Hey Man just wanted to let you know that your video was helpful in my replacement of the front actuator. I ended up buying the aftermarket at Oreilly's, it was the Dorman brand. I didn't want to pay the OEM price but also couldn't get it on a Sunday anyways. It works which is good. Happy I found your video, was helpful knowing that fluid would leak out when removed. I couldn't get the plug out that you removed so I just removed the part and was able to get the plug out to refill it. Thanks again.
Really helpful - the little things are the most important, like how you finagled the ADD up and rearward to get it out, nice to know that ahead of time. My fork was on the far side compared to the new Toyota ADD fork position - I found just turning the propeller shaft a bit allowed me to reposition the splined sleeve inside the differential to line up with the new part - no panic, just kind of figured that out. It's a nasty job on your back for sure - but you're gonna keep a $1200 job below $500. Buy the Toyota ADD online from your dealer and you save like 30%.
I have an 03 sequoia. No sounds from the transfercase actuator or the A.D.D.. Both sensors on the transfercase show continuity. Bench testing the transfercase actuator, I got the motor to spin. Haven't been able to test the A.D.D.. this video was very helpful, thanks! Going to order a replacement and hope for the best. Currently stuck in 4H Locked so it's not drivable.
Thanks. Great video. I'm going to have to do this, so the video is perfect. When I pulled the vacuume hose off, I heard the vacume air repressurize. It must be there to pull humid air away.
Yeah this video is a fucking life saver! Thanks man. It could be edited, haha, but it helped me get unstuck a few times. One trick: because it’s so hard to get the new part in place without messing up the gasket goo I just put it mostly in place and then squirted the gasket maker in place. Definitely annoying to apply it up in there, but makes the next step of getting it in place waaaayy easier.
Hey man may be you can help me . I have 04 Tundra 2wd/4Hi flashing , Replaced rear differential actuator. And Now 2wd/4Hi flashing all the time(stay on no matter what). Without press button .thank you
Having kinda same problem on a 2015 tundra. Stuck in 4w low and when you goto neutral it makes a narly grind sound from transfer case. If left in 4w low it will drive hi or 2wd it will not go and grinds.
Hi I have the same problem but the light only flashes when I go into full lock, which then locks up the front axles and th car is unable to move. Is this the diff actuator that needs replacement? Thanks for the video, very helpful.
@@4runnergodfather158 no it starts blinking when locked. I have to switch it back to 2wd in order to move again, otherwise it stays stuck. Wondering if it's the diff actuator or not.
@@biggabeats have you tried jacking up the car and turning your tires by hand while its blinking? if theres resistance and both tires are turning then your axles are locked, which means your front diff actuator is doing its job. However with the vehicle on the ground, If you are unable to move after you shift the tranny into drive, i think its going to be the transfer case actuator because its not reading the info transmitted by your transmission.
@@4runnergodfather158 Here's the issue on video. ruclips.net/video/CRVozCL7FZo/видео.html @0:35 sec, I'm trying to push the gas but it's stuck. Once I reverse and straighten wheels, it moves again but 4wd will start blinking. Thanks for the input.
@@biggabeats i think i know why,. its because there is great resistance on asphalt (big reason why its not moving)and you can actually break your axles if you drive too fast on full lock. if you try that on dirt or snow, you would be able to move. it blinks because its trying to unlock itself. if you give it a bit omore gas at full lock and your car starts to hop and your tires squealing, then you know its locked in. dont give it too much gas because, again, you can break the axles. im almost positive thats the reason.
I have all the same symptoms on my 2000 tundra except it does clunk when I put it in 4 Lo, I hear nothing when I click 4 Hi though. Do you think it could still be this part in my case?
I've got an '02 with a five speed manual transmission. It shifts into 4WD, both high and low, but when I shift it back to 2WD, the 4WD indicator light stays on. Anybody?

sounds like the transfer case actuator, or maybe try movie your tundy back and forth to loosen it up
Is this the same process for a 2004 DC?
Should be
Good video, Next time get a brighter light as it was hard to see what you were doing most of the time.
Thanks for the video

How do ajust rod in transfer case rod
You’ll need a clamp to pull or a mallet to push it back in. Or a wood and hammer
Your engine was too low rpm I think throttle body some rough idle
