    Nice tutorial. A very sophisticated way to do the wah, and a great introduction to controls inside Guitar Rig that I didn't even know were there. Thanks.

    I figured I'd post this to save people a lot of time. This video was so good but Kev kind of iced over the MIDI program change process. It took me about 30 minutes to figure it out but it's so powerful it was worth learning.
    I'm using Maschine and I had GR as a plug in after FG. I could not figure out how to do it in that configuration because the midi controller kept focus on FG and not GR so it wouldn't learn the MIDI message.
    So, I put GR on its own sound slot and pre faded an aux send at -7 db from FG to the GR sound slot. I turned the volume on FG all the way down so only the aux send could be heard. From there it was easy.
    Click on the GR sound slot and now the midi controller has focus of GR. In GR, on the left hand side click Options, then Controller. Click New Controller. Click or right click on the Menu button to the right in the new controller dialog box. From there you will get a listed menu with sub menus. Find the Preset Selection, go over to Jump To and select one of your Preset names. Now assign a note to it by hitting it on your controller. I chose C-1. Now, that Preset will be selected each time that note hits. Repeat the same prices for the second preset. I assigned D-1 to it. Finally, program in the MIDI notes, hit play and you can see that GR is now changing presets. This should all be very similar for any host.
    Good luck and thanks for the fantastic video.

    thanks for this great video and for being so good with video instruction in general. i love the speed! if i missed something or didnt get it i paused or rewound accordingly. so much more time efficient than going slow and plodding through what your viewer may or may not know. i wish more video tutorial makers would take this into consideration.

    Hello again, AudioMan - now due to you I have now learned how to create
    a live sounding wah via Rig 5 - but how to generate program-change between
    the two sequenser preset from the midi-track well, that is one more thing I
    never tried. So do you also have a demo on how to make program change
    coming to Rig 5 from a midi-track ? Best Regards from Torben, DK

We, I, need an instructor who has the understanding of how a real guitarist would approach programing realistic guitar parts and Funky chord progressions with Scarbee Funk Guitarist to fully utilize the functions of this plugin.

    Can you not just use a real MIDI wah pedal?? I was planning on picking up an am audio that I am waiting for I'm back order for this exact purpose. I've seen some writings about something changing between guitar rig 5 and 6 causing expression pedals to no longer function. Is this true?

    Isn't there an easier way to do this, such as assigning a midi slider on a midi controller keyboard to control the pedal on the Guitar Rig
    ? Seems way too convoluted to me.

  • @alangoldman6146
    @alangoldman6146 10 лет назад +2

    Way too complicated . . . wouldn't it be easier to have a quick way to set up an expression pedal to control the wah directly in real time? Even that setup seems tedious to me, at least within logicX. I wish musicians rather than engineers designed these DAW's and plugs.

    • @KevTheAudioGuy
      @KevTheAudioGuy  10 лет назад +5

      Hi Alan. Real time wah is cool but not everyone plays guitar plus you can't easily store and recall performances for later use. It's also a beast to edit should you want to make changes. The advantage of this workflow is that you can make changes quickly without having to rebuild everything from scratch. You can also store a ton of amps, wah presets, glitch presets, gate presets (or any other type of real time effect), recall them instantly and mix and match different amps with different effects. Thanks so much for watching and for the great comment.

    • @alangoldman6146
      @alangoldman6146 10 лет назад

      In Logic X I was able to map the wah pedal of Guitar RIg 5 using Logic's Learn feature to an expression pedal, but Amplitube's Wah for some reason would not map via Learn either solo or through Logic's learn. Not sure why. Anyway thanks.
