A delightful tapestry of ear tingling sounds! Frisky and sparkling, fresh and vivacious, superb!
Brano davvero straordinario, un genio.
Lovely! It goes nowhere in the most delightful way! 😊
his work is too beauty...I've never heard him before. I'm loving him. thanks.
So love this. Pure joy.
Jean Francaix was one of the living composers whose music I often heard in recitals in the late 1970s, and his music rarely failed to please the audiences.
He and Jean-Michele Damase were two of the most prominent composers of the 20th century in France, representing more traditional composing than Messaien or Dutilleux, who, for some reason, get more attention by the establishment.
@@nonenoneonenonenone So cool, thanks for sharing
Brano davvero straordinario. Compositore ricco di genio e molto divertente da ascoltare, la sua vena umoristica è onnipresente.
Triste que ce compositeur soit tellement méconnu en France. Ce concerto est très beau.
Je l’ai déjà rencontré
Charming and pithy, as one would expect of Françaix.
Bewundernswert!
Such a delightful piece of music.... I literally fall in love with it... how come it’s not played often?
Alas ! This question may be asked about many works.
We need this in a wes anderson film, then everyone will love it too
Check out his sonatina for recorder and guitar! It's one of my favorite post-baroque compositions for recorder.
Un lavoro delizioso, a tratti toccante.
Questo canale non delude mai e meraviglia sempre.
What a delicate music for harpsichord and other instruments! Usually, the harpsichord is completely obscured by other instruments - this is for instance the case in many records of JSB harpishord concertos. Here, everything is quite clear. A jewel.
I think the recording was very processed, as the instruments seem to be on different tracks in different rooms.
It's a very beautiful music, played with exceptional skill and an impressive interior feeling. A delightful listening experience, and fabulous Leo Stans !!

Sì, davvero geniale. Peccato per me averlo scoperto soltanto ora.
After listening to this piece, listen to John DeLancie playing the Flower Clock, by the same composer in the same year. (1959) You will hear many similarities, kind of giving you a sketch of what was on Françaix's mind at the time.

Really wonderful recordings, both of them. DeLancie's recording with London and Previn is, in my opinion, one of the all-time great recordings of any kind of music. Just the technical mastery not only of the performers and Previn's impeccable taste as leader, but also the mastery of the engineers who recorded it. Compared with the Clavecin Concerto, there are many similar phrases, with literal quotes buried in different parts, and moreover a familial sound to the harmonic structure. Françaix seemed to be working through something, wanting to use as much of it as possible in each thing he wrote. Light-hearted, sweet, sometimes saccharine, but never out-of bounds, he creates a world of his own not paralleled by other composers, though unmistakably French.
Thanks a lot....I will listen John Delancie...
I'm just coming from that clip on your suggestion :-)
Great piece!!

Your channel keeps posting great music, but I am afraid RUclips will close it sooner rather than later, as they did with many channels which posted similarly good art. It's a pity.
Hasn't happened yet!
Seven years later... :)
9 years later, still here. 😄
