      Its way cooler to master an instrument than mastering that software. The fact you can play guitar is awesome and a gift for life. I play the piano for 14 years haha and I'm happy I do, I'm also learning in music production and master the software is really cool because it brings your music to a next level, but nothing is like mastering an instrument🙌🏽

    I am 60 years of age and I started playing gtr at 14 on an island in the Solomons called Bougainville..Ive never heard such beautiful clean guitar parts except by friends who are consummate professional guitar players. Incredible to listen to and I cant wait to use it instead of playing the parts on my Breedlove...I cannot record it with that kind of clarity and Ive been working in studio environments for over 20 years. Unless you have 100 grand of mikes pre's and a great floated separated room you would not be able to track a gtr like this sounds..flippin heck!!

      Native Instruments has a gift for making libraries that sound larger than life. Their Scarbee Electric Piano, their The Gentleman piano, the Electric Bass plugins, etc... I compare them, either to the real thing, or to a very accurate library, and they don't sound like the real thing... they just sound like if you mixed and mastered a library to sound perfect. I feel like that's their edge as a brand - to make libraries that require little to no mix work.

    • @theoriginalheartstrummer
      @theoriginalheartstrummer 4 года назад +1

      @@auxorion I disagree actually. I have always found it incredibly difficult to mix in real instruments with their sampled instruments because there's so much processing on every part from every drum in a kit to these guitar parts. Very difficult to blend them with real instruments. Like it's all or nothing. But maybe that's just me.

    • @arturomizraim2011
      @arturomizraim2011 3 года назад +2

      @@theoriginalheartstrummer I find that Reason sounds are easier to mix than Native, but these last ones sound quite better. My point of view is because impressive sounds require more space (the whole frequency range or almost) and synthetic sounds lack a lot of harmonics. When few tracks, majestic sounds are better, if there are more, you have 2 options: synthetics sounds or applying notches in real sounds. (I expect to be clear,, English is not my mother language)

    • @Daring2Win
      @Daring2Win 3 года назад +1

      @@JAAHUNGHAAM Much of this you may already know, but I won't assume anything; this is a sample library whose sound is only accessible via MIDI using a computer and MIDI controller, so unless you have a guitar MIDI controller like JammyG (or yet to be released JammyE), there is no way to access the sound via a traditional guitar unless it has some sort of MIDI functionality included. This is primary for keyboardist who can not play guitar, can't afford to pay a guitarist for work(😢), or to use as inspiration for anyone who needs to generate fresh ideas, etc. There is a beautiful guitar instrument included, but this (like the rest of the series) is primarily preset based with strumming patterns, played by live guitarists, that can be tweaked a bit. Basically, you play a chord & the instrument strums it like a guitarist would; it's like an elaborate arpeggiator that uses audio from the recording of a guitarist to strum your chords. The price, when I bought it, was $99 USD. There is a new installment in the series now called Picked Nylon, which I haven't bought. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask anything else.

The day I bought it there was a big producer collaborating with producers on twitch and having people add and send in things live to what he was creating and him and everybody in the room thought I was the best guitar player they ever came across. They were stunned by the quality of the recordings and the musicality of what I played and all I did was copy his midi chords and flip through presets lol. Potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties from the first day of purchasing.

      @@alekjwrgnwekfgn are they though? I've totally lost interest in them. I have just found it so difficult to create original, non-pre-programmed music, such as with their drums and horns and percussion. To get abbey road drums on individual tracks seemed impossible, and to write using session strings as a quintet maxed out cpu and wasn't achievable. To create original percussion lines from Cuban instruments equally limited. To create a nice suspended cymbal? Not easy AT ALL. Even if it was me that just couldn't use it properly, I just got sick of trying to use it in my compositions. Also, these sounds are extremely hard to mix with real instruments.

They are fantastic! I have run a studio for almost 30 years, and worked with great guitarists. If you know what you want to do musically, you can come very close with these in NI. 99.99% of listeners will not know the difference. And you don't have to feel bad after the player goes home, thinking you should've done something different. Or his Martin D-28 was in need of care...This will save me time and money. And it's absolutely great for writing songs on the lap in hotel rooms! Thanks! And Great Walkthrough. Only one thing... Should've bought it 2 years ago....

As an addition: While a pattern is playing, you can play the destination chord slightly before its expected time position, and then, still before the next position, play one of the ending keyswitches G# or A. Then you'll get the downstrum ending that you're looking for.

    Question: When triggering patterns/chords, all you MIDI notes appear just before the beat, but the precise same amount each time. Any significance to this? I'd assume that we'd quantize these kinds of note-ons to on the beat in most situations. Thanks. (splendid video).

    • @SamuelDalferth
      @SamuelDalferth 5 лет назад +2

      Triggering patterns/chords before the beat will give the playback engine time to create a natural sounding transition, but the exact position of the MIDI events doesn't really matter. A little less than a 32th note before the beat works fine. Quantizing the MIDI events works as well, but it will sound less authentic. When switching to melody mode, the notes will be played exactly when you play them (without the pattern engine taking care of the timing).

      I believe it's meant to mimic the actual chord changes a guitarist would make when transitioning from one chord to the next, as it's physically impossible to change chords instantaneously in reality.

  • @jacksimmons4021
    @jacksimmons4021 4 года назад

    This may seem like a silly question, but how do you get the pattern to stop playing and the strings to ring out like at 7:57?

    • @experience_music
      @experience_music 4 года назад

      By playing one of the ending keys G#, A or Bb below the playing range. To end with a different chord, play the new chord slightly before playing the ending key, which itself might be played a little ahead of time due to its arpeggiated nature.

    Now if you would make tutorial videos on how to apply the patterns that would be great. There are none on you tube. I've had this product 4 months and still cannot apply patterns into a track

    I am interested in getting this instrument, but I have a question about Native Instruments' DRM method. I know it uses Native Access. Would I be correct in assuming it is like the Steam of VSTs? On Steam, you purchase a game, and then you can access & update it forever through your Steam account. Is that how Native Access works? There's no hidden clauses like "you're only allowed 3 installs then you have to call us if you want to install it again" or "after 6 months you lose access to the installer"?

    • @MrDovafox
      @MrDovafox 4 года назад +1

      It is basically steam of VSTs. When you own a product, it is completely yours. You can install it wherever you want as long as you have the program installed and logged on.

    Do all of the Session Guitarist have Midi Drag and Drop? I dont recall seeing this on any demo but Electric Mint. Be cool if it was on the others.
