Man that was awesome, I clicked to learn more about the virtual instrument itself but ended up watching the whole thing out of intrigue of seeing some of your insights and overall presentation of quality. I know it comes from refinement but I have to double down my efforts on organization both physically and in the software. I feel like your set up is so clean it simply inspires productivity. Thanks for the video will check out more of your content.
This was so incredibly helpful. I bought the quartet package and when I started playing I was like how the heck do I make it sound like the NI demo videos? This video answered that! Thank youuuu
Hi Jef, thank you for your great videos. I'd like to know how I could be able to play a bichord using this library. For example while playing a long note, be able to add another one in tone or semitone interval? I have not been able to do that. I hope you have the solution. Thanks in advance Francesco
Hi, thanks for this video. I'm looking at options for good quality violin VSTs and I'm particularly interested in the portamento options - could you tell me if this VST gives you a good level of control over portamento speed (the speed of the slide between notes). Sometimes the amount of note overlap within the midi layout controls the port. speed to some degree... Thanks, Dave
Sorry but its about diffrent matter people dosnt answer on old videos . Jef is it possible in Halion 6 ,that i can use real guitar connected to pc or its not possible ?
Great video as always Jef I really enjoyed how you broke that down. I can't wait to use what I learned! By the way I'm still stuck on how to play my Yamaha synth sounds thru my MK3! I have it hooked up thru the line in input as well as the midi out from the synth into the MK3. Is it possible to hear the sounds in the synth played thru the MK3? Thanks again for the info as always!
Thanks for that nice walkthrouh. I have one question. What display do you use? Because the ultrawide displays are quiet expensive. Is comfortabel to work with because you are sitting very close? Best regards
Thanks for this. It certainly sounds good... but Joshua Bell from Embertone is my go to choice. No key switches, and it has amazing scripting. You must try that if you haven't.
But joshua Bell is sound little bit artificial at higher notes don't give proper control while live playing in comparison to this library especially I love portamento of this library, yeah key switches are little bit awkward, but once you used to it you will love this...
Wonderful video! Great ! You had tested the Roland Cloud and xv-5080 in cubase? I think the 5080 have great old sound, but before buy I lifetime key, I ask you if you make video or you had older one? I don't found on your videos but I can had a mistake!
Jeff, really appreciate all of your videos! Extremely helpful. Question for you. Would love to see one about your studio setup and more specifically, love the desk! What type of wood is it?
So, Jef, this is on Komplete 13 UCE? And the 900GB are on a HD? I'd hope it's not to be downloaded as Cubase 10.5 was -twice [They give you Cubase 9 then it's another 20GB to upgrade - at whatever pace they send it - can take 24 hours.] The shop didn't tell me Cubase was much cheaper if I were a student. I wonder if Komplete is cheaper for students?
Hi Alain! Yeah it’s on UCE, and it’s all download... but you only download what you need... pretty fast on decent internet. I’ve never seen a student price for Komplete unfortunately!
Thanks for the video. Well presented and gives an accurate demonstration of the capabilities of this instrument. I am actually a bit disappointed with this Violin. Some samples sound stellar, particularly the shorter ones, but where this instrument fails is in the legato. It just doesn't cut it compared to what is on the market already. It often phases and also sounds thick at times. It is too "pitch corrected", "too perfect" which makes it sound unnatural, and instantly gives away it is a virtual instrument. Of course it is a tough challenge to make an instrument such as a solo violin sound good virtually, where so many random events are hard to capture, still sounding natural. I like Native instruments, but in this case, I would look elsewhere for a much better violin sound, and at times quite a bit cheaper too. Such as Embertone (great - two versions and the cheaper one is very good too), Virharmonic (best but the most expensive), Orchestra Tools, Cinematic Studio, and I think 8dio just came out with one that is cheap(er) and actually seems quite good. And I know Performance samples are in the works with something that sounds very promising. Again, I like Native Instruments, but sometimes I wonder how some of their products are passed through quality control. I mean, don't they know what is out already? Another example that really let me down is Session strings pro 2, which is a disaster. And then we have for example Noire which blows everything out of the park, and just gives you loads of beauty and usefulness. Cheers!
Jef very good review.. one question, which big screen monitor are you using ? and which graphic card supports that.. please respond.. I am in the process of building my studio and I love your monitor
Maybe you should ask developer (Probably UI in Kontakt is "drawn" using OpenGL). But what's the problem? OpenGL 2.1 is a standard from 2006 so I cannot imagine current gfx card that is not able to support it.
The runs sounds pretty good actually. I wish the legato was a bit better, but it seems like that's the weakness of most libraries. That being said, it still sounds pretty good! Have you considered comparing this to Embertone's libraries? Specifically Joshua Bell? Great demo!
Is anyone else drooling over this setup?
This was very good! Thanks for doing this as soon as it was released!
Man I absolutely love the sound of this.
Another great review and demonstration, thanks Jef
Appreciate it Mark!
this is so really cool..good job jef
Brilliant vid Jeff can’t wait until this is in the next komplete bundle.hopefully it won’t be too faraway
Thanks! Great video!

Thanks, I just got it and your vid is super nice.
Wow! 🙌🙌🙌
Cool, but how do you kill built in reverb sound?
Can I ask what monitor you're using? Wondering if I could use to expand my Macbook.
man, that sounds gooooood.

Hi Jef.. Do you by any chance know for how long NI will have the intro Bundle deal $399.00 for, and if you think it's worth it.. Please! Thanks!
Thanks for that nice walkthrouh.
I have one question.
What display do you use? Because the ultrawide displays are quiet expensive.
Is comfortabel to work with because you are sitting very close?

Which Tv are you using as a monitor
Is this possible? is there any issues in it?

Hey jeff or other fellow mk3 users How to set individual notes on pads in Keyboard mode?
Wonderful video! Great ! You had tested the Roland Cloud and xv-5080 in cubase? I think the 5080 have great old sound, but before buy I lifetime key, I ask you if you make video or you had older one? I don't found on your videos but I can had a mistake!
Thanks Luigi! I’ve never tested the 5080, post back with your thoughts if you get it!
@@jefgibbons Ok Jef, if I buy I tell you more
Man, what camera u use to film this video? Looks
Pro
Jeff, really appreciate all of your videos! Extremely helpful. Question for you. Would love to see one about your studio setup and more specifically, love the desk! What type of wood is it?
Thanks Jerry! It's a slab of acacia wood from the local hardware store, I didn't do the work on it!
Thanks Jeff for the prompt response! I wondered if it was Acacia. Looks great. I’ll keep watching. Good stuff.

Do I need to purchase this separately or do I get it because I own the komplete ultimate?
Komplete 13 ultimate contains Stradivari Violin.
Thanks for the video. Well presented and gives an accurate demonstration of the capabilities of this instrument.

Thanks Samuel! I need to check out the stuff you suggested... appreciate your feedback for sure!
Chris Hein violin is widely revered as well
@@belewis For me, the best sampled violin is the French violin by Chris Hein......but unfortunately underrated !!
Jef very good review.. one question, which big screen monitor are you using ? and which graphic card supports that.. please respond.. I am in the process of building my studio and I love your monitor
Go back to my videos from October... made a video on it!
Why is graphics card with openGL 2.1 or higher suggest by the this company in order to use this plugin? anyone???

That shirt though!

Thanks Jared! I’ve never used their stuff... might be time for me to explore it!
Gonna wait for komplete 13 bundle during black friday
It reminds me a little of Piazzolla.
