This guy is very good at this. I remember a time when he could have made lots of many as a corporate software instructor. Truly a labor of love, this stuff.
Fantastic! Thank you so much, Kev. I've had Scarbee Funk Guitarist floating around in my NI plug-ins for years, and haven't used it because I've never taken the time to learn it until now. Great tutorial! Helps me out a lot. I appreciate it. :)
Very nicely organized and presented video. This plug-in is adorable - doesn't try to be anything more than what it is, and that makes it one of the best.
Im linking your lessons to my tutorial page...I love the way you do this and keep things simple, it also makes me smile sometimes in a positive way, I dont know why, but I guess youre blessed with some dry humor...
Excellent tutorial! I'm an "intermediate" level user, but I always learn a few new tricks from your vids. I like how you achieve a happy medium for both basic and advanced users. Thank you for you time, effort, and talent.
Got chops to spare, patience, and a seldom seen ability to get the point across. Got me to delve into Kontakt and believe me, that's a lot to say. You're a natural Audio Guy. Merry everything to everybody all the time. ;)
Such a great video. You made this VST that had me baffled that I hadn't bothered with it before so simple to use in less than 10 minutes!! Fantastic tutorial.
Thank you for this auto; very helpful. Like Kevin, I never took the time to get into it. Now, 1 question : out of the DAW, is it possible to set a tempo ?
Hi Kevin finally thanks to you..a clear and concise explanation about scarbee guitar..However I ask you where I find the wha wha..that you are playing in the background? which company do you think..sells a plug inn of wha wha..controllable for mac..?.
Ok, très bon tuto. Lorsque j enregistré une mesure avec scarbee funk dans logicpro, a l écoute cela déborde largement de la région et le riff continue de jouer sans s arrêter ? Merci pour votre aide.Michel
2020 and this plugin is still relevant. Its part of a bunch of plugins from the Komplete bundle. I'm going to use it to generate phrases which I will resample back in for boom bap loops.
You did a wicked job of showing how to customise chords, adding a pre-set groove, and finally combining both...But what about creating custom groove layouts? Possible? Thanks in advance!
+RUclipsAudioGuy hey is it possible to use this as a typical midi instrument? where i can play it like a piano by pressin midi notes ? im totally new to this guitar instrument.
Hello Kev, you did a video some years ago on - how to get the Marcus Miller sound using Guitar rig in Logic Pro X . I was wondering if you could tell me what is the best way to duplicate the pedals settings in a live setting? or, maybe I can use those settings in MainStage Thanks
Hey great vid... very intuitive.. i'm pretty sure the strumming pattern i need(in terms of rhyhtm, down strum - upstrum etc) will be included in the presets but can i also control this? so hold down a em7 and then a long down strum, quick upstrum etc? and most importantly does it have samples where you "slide" into a chord?
Excellent tutorial. I must say I'm struggling with Scarbee Funk Guitar. It plays fine when I'm just messing around with new ideas, but as soon as I hit 'record' it starts to hiccup and jump around, and just won't play the riff. PC has loads of memory. Have you ever come across this?
Great video, really cool stuff! I'm wondering how you send program change information to Guitar Rig to toggle between the two user presets (aka "YTAG Wah 1" and "YTAG Wah 2".) I'm using Logic Pro X, so unfortunately the download files you made available of the project don't help me out. If you (or anyone else) has any insight on this, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Hey Kev - Can you help? I'm using this software but experiencing a massive delay when attempting to trigger notes. I haven't experienced this before with Kontakt. What is the solution? Excellent tutorials - D
Oh, another question! From what I understand I can create my own strumming/arpeggio patterns. Correct? (I was thinking about classical or flamenco guitar tremolo)
Hi! I love your tutorials! I have a question for you (I am a trained musician, but not experienced with these tools, so I am sorry if it's a dumb question!): do I need a MIDI keyboard to compose using NI tools or could I control everything also from the score directly? Do I make sense? Thanks!!
Hey, thanks for the tutorial it's very useful! Little bit offtopic: what is the track in the end of the video? Very hottie guitar coming to it on the very end! I need that track! :)
+Twin Island Studio It's all about selecting the right strum pattern. There's a ton of stuff to choose from, you need to listen to each of the presets and find one (or the portion of the preset) that suits your need. Thanks for watching!
+amin boujlida Tempo is determined by what tempo your DAW software is set to. You can speed up or slow down just by changing the tempo number. Thanks for watching!
I've had this VST for ages and not used it because it didn't make sense to me. Your tutorial helped me use it, but I think the VST itself is horrible to use. I expected to be able to play chords on the keyboard and have the VST recognise what I was playing and strum along with me. But instead you have to map chords to keys, which makes no sense because you run out of keys quickly and end up mapping a Gsus chord to a C key or something similar. It wrecks my brain as it makes me approach making music as a programmer instead of a musician.
Your videos have been an eye-opener for me. Training videos like you are much needed for learners like me. I would like to know if the function can be set up as the Insessionaudio guitars finger playing pattern (www.insessionaudio.com)?
I had no idea how to use Scarbee Funk Guitarist until I watched this video. Thank you so much for laying this out! It all makes sense now.
literally the best tutorial for Scarbee Funk Guitarist on all of you tube, you're great!
Clear explanation. Thank you Audio Guy!
You save the time for lazy folks who don't like to read the manual.)
This is the BEST tutorial that I have viewed yet for Scarbee Funk Guitarist! Thank You, Kev, for sharing your wisdom!

Best tutorial on NI Funk Guitarist on youtube, I couldn't figure the dang thing out. Thanks for the video!
Very nicely organized and presented video. This plug-in is adorable - doesn't try to be anything more than what it is, and that makes it one of the best.
Thanks for this, finally somebody explained well!
I love your no nonsense approach to teaching!
Im linking your lessons to my tutorial page...I love the way you do this and keep things simple, it also makes me smile sometimes in a positive way, I dont know why, but I guess youre blessed with some dry humor...
Thanks for breaking it down in a clear way. Great job man!
Excellent tutorial! I'm an "intermediate" level user, but I always learn a few new tricks from your vids. I like how you achieve a happy medium for both basic and advanced users. Thank you for you time, effort, and talent.

Thank you so much Kev. Great tutorial all round. And still an amazing instrument.
Got chops to spare, patience, and a seldom seen ability to get the point across. Got me to delve into Kontakt and believe me,

Great idea, I'll try to cover that in a future video. Thanks so much for watching!
+RUclipsAudioGuy hey is it possible to use this as a typical midi instrument? where i can play it like a piano by pressin midi notes ? im totally new to this guitar instrument.
Fantastic but can we play it in different BPMs and different tones?

Great tutorial.
+Karl Davis
Much thanks Karl, I appreciate you watching!
One question: Is it possible to use other rhythm than 4/4 too (like 3/4 6/8 7/8 etc)
Great tutorial, very helpful. Thanks.
Kev how do we find/set/or change the TEMPO of this plug in?

Nevermind, got it! :)
Good work. I understood everything you said.
is it possible to alter the bpm to be separate from your track?
Hey Kev - Can you help? I'm using this software but experiencing a massive delay when attempting to trigger notes. I haven't experienced this before with Kontakt. What is the solution? Excellent tutorials - D

Thanks Kev
Thank you for watching and commenting Thomas!
This instrument is good, but the user interface is awful, it's just so un-practical and counter-intuitive. Thanks for making it understandable!
Like any great tool with a lot of versatily, there's a bit of learning curve!
Thanks!
