I should have watched this before I pop the cap off. Old faithful it was! I finally found the filter plug put it in but I never turned the filter to closed. I did turn it off tho!
I’m an in ground pool owner, I’ve taken over the mantle after my grandfather, I took it from 3 years of its own ecosystem, to a beautiful swimmable pool. I wasn’t happy going from a DE filter to a sand filter but finances take precedence. BUT. Your videos were very informative and helpful for me getting things in order.
Tried today! Works like a charm. No more getting my feet wet! Awesome job!
I usually just put a tennis ball right in the top of the skimmer line, seems to do the trick 🤷♂️
I’ve seen the valve more commonly placed under the skimmer basket versus on pump end of hose…does location matter?
The valve is usually on the pump, however you can put the valve in either location. Thanks for watching.
I really need your help. The top on my strainer housing is soooo much more difficult to open than yours. It's so hard to turn. I bought the lubricant you suggested for the o-ring and it's still so hard to open. It's a slightly different top than the one you have- there's just a clear sort of handle on the top. It also makes me nervous to open because I think with all the movement and pressure to get it off, the connection to the rest of the filter seems less stable (although that could be in my head). Any ideas to make this more doable or can I get a cover like yours?
Lubricating the o-ring on the lid really good should help. Try opening and closing the lid several times this should also help. If needed you can lubricate the rim of the lid and the rim of the strainer housing as well. Thanks for watching.
Great video Mark. What's your thoughts on skimmer plugs (the hard piece of plastic with a foam backing that you place in and out of the mouth of the skimmer)?
That can work as well. Thanks for watching.
I just purchased a house and I can’t read anything on my valves and which position I need it to be in to recirculate position
It depends on the valve that you have, recirculate is usually at the 8 o’clock position with the filter position at 12 o’clock. Thanks for watching.
I need to know what chemicals i can use on my above ground pool, its new
For an above ground pool l would recommend using chlorine or Baquacil. Thanks for watching.
Looking for granular chlorine that i can mix with water first, so not to ruin liner and its design@@HallmarkPoolSupplies
isnt Baquacil expensive, i'm not familiar with it. did find on amazon though but no granular
Check with your local Baquacil dealer for all the benefits Baquacil has to offer.
