I haven’t seen a more accurate comment. I’ve dead to rights head shot someone, twice, and nothing. Not a fucking thing. It’s insane. And so infuriating…
There's zero reason to aim for the head outside of camos. With most rifles, it takes 4 to the body to kill or 4 to the head. There's no mix of body+head that will down anyone one shot faster.
I play with a 19-24ms latency (according to the display at the top), and yet BO6 feels super inconsistent on TTK and what is registering. It becomes even more evident when you swap back to regular warzone which feels a little more consistent, somehow. In B06 I find myself often in fights where I'll stop shooting because I thought the guy would be dead. Then other rounds where I fire only a few shots and they are dead practically instantly.
Idk if anyone has told you, but COD utilizes a type of lag compensation for higher ping players, making your interactions with said higher ping players really inconsistent. So even if you are on low ping, the enemy being on higher ping can cause inconsistencies for you too.
@@mathiaschristensen1194 in MW23 this happens when you versing 120 ms players, now it happens when you versing 2-6 ms player with 19-24 latency. more - worse. game need to have trade off instead of fake hitmarkers and damage cancellation
There's also the possibility that some of the players you're killing quickly already took damage from a teammate and were at half health. Just something to keep in mind.
If it was found to be real I would absolutely stop playing. That would completely defeat competitive integrity and the point of trying to refine one’s skills.
@ well cheaters are an external force essentially right? Now they should be doing something more about but for them to actively add something like that in where you would hit the same amount of bullets in the same place but your bullets count for less, that would totally violate competitive integrity for me. If it was true, they would’ve seriously lost the plot for video gaming. Sure we all play for fun, but the root of it is improvement and refining skills.
@ yeah but it kind of sucks when you feel like you’re a improvement isn’t paying off cause you’re constantly match with people that are improving at the same pace as you. If your KD fluctuates two points then a match with a lobby that’s KD has fluctuated to where you’re at or higher
Activision literally have a patent outlining real time gameplay manipulation systems. All you have to do is look up the patent, if you’re choosing to look the other way or pretend that’s not confirmation enough, that’s on you.
@ depends on the specifics of the patent and if it was implemented. As he said in the video, sometimes they have an idea and throw a patent out to make sure they nail it down before others but they may do nothing with it. If there was proof of skill based hit reg, I think I’d be done with COD.
Apparently it is net code, but I have seen weird stuff on this game. The most weird was with the sniper, I get hit markers, even though it’s meant to be a one shot kill to the upper body, so I put the extra damage barrel on, which means that you get one shot kills anywhere Above the knee. I still get a lot of hit markers.
@@jamief1263 in the range you can clearly kill the last mannequin 1 shot without the chf barrel, with the 1st snip. Its 100% a server/connectivity/etc thing. @@jamief1263 so it’s most likely server issues , I never felt this in mw3 so it’s the most probable cause , I don’t think activations would make a skill based damage cause that would be to much work , unlike sbmm , that would need an ai to track the player throughout the game and how well he can kill players , wether it be with melee or any gun

Hard to tell if it’s skill based damage or ghost hit markers. Why does sometimes my gun take 3 shots to kill but other times it takes 4 or more shots at the SAME EXACT RANGE
yea, its most apparent with snipers when i get a hitmark at pretty much melee range. If damage is the same to entire body then what is the variable here
They actually would be ghost hitmakers. CoD is still running on 20 tick servers (I think) which effects the game heavily. If Player 1 shoots their gun at Player 2 then he's shooting his gun. But from Player 2's pov Player probably isn't shooting the gun at all. 20 tick servers in the grand scheme of things aren't smooth. Imagine a laggy slow motion lobby where everyone is skipping and not moving smoothly at all. Or imagine what 10 framers per second on a screen and apply that to server movement. Games like Battlefield and Roblox on running on 60 tick servers (I think lol).

A major frustration is that I live near the Dallas servers and get 5 ping when they put me on those servers. When I play solo or in a duo, I tend to get put on 50-70 ping over 50% of my matches. I don't like ping taking such a backseat to this SBMM/EOMM algorithm
@@Dabagel100that doesn’t work, I live in DFW and so do all my friends and the matchmaking still gives us 80ms matches. We all have Gig internet, the servers on this game are garbage.
@@eon1166 damn that blows :C The only thing else you could do is use a geo fence but that seems excessive just to play on a low ping server. Also could be SBMM widening ur game do to yall being goats.
@ I’ve been GeoFencing with a VPN recently and have found mildly better lobbies, but only when I play solo. There’s a shit ton of server issues between console and Xbox (in my experience) and half the time if we get into a game at all we’re lucky. Hoping they can fix this soon cause I’m really enjoying bo6.
This is something that I suspect comes from CoD having preferred parameters for their ping that might be a bit too wide. Basically, the game might be fine with you having a 50-80ms ping because it is trying to keep you below 90, say. It is not the ideal goal number, but the system doesn’t know that, and it thinks it is doing its job. Meanwhile, the allowable skill variance in your lobby might be very narrow, and it is trying to meet all of these requirements equally, even though the 90ms ping cap is not actually good enough. So what you get for a high-skill player is a lot of lobbies that have what we would consider poor network qualities, and extremely narrow skill allowances. The system thinks it is doing a good job, but that is because the allowable network quality is too lax, and the allowable skill gap is too narrow. It is likely that they are trying to make the allowable network tolerance wider so they can get people into matches sooner, and the skill gap narrower because they want to keep the average player more insulated as much as possible, because they are the bulk of the game. Essentially, the system is working exactly as intended, but the parameters are not tailored to high-skill players, and they are not meant to be. Essentially, the game is not made for us. It is made for the 80-90% of the player base who are NOT us.
I have to dump half a mag into an enemy whilst controlling recoil. Yet the enemies appear to have zero recoil and kill me in 3-4 bullets. The game is broken.
Either internet or skill issue. Milliseconds are crucial in high skill play (in cod) and so missing a single bullet, or landing lower body shots, or obviously getting shot first = death (in higher skill level) which means it CAN happen any where else. Plus you need to make sure you’re using the right weapon for the situation. If you’re rocking an assault rifle, in close range even if you land the first bullet and follow it up with 100% accuracy, you can still die to an smg user (or obviously a shotgun kid).
main reason i hate this game is because headshot damage basically doesnt exist. its infuriating that they dont reward accuracy in this game. if i hit a harder hitbox target, i should be rewarded and it just feels like such a casual decision and i hate it.

I noticed in the beta that headshots did fuck all damage. Even when attaching a barrel that increases headshot damage barely does anything. Seems like this issue hasn’t been tweaked in the slightest if I see clips of people dying after hitting a couple headshots.
They need to fix head glitches, and I could've sworn the devs talked about addressing this back in MW'19. Your gun should align with the lower half of your face when aiming down sight. Someone shouldn't be able to shoot you when only a sliver of their forehead is peaking out.

If you can't rip them off with 3 consecutive headshots and one bodyshot with most of the ARs and SMGs, why even put a headshot mechanic in the game?
My pistol is 1 shot, when I got to around 3k kills on it, all of a sudden I’m getting hit markers in hardcore lately … buzzy. As soon as I have a mad game on my servers, for rest of the day .. don’t get my Aussie lobby’s anymore , get 200+ ping lobby’s
This has always been an issue for AU. I had aussie buddies a decade ago, they'd talk about the same issue at certain times of day certain days a week. If the game is broken, less people play, so the matchmaking expands to other countries.
I can't speak for everyone but the matchmaking imo is making it feel worse than his has to. I'm on pc & around the Houston area. Most big titles have servers close to me. I have pretty good wifi & pretty much every other online game I play I'd say my ping is usually max 30ms but usually I'm sitting around 10 - 20 range. Bo6 however is constantly searching my games for sub 50ms & I've had it go has high as saying searching for sub 100 something ping. We know connection has gotten worse ever since our matchmaking system is curating every lobby based on skill but bo6 seems to feel even worse. I'm constantly getting desync issues & bad hit reg. Massive lag spikes almost every game but I only seem to experience it in bo6.
@@tytanavarlt217 for me it's to the point where at least once a game whether it be zombies or mp I get a massive lag spike where I bounce around for about 10 seconds. I thought it was my pc or my wifi. Exactly! I also live in Houston, I have really good internet and a wired connection to my router, and Call of Duty is the only game that gives me trouble with connectivity.
My problem has been situations where i get 4 hitmarkers with the C9 and also get killed in 4 shots by it. Dying in the same amount of bullets that I hit the other guy with, using the same gun, has been driving me up the wall. Using the GS45 earlier today I hit a body shot and head shot (even had the headshot multiplier barrel) in a gunfight with someone also using the GS45 and they dropped me in 2 shots. Its just so inconsistent. I've also been keeping track of my crashes and I'm up to 9 so far.
I feel like people are forgetting that running flack jacket literally reduces incoming fire damage, not just explosive damage. Some people have it equipped, some don't. Same gun at same range may take a couple more bullets. Opponent health when you see them and engage can vary from one encounter to another. Not saying there aren't issues, but I feel like people just forget a lot of variables sometimes.
People need to understand a little bit about how network protocols work. COD uses UDP to pass game traffic similar to streaming video or voip. If a incoming or outgoing packet does not reach its destination, it is gone forever and not retransmitted. When this occurs during a gunfight you will see inconsistencies, particularly if one clients packets are delivered and the other clients is dropped.
MW2 did ballistics perfectly. It was always projectile, all the time. This meant that you could easily get a handle on muscle memory and understand where to shoot, just by playing the game and getting used to it. Changing it back to the old MW2019 system makes no sense to me. It uses more packets to calculate damage, causes inconsistencies where bullets can simply cease to exist, alongside loads of other issues. It needs to be one or the other. Hitscan, or projectiles. Using both never ends well. I thought we learned this lesson with Insurgency Sandstorm...
Always wondered why Insurgencys hit reg was so messed up. Doesn’t help that in co op the AI move 5x faster than real players, so whenever you shoot they can just instantly turn the other way and dodge
You’re right, Microsoft, the owner of Activision, is pretty new in the computing space. It makes sense they don’t have good servers. I don’t want to hear anymore about these conspiracies about Activision, a publicly traded company whose mandate is to make the most amount of money for investors, making a game to get the most amount of money from you.
being a huge triple A studio does not guarantee good servers. Ask any Apex Legends player if EA gives them good servers. These companies are cheap and want to get away with spending as little money to make a profit as possible.
I want more than anything to mindlessly love COD like I used to but I constantly feel like I just get destroyed in BO6 despite the fact that I'm shooting a guy's head and he is prone shooting my knee caps yet I'M THE ONE WHO DIES????
I never thought skill-based damage was a thing, but I've known since OG MW2 that COD's servers have never been consistent. It's only exacerbated by the current EOMM system that puts you up against the best players on the end of your skill bracket while matching your team witb the lowest end, which also lead to inconsistent pings.
If you'd ask me theres some unexplainable Warzone clips which blame this as the reason, I personally feel like this isn't a constant but random based on a constant of being better
lol thats the most absurd logic right there, reverse boosting you are literally playing bad, going high on the deathstreak so the game thinks you are retard enough to not get nerfed, basically confirming skill based damage is real. The other way two boxing you are joining a game you are not supposed to be in, glitching the sbmm and eomm, same as using a vpn, include playing all day like no lifers and spending on cod points like crack heads and you are golden the perfect customer, like this poor trinity guy getting nukes on 8 year olds and disabled people for 0 views. You may be 12 and not know, but damage modification has existed legally in cod since mw1 2007 with the juggernaut perk and specifically designed for the noobs in mw2 2009 as a the infamous deathstreak that buffed your health after respawning, not to mention bullet prenetation perks and other newer extra armor damage in warzone. So this idea that its something hard to do for them is simply stupid, specially when you are talking about the game that makes more money every year on the heads of addicted kids of age and mind.
If it did have skill based damage it would be subtle to the point that it's only going to have an affect when players are fairly close in skill. A high level player needing one or two more bullets for a kill is still going to stomp bottom tier players.
This is why I’ve always played hardcore ever since the original MW and WAW. Core has always been terrible due to how many damn bullets you have to use to kill someone. Now with seeing this shit with BO6 is insane.
I think the inconsistent experiences per match are from so many different people subverting the matchmaking whether it's through VPNs or joining off a lower skilled friend. All of these in tandem really makes the solo CoD experience not at all what it used to be.
@@ThePsychoRenegade BO6 is projected to be o e of the bigger launches for COD in a while and it's also day 1 o. Game Pass. I'm surprised the servers have functioned as well as they have thus far.

You can manipulate the SBMM in such a degree that only a damage-based system could be implemented If you quit several games in a row mid match, you'll eventually be put into another match mid-game. You will be placed on the losing team that's down 10-15. Almost 100% guaranteed, your team that's losing will suddenly come back and win the match - regardless of your input into the match. It's like the game will give you this free win and do whatever to make sure you don't quit. It almost has a rubberband effect like you see in racing games
its not damage based, you have no proof. What you are describing is just basic sbmm. They drop you ( a good player that is on a losing streak) into a lower ranked SBMM lobby and since they are much lower skill/sbmm, you should win. They do this so you stop having a lose streak and increase player retention. This is slightly manipulative but its still just sbmm.
@MrDrOpossum see thats the problem I have with cod they focus so hard on player retention with sbmm and not just making a decent game with good servers. bo6 the zombies is pretty good and it's probably the best game they have released in years. People stay on games they enjoy. I honestly was having a pretty good time till this new season where they changed the sbmm now I can't stand it
There has to be a way to abuse that system in ranked. Quit 1 out of 3 matches, maybe? Only get enough kills to get the win, don't go hyper carry unless you have to to win? People in LoL on phone were doing that awhile back [has a similar sbmm] where they would pick a character who runs into the enemy base, die on purpose after hitting the tower a few times, do it over and over ruining their kda, but getting objectives to win. The matchmaking paired those players up with people who had consistent better scores per game to "balance" it, and they'd win basically every game.
@Astroqualia i watched a video just now on old cod, and it actually got me thinking about clans what If we revived clans. Im curious as to how this matchmaking would handle a full team of people together in the matchmaking
Same thing happens to me mate. Noticeable. Shooting someone in the back, the turn and then kill me, even though I've not missed a shot. By the sounds of it, it could be latency, packet loss, or loss of hitreg for projectile (different weapons, different distances)
At the very least, skill based registration is very real. I've witnessed my first 2 shots hit, then the rest of my entire mag go through people 5 feet in front of me more than once. Most of the time it's a shot it two here and there that won't register, but it wowed me when literally most of the mag flat out just ignored him
I’m so happy to not be alone in this, I thought I was just trash or people wouldn’t believe me for dumping half a mag with a nearly maxed out MX4 while the enemy 3 taps me to the body with a pistol. Not meaning I’m happy people have to deal with this but I really wasn’t sure what the hell was happening
Just an assumption but, I think damage to the feet being the same as the upper body is a way for EVERYONE to be a winner. I have finally played COD long enough to learn decent centering. I still struggle and have to think moving up to the head during a gun fight. By making the entire body the same damage value and no headshot multiplier allows people like my brother who ALWAYS shoots at the feet to feel they are on the same level as an enemy who has good centering. But, same as EBMM, this only affects the better players negatively and since they will play anyway, Activision is not concerned. Just my thought.
i have felt this during Warzone2, sometimes i insta kill somebody, the next round i need a full mag to pump into someone.... a joke, left cod a long time ago

@@zer0faults everyone is saying trust me bro because getting absolute concrete data is nearly impossible unless you work on the game itself, there's too many variables we gotta deal with that makes it complicated. I actually learned a few things this video my guy, thank you I was felt like something was off and I couldn’t put my finger on it. Thank you for your info and testing!
I 100% believe this to be an implemented feature in the latest COD. When playing, pay attention to things such as how many rounds it takes to down different enemies with the same weapon or how many bad games you have before you have a good game. You should notice a pattern. In most matches there will be a “selected winner” that will always take around 20% or 30% more damage to down while also dealing more damage to you. Often there is also an “easily killed” player on the other team as well. EBMM I believe keeps the “winner” on a rotation of games to keep everyone engaged. If you lose 5 games in a row you will most likely stop playing, so every few games every player needs a good match or two to keep playing. COD is a now an algorithm based game designed to keep you playing to increase potential profit.
EVERY GAME there is a player who sponges WAY MORE shots than any other player... Then I've played games where I've shot people with hardly any bullets and kill them instantly.. some fuckery is going on and no deep dive vids will convince with otherwise..
Half right. Your games are heavily rigged in terms of the players in the lobby and controlled by an algorithm based on your previous matches. There is no skill based damage, there is no high health enemy, there is only bad connection and HEAVY sbmmm designed to prevent determine your match results, but the game is not manipulating things real time. That would be easily proveable if it was the case. Did you watch the video, he tested thousands of kills across multiple accounts of varying skill and had no inconsistencies.
You're eyes are whide open and you see the truth. 👍 The dont have to nerf damage. They manipulate your connection to their server. That's where al the pockerburst comes from.
So my buddy and I were playing Nuke Town domination last night. We were holding B and the rest of our team was harassing the other team and we were winning easily. All of a sudden no constant grenades were falling on our heads and for 10-15 seconds I saw no one. I asked my friend if the other team quit and he checked and said no, they’re all still playing. After that 15 seconds or so of silence, the other team pushes and easily takes B from us. within a minute and a half they have us all spawn trapped. My bullets essentially quit working and the guys that I was destroying were now destroying me. We just quit. Not sure if it’s skill-based damage but something is surely messed up
@@themiller9868 I’ve seen that happen not the switch up but the map goes quiet for a couple mins and I literally couldn’t find nobody but there was 6 people on the other team idk what that is fr lol
This is something that I’ve been thinking since modern warfare II. I think the algorithm will literally just spawn flashes and grenades that no one throws to even out matches.
I’ve had this exact same thing happen, I’ll be frying the whole match until roughly the halfway point or so and then all of the sudden I start getting blasted and can’t shoot back. Something is definitely going on, I think what people don’t realize is skill based damage doesn’t have to be reflected in the actual “damage” numbers. It can be something that affects ping during gunfights ( WHICH I HAVE CLIPS TO PROVE ). I have 100% confirmed evidence in video form of me playing, I fry everyone but ONE person on the opposite team everytime I get into a gunfight with them my ping goes from 28-30 all the way up to 60-70 and spikes and causes me to lag EVERY SINGLE TIME AGAINST THAT ONE PERSON. This has happened in many matches consistently enough where as a biology major who enjoys stats and scientific studies being performed, I have seen enough evidence where I’m willing to claim it is a fact.
"skill based damage" is just the connection quality changing when someone in the lobby leaves or joins so the connections in the lobby are different. Happened like clockwork because of it in MW22 and MW23. Can't imagine BO6 is any different. One team does too good or to poorly and the people getting shit on leave, networking changes, lag comp (which is cranked way too high) changes, and now your perfect connection letting you rip into enemies is gone. Same goes if you're on the losing side and some teammate who's cheeks ends up leaving and now all of your rounds end up hitting as soon as they're gone.
I swear, EVERY time I go on a good streak, the game will lag, usually mid gunfight. You guessed it, I lose. This can't be random. It just can't be, as it's incredibly consistent
@michaelespeland your modem might be dying. I recently changed mine and so far I've had 0 lag issues in game and I usually am one of the top 2 scores in the lobby. I swear everyone is making excuses for their inability to adapt or failure to understand what happened. That being said I hate the game and most likely will quit very soon unless the next update changes a lot of things. My biggest issue is the pay to win enhanced headphone bs... I tried it today, and yes if you have good headphones it is quite noticeable. Most people believe they have good ones, but they really don't.
@@ImAfrogQC I thought so too, but everything I have in terms of connection is top notch. 1Gb line, modem is new, my router is solid, my ping ranges between 15-25. I dont have these issues in BF, XDefiant, Apex, Splitgate, etc etc. Only in COD. And as I said, this only happens when going on high streaks. If it happened all the time, regardless of my performance, it would be more clear. But, when it only happens based on how I perform, I have to question it.
I don't understand, i know everyone says the servers are shite, they say they get poor connection or packet bursts constantly or wtv, but, as someone who plays on low end wifi on a ps4 that's been kicking for about 7+ years, I don't find these issues, ever. Aim assist can actually be worse to play with if you're good at the game, it's not been "buffed" either, it got nerfed when cold war launched because previous cods weren't crossplay and actually snapped onto target, which many people think is still the case for some reason.
I’ve always wondered if aim assist was skill based. I used to level up all my guns on maps like shipment. In some games it would feel super sticky and I’d have a good game, and then the next one feels like I can’t stay on target and get slaughtered. It just didn’t feel consistent, it’s probably just me though tbf. For this reason I have switched to mouse and keyboard for BO6 and the next Warzone.
It's not just you. That EA trying to give you a varied experience to keep you playing and playing. Giving you a dopamine shot, to keep you chasing that shot. The more you play the more they take it away to keep you chasing... Exactly like drugs ore gambling. The manipulating system is build that way.
the first time this ever happened to me was cod ww2. i went from being able to counter lmg jeep campers on shipment 24/7 to literally not being able to land a shot on them for the rest of the games life cycle and i could never explain it. then mw2019 came along and i felt like i could never get a beat on people, aim was always off but what felt like an inch. in cold war we found it it was aim resist and it was a "bug" that was never fixed until vanguard which they did which vanguard to this day since mwii launched has no sbmm, you can hop on now and theres none of this weird silly nonsense going on and you frag against lvl 1000+ people activision patent says they have a system to make it so lesser players dont have to aim as hard and better players make it harder to aim, people said theres no way to do this in a multiplayer game but theres literally a mechanic like that in the game now thats parameters are dictated by range and weapon type: aim assist
This could also be explained by bad netcode. If there are different elements and bits of information the game has to deliver to you any one of them could be lost or misplaced in the process. For example, you have the player model that you see, then you have the hitboxes, then you have the aim assist box and you have what the other player is doing or inputting. If any of these get out of sync it will mess with the feel of the game. So if the player model is in one spot and the hitboxes are in another, you get ghost bullets. @@crush_3d If you read the patent that is talked about in the video, it literally mentions making realtime modifications to different variables depending on your hidden skill rating, such as the amount of HP you will have, weapon damage modifiers, health regen etc. I can tell you with 100% certainty that they were using this system in MW2 and MW3, even in ranked play (so why wouldn't it also be in BO6?). I was Crimson rating in MW2, and whenever I would face a Diamond player (the ranked tier below crimson), my weapon damage was being modified. It was taking me 4-5 shots to kill with the exact same weapon + attachments as the opponent, whereas it would take them only 2-3 shots. It was especially noticable in ranked play because everyone used the same meta weapons and attachments. I used to have an abundance of clips proving it but I sadly deleted them all to make space on my PC, I wish I could show you. And before you say anything about it being casued by packet loss or connection problems, it wasn't. It would consistently take 4-5 shots to kill against lower rated players.

100 fucking percent. This has happened to me too many times to be coincidence and I have never experienced this in any other fps game. For me it's usually a gradual decline in skill due to fatigue, BO6 is literally a robotic switch mid game. Even new MW2 wasn't this bad, it would at least let me have the match and I would just expect to get my ass stomped next game.
Here’s the problem with this theory: it is 100% indisputably true and present against bots in a private custom match. And that’s why I don’t trust Cod. But the conflict comes because it’s not AI when online doing PvP but human inputs, so it doesn’t make sense in this case and I’m more inclined to believe in desync, bad servers, and lag switching hacks. But the question remains: is AI having an effect on the COD online multiplayer experience and if so: in what way is it influencing the player experience. The way AI is being invested in globally I’m inclined to believe in this theory the most as opposed to this “Skill Based Damage”.
I never believed in skill based damage but connection plays a big roll in phantom rounds which might cause the belief of skill based damage which na servers average on 60-80 ping at least for me and my friends which causes phantom rounds where ur bullets just don’t register or they make the hit audio but no damage is dealt it’s not Activision trying to screw good players it’s just hit registration being shit and thanks for showing people this stuff cause lots of RUclipsrs just blame skill based damage or what ever so they can complain make a yt vid and just want an excuse for missing bullets
There needs to be more transparency with server connections/locations etc. I have some games where my shots just register way better and opponents die. Then the next match, I'll hit the same sort of shots and just get hit markers every time. It's very frustrating. its like playing with host back in the day.

Happy to have found your channel, I like the blunt impartial documentary style of videos, keep it up!
In a way, you could still argue that skill based damage exists in the sense that a player with bad aim is still rewarded for aiming at the enemy's toes. As a PC player on MnK, with hundreds of hours spent aim training, I do feel like I get cheated out of gun fights more often than I have in past titles.

I was at rank 300ish when the overall kovaaks scoreboard came out (i was around 3400th last time i checked because i dont grind it anymore) and it feels like they spit on you for being on mouse and keyboard. the game is a joke currently imo and i was hopeful for it because it was a 3arc game... but they cucked out like the mw and vanguard devs
If someone manages to hit you in the toe more consistently, then you can hit them across their entire body that's an issue on your side. In all seriousness, though, it's a problem in either direction. You can have way too many modifiers that it causes inconsistencies as well as say in older COD modifiers where it was unified besides head (excluding shotgun/sniper), which in the perfect scenario would allow for more consistent fights but on the other hand allows many cheap deaths like say shooting feet under a car or a similar situation where small parts of the player are visible which was common in the older games. I'd also add that those problems with the older modifiers are worse in Bo6 with advanced movement as it would be much easier to achieve along with sharp drop offs leading to even more inconsistencies
@@truebacon133it's not always that someone can hit your toe more consistently than you their torso that's the problem. Let's say 2 players, exact same gun shoot at the exact same time. Player 1 hits 2 shots on the torso, 1 neck & 1 head. Player 2 hits all 4 shots in the leg. You'd think that the player who had better shot placement not only wins but kills player 2 before he even gets 4 shots off.
AA in this game is tuned far too high. I've played both inputs to top ranks, even t500 in games like OW, Apex, Destiny, etc. But in Bo6, the AA is more op than it was in Apex, and especially when combined with scope in RNG, excessive visual clutter + screenshake, being shot through foliage and equipments, heavy flinch MnK experiences + recoil relative to controller, and the AA players adjusting to strafes at 0ms (which you can perfectly see in slow motion) because we can't have 200ms??? That's pro level reaction time but humanly achieveable and wouldn't hurt controller, they don't need machine speeds of aim adjusting. AA in this game more like an a soft aimbot than an assist. I've used them before in games like Bo3 recently now the game is riddled with cheaters, I know this AA is tuned so hard to be like an Aimbot rather than AA atm 😂 They've done EVERYTHING possible to nerf MnK indirectly by making several aspects of the game ruin your aim or force you to raw it while directly by making AA busted and not increasing their flinch value to AT LEAST compensate for the clear negation. Look at games like Apex, they had to remove flinch to help MnK on top of the AA nerfs because controller was just outright busted. CoD doesn't care about MnK players.
@@TunableFall662 I agree that if someone is more accurate, they should be the person winning the gunfight. In BO6s case, with all the extra movement, it makes sense why they went with the older model as if they had all the extra modifiers, then it would make the game feel even more inconsistent with how the character models flail around while sliding, spinning, diving etc. The modifier I do feel needs changed is head and neck as those 2 should be modifiers and should feel rewarding to hit, which currently do not, which paired with damage range drop offs feel worse.
During the beta, it *really* felt like it was skill based damage. I started out getting very quick kills via body shots, but ended up with double the TTK with the CQB barrel and aiming for headshots, consistently.
The fact there is casino based matchmaking and we the people still play this garbage is insane to me. I fall into this trap also, I simply just can't find a game like COD, and keep getting drug down into this garbage.
The irony of them doing this for player retention is that they are possibly isolating and punishing a portion of their higher skill player base which in turn could lead to those players, who are often the most devoted to spending time in the game, to quit due to many reasons.

As a medium skill player on m&k, I disagree with the spray and pray statement. Not having any aim assist, I have lost so many 1v1 gun battles landing the first 4 shots before they even fire. I have mainly aimed for the body because of the larger horizontal jumps in recoil. When I land head shots I win more gun battles. Started to aim for the shoulder line to let recoil take it to the head.
Just uploaded a video where I get blasted on repeat, greandes landing on ppl doing no damage, endless hitmarkers. Until one life my gun starts working and my KD evens out, this isn’t a skill issue.
So, something I have actually seen picking up some steam lately is not skill based damage, but skill based hit boxes. Its even mentioned in the patent. When a player is struggling, the game will enlarge the hitbox of enemies, allowing them to have a better chance of hitting them. This can also work in the opposite way. The hitbox of the lower skill player will be reduced. I've even seen some video where people are literally shooting completely outside the player, and getting hitmarkers. I've even experienced this myself, without being able to actually confirm it, but I feel like when I'm getting wrecked, at a certain point, I'll start hitting my shots when I honestly don't feel like I should have and vice versa. Instead of being melted instantly, Ill see enemies shooting at me, but nothing is registering. I'm assuming this is because the bullets are not hitting my now smaller hitbox. I'd love to see you test this theory.
Then why does it always happen after your on a tear in the first half of a game and then suddenly people soak 3x the rounds the second half of that same game?
Just play the game. It's so obvious that they're messing with you midgame ore even at the start of the game. Everything you're talking about is just a distraction from the fact that they are actualy are manipulating your gameplay. In your contact with them have they actualy fully confirmed they are not doing it!? Let me ghuess.... they didn't and put up a smokescreen.
The discrepancy between head-shots vs body-shots vs leg-shots is what made me LOVE realism mode from MW19- and the reason I wish every cod since then head a realism mode playlist (which mw19 had). Body/Limb-shots were normal damage but headshots were 1 hit kill. It was a great balance between core and hardcore. It rewarded good aim but didn't let you get 1/2 shot by pistols (to the body) from across the map (like in hardcore). I think it was one of the greatest merges damage wise. I hate how now (MW2/MW3 onwards) have headshots basically being null and void except for when its a 1/2 shot weapon... having to get 4(+) headshots from an AR(/etc.) while it was 4/5 shots to the body/limb/foot is plain stupid and only rewards (as you said) spray and pray. It used to be that If I got 2/3 headshots or a mix of head and body, that I'd win the gunfight, vs someone who got 4 foot shots on me... shot placement doesn't matter at all anymore...And that's a balance issue, not a realism issue (as people always like to point out how COD isn't realistic, in defense to poor balancing decisions) Make shot placement matter again! Promote/reward skill vs just aim assist window wiping to the foot/legs.
I didnt even know this was something people were talking about until getting recommended this video. But I was playing yesterday and could have sworn I suddenly started doing way less damage mid match. Was usung the AEK, getting several single burst kills at the start of the match - no headshots. After that, I couldnt kill anyone even after two bursts at close range, with 4 or 5 out of 6 bullets hitting.

Either internet or skill issue. Plus you need to make sure you’re using the right weapon for the situation.

This has always been an issue for AU. I had aussie buddies a decade ago, they'd talk about the same issue at certain times of day certain days a week. If the game is broken, less people play, so the matchmaking expands to other countries.
@@Astroqualia gotcha, thanks for the information man
Why did you report that guy for cheating at 15:30?
Massive lag spikes almost every game but I only seem to experience it in bo6.
same for me, i didin't had that much "lags" on mw2019.... and the desync.... never have experience something like that, iit's awful
Even if skill based damage doesnt exist You know a company is shady when its believable that most people can see reasons why it would exist.
And this happens quite a lot in BO6
I really like these deep dive videos the last couple of days! Great work :)

I never thought skill-based damage was a thing, but I've known since OG MW2 that COD's servers have never been consistent. It's only exacerbated by the current EOMM system that puts you up against the best players on the end of your skill bracket while matching your team witb the lowest end, which also lead to inconsistent pings.
og MW2 was strictly peer to peer someone hosting on their xbox or ps3
If skill based damage was a thing, then people wouldn’t be able to pub stomp lobbies after reverse boosting. Their damage would be mitigated.
Exactly, or pro players or even the fake youtubers. All the claims are causals
*were
If you'd ask me theres some unexplainable Warzone clips which blame this as the reason, I personally feel like this isn't a constant but random based on a constant of being better
lol thats the most absurd logic right there, reverse boosting you are literally playing bad, going high on the deathstreak so the game thinks you are retard enough to not get nerfed, basically confirming skill based damage is real.
I found you through Phixate and i enjoy these new breakdown videos you have been making. Seems like they are getting a lot of views also.

You can manipulate the SBMM in such a degree that only a damage-based system could be implemented
If you quit several games in a row mid match, you'll eventually be put into another match mid-game.
Ok wackadoo

At the very least, skill based registration is very real. I've witnessed my first 2 shots hit, then the rest of my entire mag go through people 5 feet in front of me more than once. Most of the time it's a shot it two here and there that won't register, but it wowed me when literally most of the mag flat out just ignored him
Another banger. You got the commentary, format, editing, audience figured out man. I predict 500k by February

This is something that I’ve been thinking since modern warfare II. I think the algorithm will literally just spawn flashes and grenades that no one throws to even out matches.
To be clear I don’t think it’s anything nefarious but the servers are fucked
Just played another game of domination. Winning easily and call in attack helicopter. Within 2 minutes we’re being spawn camped wtf
Don't attribute that which can be explained by incompetence to malice. The servers are crap, because it's cheap for them to be crap.
I mean the amount of times that i shoot first, hit more bullets, and STILL lose the fight is astounding.
The manipulating system is build that way.
the first time this ever happened to me was cod ww2. i went from being able to counter lmg jeep campers on shipment 24/7 to literally not being able to land a shot on them for the rest of the games life cycle and i could never explain it. then mw2019 came along and i felt like i could never get a beat on people, aim was always off but what felt like an inch. in cold war we found it it was aim resist and it was a "bug" that was never fixed until vanguard which they did which vanguard to this day since mwii launched has no sbmm, you can hop on now and theres none of this weird silly nonsense going on and you frag against lvl 1000+ people
activision patent says they have a system to make it so lesser players dont have to aim as hard and better players make it harder to aim, people said theres no way to do this in a multiplayer game but theres literally a mechanic like that in the game now thats parameters are dictated by range and weapon type: aim assist
If the player model is in one spot and the aim assist box is in another then it will give you a feel like the game is resisting your ability to place the crosshair on the model, when in reality aim assist is doing its job it's just out of sync with the player model.
@@veechaeuphrates8512 If it were bad net code it would be more consistent. The net code is just fine, the servers are actually great, tick rates are what they should be for MP, people can argue about WZ but lower tick rates are ideal for that application.
I feel like this is a thing... I only play hardcore and what I am seeing is hitmarkers over and over again. I want that in professional sports! Everytime a Marathon runner is too fast, a car appears infront of them and in the trunk is someone shooting the runner in the nuts until they slow down enough. That'd be fun, wouldn't it?
If "skill based damage" actually existed it would most likely come in the form of artificial latency/packet loss with randomness added to it making it impossible to measure. Changing the actual damage would be an awful way to do it as it would be detected by players quickly.

It's very frustrating. its like playing with host back in the day.
your deep dives have been awesome keep up the good work!
This helps me understand quite a lot I just had no idea about, stopped playing cod after mw2019, and before then it was bo3 I think was my last, jumped into bo6 on the gamepass, and been working on the marksman rifles camo's slowly as I'm averageing a 0.8kd or so which is fine, but the swat felt so inconsistent to the point I thought I was going insane, and googled it and then found validation that others had said the same thing. With all the info you've explained in this video, at a pretty high level so plonkers like me can understand I feel nothing, no rage, no anger, no confusion, and that's fine. Happy to have found your channel, I like the blunt impartial documentary style of videos, keep it up!
In a way, you could still argue that skill based damage exists in the sense that a player with bad aim is still rewarded for aiming at the enemy's toes. As a PC player on MnK, with hundreds of hours spent aim training, I do feel like I get cheated out of gun fights more often than I have in past titles.
i uninstalled because of this man, it seriously is so stupid.
You could just stop playing.

The irony of them doing this for player retention is that they are possibly isolating and punishing a portion of their higher skill player base which in turn could lead to those players, who are often the most devoted to spending time in the game, to quit due to many reasons.
All I know is I'm not allowed to finish a match with more than a 2.00 kd every time I'm at a 3.00, 4.00 or more kd I suddenly go on a dying spree until I'm stuck back at a 2.00
Getting mininum 2, max 44 ping is wild for the US. Im lucky to find a match that's 45 ping, and i mostly find 65-85 ping. And that's playing at peak times, usually between 9pm-midnight on weekdays, 5pm-2am on saturdays.
15:35 why'd you report that guy? 😂
I had him in a previous lobby and he had gold on a handful of guns with suspiciously high accuracy for a fresh account. Gave a one time report, nothing more, not 100% certain but it felt likely
@TheTacticalBrit valid, I saw he was a pretty low level with a pretty high K/D so it makes sense. Either way if he's not cheating it won't hurt him 🤷🏻♂️
@@Nemesisxv2 This is not true, every report a player receives damages their trust factor if he keeps getting reports cheating or not he'll be placed in a shadow ban loop. Reporting people you're not 1000% sure are cheating is stupid and ends up punishing people.
@@Sxtvara That's a very flawed system /: I misunderstood it
I think it's because of the Omni movement, it's basically impossible to slide into a random spot and try to kill someone before they get u cuz ur screen is a mess and have no idea where ur sliding into right? So the solution is if u can just surprise someone and kill them by aiming in general spot, it motivates that compared to just standing and going for headshots
This still doesn’t tell me why I can empty an entire 59 round mag into one person and not die on like 10 ping but I die in 2-3 shots
what weapon were you using?
how far away from that person were you?
how many shots did you actually land?
what weapon were they using?
all these factors play a role

This does explain a lot for me. As a competitive shooter player on KBM, i often spray at heads and get 3-4 headshots with the xm4 and then get pissed when they're alive. Now that I know this is how headshots works, I'm heavily considering dropping my casual cammo grind, because hardcore feels like shit imo.
I still feel like ive witnessed skill based damage, just weird how inconsistent the burst rifles are when you're doing good it seems like they'll randomly stop being 1 burst at close range and instead it takes 2, and its the same with other guns they'll start taking what seeems like an extra bullet to kill me and my friend both noticed it earlier
Subbed your channel
Finally someone that talks normally about this game 😂
It’s amazing how far the player base will go to avoid acknowledging the game they play runs terribly
Activision literally have a patent outlining real time gameplay manipulation systems. All you have to do is look up the patent, if you’re choosing to look the other way or pretend that’s not confirmation enough, that’s on you.
the new damage system is what makes the headshot challenges so hard
It’s called DDA, dynamic difficulty adjustment..it can alter any encounter based on a number of variables such as paid skins, meta weapons, and skill..EA also uses it “supposedly”…
and since youre smart enough to know what its called, you can see exactly which games its in legally...ie...not in CoD at all
@ and what evidence do you have for such a claim “ not in cod “, riddle me this, why pay someone to develop and code an algorithm, patent it, only not to use it, make it make sense, I bet you believe in the US political system and support/listen to politicians as well, have a seat small brain
Bingo
@@GhotofvaderTV because you can read in the patent which games its in...its pretty simple bud, unless you can't read i guess. Its exactly the same as how we know the exact day Activision put in EOMM, if DDA was in CoD we would know it, because for them to legally protect their investment into DDA they have to disclose its there for it to be protected.
finally someone calls it what it is. tencent also has patents related to manipulating gameplay parameters
The servers are inconsistent. Had an opponent sneak behind me and spray a full mag into me but I still was able to turn around and kill him.
Just play the game. It's so obvious that they're messing with you midgame ore even at the start of the game.
Pocketburst, desinck, spawned out in the open with players already aiming at you, enemies spawning behind you.
It's a complete dog💩 experience and it's defenitly happening.
I don't beleave a biljon dollar developers bs. They're 100% manupulating the gameplay.
It used to be that If I got 2/3 headshots or a mix of head and body, that I'd win the gunfight, vs someone who got 4 foot shots on me... shot placement doesn't matter at all anymore...And that's a balance issue, not a realism issue (as people always like to point out how COD isn't realistic, in defense to poor balancing decisions)
Make shot placement matter again! Promote/reward skill vs just aim assist window wiping to the foot/legs.
Don‘t play for 3 months, first game you got just headshots… magic 🤷♂️
its just aim assist if you watch he doesnt ever hit every shot
I didnt even know this was something people were talking about until getting recommended this video.
But I was playing yesterday and could have sworn I suddenly started doing way less damage mid match. Was usung the AEK, getting several single burst kills at the start of the match - no headshots. After that, I couldnt kill anyone even after two bursts at close range, with 4 or 5 out of 6 bullets hitting.
I’ve played more hours than a healthy male should in fps. There’s something going on after a few good games. The 5.56 and 7.62 turn to hit marker machine. I’m not crazy at least it’s being brought up
i think it is more likely that they intentionally don’t register hits every so often if you’re a good player
I have no proof but I have felt this phenomena for years
I never heard the term "skill based damage" before, but I sure felt it in the game.
I could play some matches without noticing any issue, but sometimes, I hop onto a game and I litterally feel like killing ennemies is harder than before, to the point that I once said out loud "Why does it feels like I'm doing less damage than the previous match ?"
So either it's true, or I get placed in laggier lobbies, or I play against more experienced players who manage to kill me first every time, who knows, but there is definetly something I swear.

@ no dude, Activision the publisher of Call of Duty has the patent for it, which is why players suspect it is being used in the game. In the event that they are using it and not telling us, they would make it hard or impossible to test for.
As an older gamer, 57, I've noticed for years that playing early doors was alway better as far as my kd was concerned. The sweats don't rise until mid afternoon.
Yer it's true
I play MNK and this is the most brutal COD to date. Imo making headshot multipliers so useless is a direct nerf to MNK players. Even with great recoil control and aim, a 1v1 against sticks in alot of scenarios are borderline unfair
Try a ping test and send 40 50 intervals on fibre. You'll get 0.2 sometimes up to 0.5% late packets on wireless, meaning there's sometimes a tiny delay or stutter, too which adds upto the conspiracy of skill based damage
