I love how the first this he gives us in a summary of the Westerlands is a tactical analysis of it's defenses. As expected from the best military strategist in the franchise
@@namelessstranger1270 yes, he did win every battle he fought against Tywin's forces. But he could not win the war. Because Rob was an excellent tactician, while Tywin was a much better strategist.
„Better tactician, but worse strategist” - _While strategy is the action plan that takes you where you want to go, the tactics are the individual steps and actions that will get you there._ „'Battles,' muttered Robb as he led her out beneath the trees. ‚I have won every battle, yet somehow I'm losing the war.’" *Fitting.*
Its not the black magic that killed Tywin. Stannis's son in the form of shadow killed Renly and by using blood of Gendry, 3 kings were killed Robb, Baylon and Joffrey.
Love the line "But Lann must have been clever enough to not rely solely on his wits *Afterall, where is House Casterly?*" Somewhere else the theory is brought up that Lann partially took over by getting together with one of the casterly girls or sth. Maybe. But that still wouldn't explain what happened with the rest of the bloodline. Would have surely been a pity if they all... died out.
An interesting analogy: Lannister sigil is the male lion. In the wild, male lions kills the cubs of rival prides and mate with the females to introduce their own bloodline...kind of like what the Lannisters do.
If things keep going the way they have been, the strength of the Westerlands will be spent very soon. Its gold is gone, Tywin is gone, its army facing heavy losses all the time. It won't have much time left.
Just like the Reach. Just like the Riverlands. Just like Dorne. Just like the Stormlands. Indeed, soon enough, all the Seven Kingdoms will ne nothing more than the Night King's playground. The Crown Lands, the Vale, the North and surprisingly the Iron Islands may still be holding on. But how long will that last?
Jay Cersei seemed to be doing well in S7. Her stupidity has always been played down in the show and in S7 she got a major IQ boost and managed to repay her debts to the Iron Bank (sth even Tywin couldn't do) and got rid of all of Daenerys's allies in Westeros (Tyrells, Sand Snakes, Yara). But still, they did get significantly weaker when Tywin died (the HS thing never would have happened of Tywin was alive). The funny thing is that Cersei, a person stupid enough to arm the HS, was the smartest person in S7 and even outsmarted Tyrion (her only mistake in s7 was alienating Jaime)
Are these from the Blu-rays? And if so what season? Or are these done specifically for this channel? I'd hope they're everywhere, as they are all very well done
From the Blu-rays I've heard, every season has a few I believe. Nah it's not specifically for this channel, I've seen a few with these videos. They are a few other places on YT like Doodlepup I believe.
*Subscribe and get Alerts* or go into the Channel A Song of Ice and Fire Chapters Histories and Lore There's plenty more posted - not reposts. There's 3 Seasons all in PlayLists as of Oct 3rd
YouKnowWhy I want to understand better the history of the families in the GoT tv show universe but I want to know if these videos talk about the tv show or the books (I know they are kinda similar but still they have differences)
Alejandro Liévano I didn't know that!!..even if they were recorded, I hope that one of them would have been narrated by Emilia Clarke and they would upload it soon
One thing that confuses me is who is actually the “richest” house? In different points in history, it’s the Velaryons or the Hightowers (according to HoTD/Fire and Blood) but the main series makes it seems like the Lannisters wee always the wealthiest. Then this video calls House Reyn the second richest, so did the Velaryons and Hightowers just go bankrupt in the (fairly long) gap between the Dance of the Dragons and Robert’s Rebellion?
First, here Tywin was talking about the Westerlands; Second, you need to understand why they have money: The Velaryons were known to have money only because of Ser Corlys Velaryon. He was like a trader/traveler/merchant. Like the venecians, he became wealthy selling spices and fabrics (After the events of HoTD there is no mention that the Velaryons saved money or continued with the merchant lifestyle so we can infere that they lost their wealth during the Dance of the Dragons); The Hightowers rule over Oldtown. Oldtown remains the seat of the High Septon and the center of the Faith of the Seven, giving the Hightowers a strong connection with the High Septon. Oldtown is also the site of the Citadel and the Order of Maesters (It was the biggest city from before the Conquest). The Hightowers were really good at administrating the flow of goods from and into the city (And they have a certain advantages due to its geographical location, since it is a transit point for any city that is on the western coast of Westeros). Most of their income comes from the commerce in this big city and port; Finally, the Lannisters have the biggest gold Mine in all the known world of GoT. They are not very good at administrating money since they did not need to worry about being short on gold... In conclusion, depending on the timeline, these three houses were known to be the richest of all Westeros. Based on the show (GoT), the Hightowers are the current richest house.
Wow now I see why people we're so annoyed when they saw Casterley rock on the show this one looks much better and actually looks Impregnable.
Archangelsvoid GIVE ME TEN GOOD MEN AND I'LL IMPREGNATE THE BITCH
You should see the actual picture of casterly rock actually impossible to sack unless u had dragons and even then goodluck getting an army through
Of course!
By Gawd! Charles Dance's voice is so strong. I wish one day, he would hurl insults at me.
Could become my proudest fap, actually.
Those who ask to be burned cannot comprehend the roasting that will occur
I'm a simple man, i see Tywin Lannister, i click it.
I missed Tywin's voice
I love how the first this he gives us in a summary of the Westerlands is a tactical analysis of it's defenses. As expected from the best military strategist in the franchise
Not exactly the very best. Robb Stark would regularly beat Tywin's leadership on the field.
@@namelessstranger1270 yes, he did win every battle he fought against Tywin's forces. But he could not win the war. Because Rob was an excellent tactician, while Tywin was a much better strategist.
@@baconian_road_construction I suppose that is undeniable.
Tywin was a diplomat type. War is not his trade. That belongs to Robb, Randyl and Stannis
„Better tactician, but worse strategist” - _While strategy is the action plan that takes you where you want to go, the tactics are the individual steps and actions that will get you there._
„'Battles,' muttered Robb as he led her out beneath the trees. ‚I have won every battle, yet somehow I'm losing the war.’" *Fitting.*
The king without a crown.
What king
I swear, Charles Dance’s performance is one of the best I’ve ever seen, period!❤
I was so upset when Tywin was killed. :(
He deserved it, but he was the best character in the show IMO
The boar is behind all of this. Fuck the spider, the boar came to power after the whore got pregnant.
I'll never forgive Tyrion for killing him. He could have just escaped and been on his way, he didn't have to kill him.
Its not the black magic that killed Tywin. Stannis's son in the form of shadow killed Renly and by using blood of Gendry, 3 kings were killed Robb, Baylon and Joffrey.
Hinata Shoyo, you're right . Thanks for the correction
'And he falls back to the line'.. one of the best line
Charles Dances voice is the most marvelous voice and majestic voice!
It's sad that Casterly Rock in this looks so much better and more how I envisioned it than the one in the show...
I like that he mentioned Pod the Rod
So the Westerlands has a far more centralised system under House Lannister than many of the other kingdoms.
how old are you?
@@ka-boom2083?

Of course the existence of Lan the Clever and House Casterly is so far into the past that their very is existence is Apocryphal
An interesting analogy: Lannister sigil is the male lion. In the wild, male lions kills the cubs of rival prides and mate with the females to introduce their own bloodline...kind of like what the Lannisters do.
He was so wise yet he didn't use Tyrion wisely.
power in unity and yet he separated Tyrion from the rest of the family
Tyrion is probably;y a Targaryen to be honest
*points* there is the door. USE IT
Secretx51 you may be a Targaryen for all we know
Secretx51 Wrong one, the mad king stole his wedding night, after all~
Jk, sort of~
Tywin was the King whilst Aerys was his resting stick for 20 years!
Charles Dance's voice 😮😊❤
The “which i did” line goes crazy
Charles Dance is a hell of a storyteller.
One of my favorite characters in the series, even though I have a bit of an issue with him, with Tyrian and Robb being my top 2
Who's the servant of Tyrion he's talking about? Sir Podrick?
Yes
Asger Klujeff oh... So he's from house Payne?
Kenneth Agad His name is Podrick Payne.
What did Podrick do with those prostitutes to make them like him.
Timothy Wilkes
Well you see there's a reason Ser Illyn took the loss of his tongue so hard....
Hope they get Beric to do some History & Lore for season 7!
IKR?!?! His voice is epic!
This dude wanted the Ajanti Dagger in Golden Child; I always knew he was up to some devious.
I wish Charles Dance would narrate the books
do they get the actors to do the voice over? because its spot on

Its gold isn't gone. That's just something the show made up
1:52 im dying, what a badass
Imagine if Tywin was POTUS....no country would screw with us
well said tywin
I was watching this on the toilet.
We know...
Do you shit gold?
Same
careful you don't get shot by a dwarf with a crossbow
Charles Dance's voice - my proudest fap
Tywin was extremely brilliant but his limitation was pride and the pride of his house.

pwngeeves From the Bluray but they're all uploaded on to YT in hour long compilations
This is how i think if Tywin get PoV role in the book
Power.

Soufian 27 dude these shorts are fucking old
Just searching for them and you'll find other channels with the same shit
Every day new video but they're old to the context of GoT because lores are released before or after series.
This video is from S3.
YouKnowWhy I want to understand better the history of the families in the GoT tv show universe but I want to know if these videos talk about the tv show or the books (I know they are kinda similar but still they have differences)
I Hope CA Creative Assembly makes a GOT TOTAL WAR AND use these vids for Faction intros and in-game Vids🙄
Same I was surprised when they went with Warhammer btw fucking love Warhammer it was my entry to the series
Its ironic that an oversized wolf made the golden tooth the most useless castle in the seven kingdoms lmao.
Please ask Emila Clark to voice one of the chapters!!!
What would she narrate?
This was recorded years ago.
Edwin Worsech I don't know..I haven't read the books.. Maybe something about her rise to power and upto the point where she leaves for Westeros
Alejandro Liévano I didn't know that!!..even if they were recorded, I hope that one of them would have been narrated by Emilia Clarke and they would upload it soon
Emilia Clarke sucks

I think I accidentally based my entire life around Tywin's ideology without ever realizing it
You wish
what ideology? He's not a moron. Only morons follow ideologies
Lan the Clever was Age of Heroes not Dawn Age
W H I C H I D I D
Rich house, WAS a rich house before the mines dry
Do the actors voice it for you mate?
Dragonball Super these are made by hbo, this channel just reuploads em
forbidden for life thats what I thought, but I also thought why there are no copyright issues if that's the case. Anways thanks mate.
Olof Ärthea I think having a misconception does not indicate stupidity.
How's he stupid? These are only up because he's illegally uploading them. The channel looks legit too.
you are not my narrative voice :P
3:21
A shame he ended up with neither.
