    Skateboarding shoe = good driving shoe because of its design to feel the board better which allows you to do the same with pedals

    I came to look for some ideas for some shoes to do my Uber driving in. You saved me some money as I realized I had your #1 pick in my closet somewhere already and busted them out. They're part of my "uniform" now.

    Not a single at all mention for the Puma “Speedcat” lows or mids. These are a casual clothing brand with racing history also 16 out of the 20 drivers last year wore this model driving shoe that was also capable of long pit walks outside the cockpit. I got the Puma Speedcat Ferrari Corso versions and they are absolutely beautiful in the suede/ faux red and signature Ferrari logo. Definitely give them a try people!

    I own a pair of Mexico 66's and i have to agree. They're amazing for driving, especially when driving on the local mountain roads :)

    Whole reason why this video gets credit is for that last mention. Stumbled across some Tigers in 2011. Realized they felt better for driving than anything else. Plus they look good. couple dozen pairs later, and I'm still buying 2-3 a year if the right color combo pops up! The The Onitsuka Tiger Serrano are also a great shoe as they have a lot more flexibility.
    That aside, I have to take a closer look at those New Balances. Look proper to me !

    Surprisingly my Calvin Klein dress shoe are really good for shifting. The shoe is long and low to ground so you can really feel clutch grab

    • @boxcarvisual
      @boxcarvisual  2 года назад

      That really is surprising! A dress shoe with an elevated heal? Come to think of it... I had an old pair of buck shoes with rubber soles that ended up fitting so well that they would have been a great driving shoe. Thanks for the insight!

    Very useful suggestions. I like the fact you gave a green signal to loafers and boat shoes. They are very comfortable to drive in.
    I expected Puma BMW or Scuderia. Seems there is a good reason they didn't make the list.

    Puma Super Liga shoes. Indoor soccer shoe that is great for driving with a thin sole.

  • @fifthgear93
    @fifthgear93 2 года назад +1

    Any thin skateboarding shoe is great for driving, all your vulc vans, emericas, nikes, fallens, lakai, etc, or thin cupsoles like Nike SB Force 58, Nyjah's, eS Accel Slims etc. The ones which are more uncomfortable to drive in are the thick bulky basketball or skateboarding shoes like the Air Jordans, Dunks, eS Accel Og's, Etnies Faze and shoes of that nature. In reality those bulky shoes are made for impact protection, which isn't always suitable when it comes to precision with the pedals. You would know how hard it is if you've ever tried to drive manual with snow boots.

    Try Xero brand. Zero drop running shoe. Slightly wider toe box than Puma speed at, which is good for heel/toe shifting in a car with standard pedal spacing.

    I think he should have mentioned
    -Vans authentic- after they wear in the pedal feel is amazing and a little less rigid than the old schools making them more comfortable
    -Adidas sambas- alot both they are a soccer shoe they are very durable and share similar build design with some of Adidas old racing boots they used to make
    -Puma speed cats- literally racing boots in a low top style. They feel horrible when walking in pebbles but they are designed as driving shoes having all the hallmarks one needs

    • @boxcarvisual
      @boxcarvisual  3 года назад +5

      Thanks for watching! Speedcats are great, but I didn't include them because they're basically purpose-built driving shoes... I wanted to think out of the box a bit and give people options that they might not have considered. I'd love if the video was sponsored, but sadly... not quite there yet. Feel free to spread the word!
