was such a frikking fierce competitor. I could definitely be wrong here, but Kerr is a pretty funny dude, and it's plausible to me that he knew it would get a rise out of everybody, and that was true that all the rest of the guys on the show that night exploded laughing. I think Kerr and Stockton are both class acts, and it's hard for me to imagine there's any real animosity there. My .02... ;-)

    What's great about John Stockton (and you can just hear by how he is talking) he isn't a Mormon-Christian, he is a
    Catholic-Christian, he doesn't go around committing adultery against his wife, and he isn't going to do that in the future.
    Mormon-Christians can definitely respect that about Stockton. The NBA pushes so many scumbags out there to the public who are adulterers, druggies and all the rest... the NBA never promoted Stockton like they should have, and that was a shame, an absolute travesty.
    The NBA should be promoting guys like John Stockton every chance they get to the younger generation. As popular as Stockton is, he should be a lot more popular. No question about that.

      To Rakesh: Don't take this personally but we are going to have to agree to disagree. We do earn our righteousness. A person does the best that they can ethically and morally over a long enough time, and then the God of gods downloads complete one hundred righteousness into a person's spirit. The spirit is a cloud computer so therefor downloading righteousness into a person's spirit is totally possible. Often this is done in the next life after death, but there are a few (like Elijah, Moses, and others) who had 100% righteousness downloaded into their spirit in this life, so it is possible, if a person does what Jesus Christ says to do. Doing what Jesus Christ said to do is the key to unlocking the power of the Universe in a person's life.

    • @AnonEmouseMan

      To Player Review: If John Stockton wasn't affiliated with a religion he would have helped to mass murder over 80 million Chinese people during the so called "people's cultural revolution" or millions of Cambodians and Russians or he would have done some things that are equally evil. The idea that not believing mathematics is the same thing as believing in mathematics that is totally one hundred percent false. The idea that not believing in morals or ethics and learning about that very complicated subject over the course of a person's lifetime is the same as doing that... that those two ways of life are same, this is totally ridiculous.
      On the other hand a lot of religious leaders are pedophiles who become religious leaders because it gives them a chance to do that kind of evil, so be aware by keeping your eyes wide wide wide open. Naivety is not a good thing, anyone that says so is naive.

If he did that, he really wouldn't have as much time to do other things, such as spend more time with his family etc. He just wants to have a normal outing to the store without excessive attention. I don't think he was necessarily anti-social, just anti-famous sometimes. I'm sure he was firm but cordial about his requests to not sign autographs, which he has a right to do that.
