    I have to admit there's nothing like the real thing because it has millions of analog - in between - articulations, but it will sound convincing in any recording except maybe a concerto for solo violin by a real Strad. I can appreciate the amount of work that went into this (not to mention insurance to be allowed to actually touch it) and I think it's well worth the price. Definitely going to get a copy, because this is probably the closest I can ever get to playing one without scaring off rodents and musquitos. Great work NI, love you guys! But it would be cool to add 'unconventional' sounds too, like you did on the Giant 'cinematic' preset (like noise).

    Listened and observed various libraries. This is the best sounding and practical to use solo violin vst IMO. Buying immediately. My only concern is only about legato sliding. It sounds a bit mechanical. However, many libraries have the same issue. By the way, I do not like to fully depend on these plugins or such techs to protect recording musicians and avoid a jobless future for all. Therefore, this is more than enough for me to produce a realistic demo for clients who does not really understand. Thanks….

    Can we expect improvements soon for use of this great instrument within a DAW or notation-program like Dorico. I need to be able to define my own key-switches for all available articulations including additional functions like "Sul Ponte", "Con Sordino", "Bowed", "Rebowed", etc. The limit of 8 buttons is impractical. I own Joshua Bell's Stradivarius as well and that one is more useable. I really love the inspiring sound of this Stradivari (Vesuvius) but you have to give us more flexibility in the interface! - René Damen - composer.

    You guys make it sound great. Sadly I can't get the vibrato to sound good on long notes. I wanted to love this so much, but there is a strange phasing that happens in my mixes when a long note uses vibrato (which is almost always in my music). It's almost like the violin jumps closer to the mic and back into the hall. I have an easier time manipulating samples that have vibrato recorded into them. I would love to know if anyone has had a similar experience and found a way to get around this.

  • @hydlidevlog
    @hydlidevlog 4 года назад

    A small note of criticism here. According to the manual, it states the instrument comes with two patches: Violin multi-mic, and violin (where the last one is a single mic setup to safe resources).
    One thing I am not getting, the original patch is ehm.. around 3Gb in total. Why aren't the different types of articulations setup as individual patches? (I am looking mainly at for instance CineScore / East West orchestral stuff).
    In most cases, I score for a single type of articulation (long, short, or just pizzicato as an example). Having all those additional RAM taking samples which I don't tend to use at that given point. Sure I could hit the purge button, but still, I have to wait for all those samples to load up first.
    Would you please consider to have a separate set of articulations in different patches so it uses less ram. Since I already have seen a promo video that bass and cello are also recorded, and I would assume at this point that having to play those this way would also lead up to an additional 6Gb of ram to load all three instruments.
    I see this more impracticable to use these large instruments to write a score. That is all I am trying to say at this point (the exact same reason why I tend to avoid using session strings in most cases).

    The problem for me is I can't save or load my keystroke setting after define it to my articulation map in Cubase, so I must rewrite my setting every time I create a new project. There is no save or load button or command.

    No sul ponticello or sul tasto tremolo, col legno battuto or harmonic finger tremolo?
    Would be great to also include more of the modern playing techniques.
    The user interface is impressive though.

    Great idea - borrowed from Emotional Violin and Bohemian Violin. From the sound of it, it's nowhere near the quality of either. At least as of now. 6:03 - is that a bad crossfade or samples recorded in a different room? Planning to fix this now or in the paid Stradivari Violin Professional upgrade?

    If this should not be in Komplete 13, I think I'm going to stick with Embertone's Joshua Bell Violin. Has a prettier sound, and perfect legato.

      @@Nicdehouwer Typically they release a new product like this just before the new Komplete - but tend not to include it as it will make them money as a stand alone product first, and then it will increase the value of the next Komplete. I might be wrong, but that's how they've done it in the past. It'll prob be around the £150/$180 mark which wouldn't make sense to include it this time round when owners of past editions will get a significantly reduced upgrade price.

      @@jameshughes7947 the new Komplete, I'm wondering what came in between 12 and 13.. mallet flux, Noire, the scary voices-Thrill one, the Straylight one, the Straylight voices one, the update to Electric Sunburst, Picked Accoustics,... Anything else?
      I've bought Noire, Mallet flux and Picked Accoustics already because they're fantastic, but saved the rest for a Komplete
