    Thank you very much for your video, it helped me a lot, it's not stuck anymore, but I'm afraid to activate the 4x4 since for now I don't have any money, and I'm tired, because I watched a lot of videos and none of them helped me like yours, I worked at night and I haven't slept, I'm very happy that after 5 years since you posted your video, you continue to help a lot of people, Thank you.

    I searched for this info all day, only to find "test this terminal to this terminal" and I got so frustrated that I gave up. I watched some unrelated videos, and this finally popped up on my feed. THANK YOU! It's such a simple answer to a simple question, yet so hard to find with stupid algorithms getting in the way!

    Thanks man! Very helpful. I have a GEN 2 tundra. But this explains what’s going on. Right now, I have a wheel sensor. That’s bad, can’t resolve the issue. It’s stuck in four wheel high. So I need to override the position of the transfer case. And put it back in 2 Wheel Dr. so I can actually operate the vehicle properly on paved roads. This is super helpful. Thank you.

    So my question is my why does my light keep flashing when i go 2wd. 4x4 works and engages fine but when i go back in to 2wd and i can hear and feel it the light flashes .I did replace the 4wd high sensor switch and it worked for a few times now it does it again I did remove the actuator and check it everything is clean.. now that i seen your video wonding if i need to pull it and make sure its all the way in. I even bought another transfer case to use the actuator a d it still doesn't work. Any ideas

    how do you knock the shaft back in when the transfer case is still on the vehicle? does the vehicle have to be in neutral and on blocks? or can it be on the ground in park?

    • @DirtBikes_MathGarden
      @DirtBikes_MathGarden 4 года назад +1

      It seems it depends on the year. I have a second gen Tacoma and I am unable to move the shaft in or out (stuck in 4HI [middle position]). I’ve just read that this generation’s transfer case supposedly has a damned locking mechanism to keep the rod from slipping out of whatever “drive” you were in. Really frustrating to encounter this when I thought I could just bang it in. Still looking for more info on this

      I'm stuck in 4 hi as well. Has anyone found a fix?

    • @DirtBikes_MathGarden
      @DirtBikes_MathGarden 4 года назад +1

      Jason Ulrich yes! I just fixed my truck. Was stuck in 4HI. For me, it was my transfer case actuator that went bad. A vacuum hose on it had disconnected, and so water got inside and destroyed the motor and corroded the sensors. The first thing I would do is check your transfer case actuator and see if it is in good condition. I am thinking about making a video on it soon since the information on this crucial part seems to be slim.

    Is there a reason that there would be a lot of resistence against that rod to keep it going back in to get back in neutral? I can move the rod back and forth manually to get into neutral, 4hi and 4 lo. My actuator can push the rod out into 4hi and 4lo, but for some reason doesn't seem to have the strength to pull the rod back into neutral position.
    I know the actuator works because I took out the little spline gear so that the actuator was not under load and it will spin both directions (in/out) when i push the buttons in the truck.
    Could there be an issue with the transfer case itself? Why would that rod be sticking and not going back in? Any advice would b helpful.
