Waste oil drip feed heater

- Waste oil drip feed had to be shut down because it was fixing to explode because of the gas vapors from the feed tube. I've got ideas to easily fix it. I plan to seal the door, move it away from the wall and window, modify the fuel and air manifolds. I also plan to try this burner without the blower. After final testing, I will install the chimney pipe. It got extremely hot and melted the fans and window frame. A lot of the ideas came from Gunma-17. • 最強のストーブ作った!part1 燃料廃油 ...

That fan is blowing much cold air from the behind of it so the fan is probably cold even though the air which is flying around the heater getting hot instantly.

nah that's just climate change scorching the wood
That corner upright is turning black, means it's pyrolised, not burning yet but this lowers the ignition point.
Was thinking the same, maybe he could make a shield from scrap drywall and tinfoil. It needs a good blower fan to move the heat out of that area. Next time adjust the drip feed for the weight of oil, and it will also likely increase the feed rate as it heats up. 🤔

My uncle had a oil drip heater for years but his supply line came in level about 4 inches of the ground and 12 feet long . It dried into a stainless pan inside a 1/4 inch metal box 3x3x3 with a 8 inch nipple into a 3x3x3 box with a 4 inch vent pipe going straight up. Worked great.

Metal can actually burn and even vaporize. I work a CNC laser machine and I see burns a lot on stainless steel sheets. It can catch on fire too if it gets hot enough.
Look at the fans - the plastic is melting
Reminds me of Chernobyl
Looks like a great way to collect on home owners insurance. 👍
That looks like the turbo bomb vin desiel created racing the opening sences in fast 5 when he exploded the car , really cute that you are willing to put your life at risk for this video and commitment to an efficent way to heat the work space
A good safety would be a small holding tank like alot I see that will only let it burn for 2 hours then you manually refill by turning the lever from the main tank.
Someone wants me to build one but have a direct line to a 100 gallon tank. Without some type of automatic oil shut off I wont do it.
looks dangerous
It was, NASA just purchased it.
Naw it’s fine. Just keep a few hundred pounds of firefighting foam nearby
Looks like them rods are getting a liitle warm in the reactor there Yuri.
You know it is too hot when ya have to use a fan to cool a heater 😂!
Looks like somebody was letting entirely to much oil going in. Thank you for sharing what happens when this is done.
Too much oil and too much air, too much fuel without enough air just smokes.
And this is exactly why insurance companies don't want us putting stoves in our garages and pole barns! SMH
This is a homemade stove and not a well-built one. Just like having a manufactured stove in your home, you need to keep the walls heat guarded and nothing flammable nearby. Can't protect against stupid people all the time unfortunately.
This isn't a stove. I think if you had a few coals you have cheap forge. As for safety that's a different story. He is kiln drying workbench too.
Terrible execution building this. The door needs strapping welded to the perimeter to seal the door better. Second the stove pipe should never have a negative pitch. Thirdly the fuel should never enter above the lowest point. This is the worst oil burner I have ever seen by a long shot. I like the idea of using a 100# bottle but…….. 😮
That tank looks like its about to turn into hot glass, lol
glowing cherry red with flames creeping out the closed door, looks perfectly safe to me
Little more tweaking and you got a bomb.
What it's also missing is a proper air-intake. It's pushing the flames out on the bottom
Or the exhaust is too small an that's why fire and smoke go out from every opening?
Don't look like he put an exhaust 😮 that looks like where he put the forced air in 🤦♂️
The flue pipe is down pitched at the flex piping. This guy is building his own cremation device.
This looks absurdly dangerous, I love it
This is why insurance inspections are so important.
Or why insurance shouldn't exist. I don't do dumb stuff like this at my house, yet, I am lumped in with people who do. Insurance just allows this kind of behavior, with little to no consequences.
“We know a thing or two, because we've seen a thing or two.”
Yeah, but when it's not your fault like if a bunch of burglars trash your home or if there's a hurricane, they try to find every excuse not to pay.

Only thing missing is the toddler next to it with a marshmallow on a stick way to short. Oh the good ol days back when pappi had his shop before it caught fire somehow...
What you don’t see in this video is the soot that is being released into the shop.
Ive heated with waste oil for yrs ,i mean 28 yrs ,,,you put wood in the bottom on a grate the oil only needs to drip on the center of the wood at arate of about 1 thousand one ,drip one thousand 2 drip ,one thousand 3 drip that slow the oil will actually petrify the wood and 20 gallons of oil will last at least 3 mounths and about 20 peices of oak wood the shop stays warm at a steady75 degrees and i have 100 gallons of waste oil to burn after the 20 runs out there were 4 of us old men who heated with this because we owned 8 tractor trailers and didnt want to pey to haul the old oil off yall are dumping way too much oil into these things ,,,,it supposed to b saving you money
