the whole system was horrible but I somehow got the Damascus for it. Gun levels are abysmal, the riot shield is the worst with getting 5 kills without dying like 20 times
11:59 no, if you get 30kills in a game that counts as 2. You don’t have to play 100 different matches just get as most kills by 15 as possible in a match
Same, to me I regret it, the camo was okay but not nearly as vibrant as I’d have liked, and my main issue was that it didn’t cover the entire gun. Nebula is way better imo
Black Sky in Infinite Warfare wasn't unlocked by getting gold on every post launch weapon, COD IW had another weapon category called "Classic" weapons, and you got Solar for getting gold/diamond on every base weapon, you had to unlock classic weapons through specific classic weapon tokens unlocked in alternating prestiges starting at prestige 1, meaning you had to be a minimum of Prestige 9 and then unlock gold/diamond for all of the classic weapons, and so if you did that and also got the Solar camo, you would unlock Black Sky.
MW 2019 was the first camo grind I ever actually finished, despite growing up with CoD and playing almost religiously since BO1. Damascus never felt so good
id like to throw in an honorary mention to spectrum in ghosts. it wasnt a mastery, but it looked so clean and was uber hard to get, that it basically was its own mastery
This year is probably my favorite camo grind cause its more casual. There's no weird annoying challenge you have to do to get gold (besides point blanks) and if you want to just play causally you would be able to get gold without even trying.
@@lukegibb1967 compared to every other challenge they are LOL its not hard just annoying. The only good map to do it on is Stakeout and you have to queue and leave games if you dont get it. If youre doing it on other maps you just have to either camp in a corner or full sprint at someone and die and die until you get them. Not really fun gameplay in my opinion but I guess for corner campers like yourself its not annoying LMAO
BO3 was the first time I actually grinded out the guns for Dark Matter. All my friends were talking about it, and I knew I had to get it, lol. Advanced Warfare Royalty was actually interesting. I actually ended up finding a glitch early on in the games life cycle where you could get royalty without fully doing all the guns for a specific class. They did patch it within like a month or 2.
Great video! Btw, to get gold on COD4 you didn't need to max out every single challenge, you just needed to unlock Red Tiger for every weapon in that particular category. And on Black Ops 1, you only needed prestige 14 to be able to buy gold camo, not prestige 15
I wish you would’ve mentioned when they switched gold/diamond unlocks to require challenge completion. The last cod I got diamond in was bo4 and back then as soon as you got gold on every gun in a class, you’d get diamond on every gun. It felt great to get that all at once overall completion. Now in bo6 you need unlock gold on every gun, and then go back to every gun and complete the diamond challenge. It doesn’t give that satisfying BOOM of achievement
We need some recognition for dark spine man. Thats probably the best one they ever made thats not animated colors and stuff like dark matter. It actually looks better on a few guns
Interstellar is just breathtaking, it might just be my fasicination with the stars but there’s just something so captivating about that camo, it really just tickles your eyes I guess lol.
The obsidian paint for MW 2019, you could continue to the next 15 kills in the same game. Meaning if you played shipment 24/7, and you got 60 kills, it would count as 4 games. All the current CODs have this same feature as well
I think CoDM should have gotten a mention for how its mastery system relied on a player getting EVERY GUN up to the current season + it was SERPEN - NITE for the green camo in MWZ
You left out that on game release for BO4, the diamond camo only changed on NO DEATH GUN KILL STREAKS. I Had gotten it (and luckily recorded it) where it was 35 gun kills no deaths and the rainbow effect was different. a month or two after it was changed to the participation trophy we all know as 35 gun kills and die as much as you want. Thanks Treyarch.
These camo tiers keep leveling up like eventually you'll have to turn your neighbor over to the stasi or in another mastery level sacrifice a limb, or even kill a your first born child
I just finished the nebula grind for all the guns in Bo6 the other day. It took a long time but I’m glad I have it. I feel like I can finally just play the game and not feel the need to go for challenges. My only complaint is that the knife doesn’t really change colors like the guns when you use it. I hope it gets fixed
black ops 4 has the best mastery camos. that game was so good tbh, the grind didnt feel too bad, the ttk was a little rough and the hud obv but that game was underrated

I have to disagree, I think Damascus is super underrated, its one of the best looking mastery camos ever and I like how it was a completely unique take
MW2019 was the only CoD I got a lot of mastery camos on. The challenges weren't all amazing, but they also didn't feel super tedious all the time. A good balance. Also got my Obsidian AK. Bless that gun. MW2:2(2022) had a great system as well. BO6 doing back to just headshots seems kinda regressive
The Dark Matter grind in BO4 was pretty fun. Wasn’t too hard, wasn’t too easy. Perfectly balanced! Then I went for the Damascus grind in mw19 and that grind was not fun at all😂
Cold war is the only game i actually grinded camos for and it was in zombies only... 1) plague diamond is so gorgeous. The bright purple and the purple diamond gems. 2) dark aether was so much more vibrant and better looking than DM Ultra.
BO4 was the first cod i actually grinded diamond on and man was it worth it. they need to do more camos that evolve as you play but then that would mess with them selling the stupid bundles i guess
2:03 honestly I miss the MW2 mastery calling cards. They were so fucking good. Especially the animated killstreak ones like nuke one was such a fucking flex
I actually really liked the MW2019 camos, sure they were underwhelming but being that demascus guns are a real thing it added to the prestige feeling of getting them. Also you didnt need demascus for obsidian, so the obsidian camo was actually a really nice alternative for folks that would rather grind out 1 high end camo on one gun they liked instead grinding guns they didnt like
The no level requirement for BO6 sounded good until I played and saw that you couldnt even use a special camo youve unlocked until a gun has completed it's main challenges. I'd rather have level requirements tbh
