Another educational video. I have a 1998 Dodge ram a bought brand new back in the day and want to keep it going because new vehicles you seem to need a PHD to fix them.
I was always told that for high is 45 miles an hour 4lo is at 0 miles an hour to 15 to 20 now that I know 10 miles an hour will not stress on the transmission that is good to know
dang man, where you guys get that rust bucket? I have a 01 ram 4x4 and not a spec of rust under it like that. but mine has stayed in GA. I get weird wobble like you get in 2wd while in 4wd. Its my first 4wd vehicle so not sure if that was how it was supposed to be or not.
thank you i have a 1994 silverado and in winter it sometimes would not want to leave gear i would have to go up then back down then it would leave 4x4 it has the j shifter style but also has an electric switch. the other day i felt some binding on a turn and got scared i might be having some issues again
Great video. My 1998 Ford Explorer EB 4 x 4 has been binding on tight turns. Now the trans won't even shift into gear through any gear & when I try to shift it back into park I hear a grinding noise, have to turn the engine off to get it back into park to take the key out & it stays in neutral. Where's a good place to start looking at what's the problem?
+@jmail61 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I just got to say the four-wheel-drive on that truck is not what you gotta worry about. It’s fixing the frame because the bed should not go up and down when you’re driving unless you’re frame is bent or cracked or rotted out
I have some issues with my old 1995 4runner, when I try to make a sharp turn is really hard, I need to remove the 4x4 to be able to turn, everybody tells me is normal, but I have my thoughts
So, the main driveshaft can be removed, 4 wd activated and youd have front wheel drive. Or is there a reason why not? But if universals need to be changed but not affordable, disconnect drive shaft and drive front wheel drive. Then itd allow some wear that can even out to catch up for miles put on rear wheels.
Can you make a video on which way the center hubs lock ? I have a 2000 excursion and the letters faded away. I don't know which side is to lock and which is to release. Thank you great video.
hi I have a question so my 1989 toyota pickup I was driving home the passenger side tire went luck on me then it works again then when i check it the locking hubs was hot I cant find whats the problems
basic info with no solution offered. My 2500 ram (4door w an 8ft bed) does the wheel skid, but you never gave a solution to fix it or why its doing this?

Still amazes me, someone that doesn't live where it snows, how much rust on newer vehicles is acquired in such a short amount of time.
easy to understand, very good explanation👍👍
