This is very true! I thought I had hit terminal length at about nine months, but I kept going and at 12 months my cheeks were so much fuller. It just takes time, patience, and good habits and routines.
Very well put. And yes it's common to hit a " Slow Growth" phase every so often. But even if your beard "seems" to be not getting longer it will still in fact get fuller/thicker on account the slower growing area catch up on the faster ones.

This is a fantastic video. All so true. My beard seems to shed more than other peoples beard as well. The hairs hit that terminal length quickly but, because I’ve watched the one gray hair grow out and I’ve watched that single hairs cycle. It has been falling out about every 4-5 months and then grows back again longer than before. Pretty cool. I’m also not the best on drinking water etc. so that is probably why my beard sheds more. Thanks Dan!

If I'm asked about how long my beard is I usually give them my length after using a heated brush. That is usually 6 1/2" with heat. Without heat, it very's depending on the day but usually my beard without heat is 3.5-4". If I were to give any advise, it would be to appreciate the process. Take your time in the early stages of your beards growth. I feel this gives you the best chances of reaching your ultimate goal. I also believe it gives you that "bonding" time to be able to get to know your beard and what it needs or what it's getting to much of. If we all shaved today we would all be beardless. The reason we don't shave is what makes is different. Be consistent with your routine, be mindful about the products you use and get to actually know your beard. The rest may very well fall into play. The picture idea is a great idea. It shows results and adds to the story we talk about regularly. Solid video Dan. 👊

Great video, Dan! I definitely catch myself thinking about this exact thing every now and then. I might have to give the picture thing a try and see if I notice any changes over the course of multiple weeks
I used 2 years to find out my real terminal length - only one small trim during that. Before that, to begin with I already had a full beard longer than a business beard. My beard grows fast, but my terminal length is only 4"-8" (for the longer chin hairs). Most of the hairs were in the 5"-6,5" range. During the last year of that growing period I collected hundreds of dropped hairs and measured them 🧐😂. During the last 6 months all of them had thin uncut tip. So I know my results were correct.
Great video, Dan! I often wonder about the middle of my beard, it grows so slow. I trim to keep it even, but I am going to stop for a while and see what happens.
I think my beard def hit its limit a while ago. It hasnt gotten any longer in months haha. Ive been trying to help it want to grow a bit more but its like "nah Im good bro".
Almost at a year and its still like 6 or 7 inches Id say. I take pics and compare it on same shirt like you mentioned and it stays right there. Altho it looks wayyy healthier than it before I started using better products.
is it possible that trying to fix health issues and FINALLY eating right could cause it to slow and get thicker/healthier before start growing again? Cause i notice that since i have been reducing certain things in my diet that berd growth has slowed but it seems to be feeling fuller and overall healthier i just hope that growth will be a part of it. Thanks as always for a great video DanC..as you say..stay beared and stay positive
I have been growing my beard for around 10 months and at best is is only like 4 inches ling I am taking biotin using oils a, bitters and conditioners tI am 67 years old and this is the longest I have ever let my near grow kind of discouraged that it will ever get really long but I am being patient and not stressing over it just letting it do it's thing my mustache just does not grow it's not bushy and long never has been I am hoping the biotin will help that .
What is your opinion of Mr. Rugged leave in beard conditioner? I live in a hot dry environment and have a long gray beard and struggle keep my beard from becoming dry. My beard is about as long as yours in this video.....BTW I enjoy your videos and value your opinion and advise.

@@DanCBearded I hope so! I keep trimming it way down every year but always end up regretting it haha, time to just keep it going! I'd also like to take beard vitamins but branded ones are just not cost affective, would just over the counter biotin and collagen be alright ya think?

Thanks Dan! My goal is to see what a "terminal" length beard looks like for me, but it sounds like that may not be something I will ever be able to tell, or at least not for some years (potentially). After taking in the info in this video, I think I will change that goal to a more realistic "longest/biggest I can get before it looks too whispy" or something. Though I would love to know the full potential of where it could go...
Yeeeah I guess you can keep the thumbs up...but "pop" is what bubble wrap does. SODA is what people drink when it's not happy hour :D I've still yet to incorporate some of the more practical (and obvious) things you touched on, but patience really should be heralded above all else. It and "time" are usually what my responses are when I'm asked/complimented about my beard from someone who is trying to grow one themselves. Most folks I encounter tend to be hung up more on the patches and sparseness, but those two things (time and patience) really are the bread and butter foundation. Beyond that, it basically narrows to "I can give you a few tips, but there's this great channel on RUclips you can check out."
Will you be doing review on LiveBearded bar soap? also any chance you can do a video on washing and conditioning beard if you are a coach or athlete that is outside everyday?
Hey dan c bearded i noticed that to my beard is like stuck on growing like for example my mustache if u was to put ur fingers threw it u would feel spots missing and they don't intertwine with each yet my part's of my mustache, goatee and half on my cheeks hair are getting dark yes but usually my goatee would have been longer be now and everything else follows any tips.
Ok I have a question since we're talking about beard growth. If you start using supplements like collagen peptides it seems to me since your beard grows about 1/2 inch a month so really see results wouldn't it take months of use before you actually start seeing results since the supplement would affect new growth and not the end of your beard?
Yup! Normally should see results in 2-3 months with biotin for example. The cheat code though is to tell with your nails. If your nails are growing faster, almost always your hair is growing faster.
Nope! Your hair grows from the base. The end of the hairs have nothing to do with growth. This video explains the thinning or pointing ends: ruclips.net/video/Po5DfkXygeA/видео.html
I guess I always reach a length that makes it look wild and untamed. Leads to trimming. Would you recommend at point of wanting to trim try heat daily for like a week to see if there is a better outcome..?
Hey just a quick question can you recommend me a butter for nighttime use? I've looked around and there's nothing that stands out to me apart from fancy graphics but I'd rather I asked someone who knows what they are talking about before I go and buy any random butter.
I’m at the point with mine (approx 3 moths) where along my cheek line on each side of my face it’s literally curling up (like those high school kids where there hair curls where they wear there hat). Is time and weight due to length gonna be my best bet? Just waiting it out? Thanks!
Mines roughly 6 inches and approximately 4-5 yrs old got to the length it is now in about a yr or so and basically stopped I use beard wash and conditioner oils balms etc.. which i never tried growing it until i was like 35 excluding my goatee i do have bald patches ut they're covered now and ya can't really tell i took biotin for a few months daily but couldn't really tell a difference so i quit i just figured it is wut it is lol which I do drink a lot of "pop" lol
@DanCBearded ty sir wut u think about the derma rollers they do anything really I've watched a few videos but idk figured if I could fill my bald spots it'd at least look thicker lol

Great video Dan C 💪💪💪
Thanks Bud!
Pop, not Soda, Cola or soft drink. So true!
🤝
Great video, Dan! I often wonder about the middle of my beard, it grows so slow. I trim to keep it even, but I am going to stop for a while and see what happens.
Oh that is exciting! I want to know what happens with it long term. Keep me posted!
I think my beard def hit its limit a while ago. It hasnt gotten any longer in months haha. Ive been trying to help it want to grow a bit more but its like "nah Im good bro".
What length and how long did you grow to get there?
Almost at a year and its still like 6 or 7 inches Id say. I take pics and compare it on same shirt like you mentioned and it stays right there. Altho it looks wayyy healthier than it before I started using better products.
Great video. Very interesting. So promotion of healthy habits mean no more promotion of jerky & pop?
Life is about moderation. I would never encourage people to cut out things they enjoy like pop and jerky. Just do it in moderation 👍
is it possible that trying to fix health issues and FINALLY eating right could cause it to slow and get thicker/healthier before start growing again? Cause i notice that since i have been reducing certain things in my diet that berd growth has slowed but it seems to be feeling fuller and overall healthier i just hope that growth will be a part of it. Thanks as always for a great video DanC..as you say..stay beared and stay positive
I am not sure, but that is a fantastic question and observation!
For 10 months, that is pretty normal growth! Keep letting it grow. Average is .3-.5 inches a month
Great video brother L&R
Thanks RRM!
Awesome video Dan!!!!
Thanks Sam! Loveee the new avatar/picture
What is your opinion of Mr. Rugged leave in beard conditioner? I live in a hot dry environment and have a long gray beard and struggle keep my beard from becoming dry. My beard is about as long as yours in this video.....BTW I enjoy your videos and value your opinion and advise.
I've watched a lot of your videos and wondered if you've ever heard of Ohio Furnace Beard Co. I use their products a lot and they have a scent that I think is wonderful. If you're interested or intrigued a whole heartedly suggest their Berserker scent. It's amazing. hope to see a review of it if you decide to try it. Have a great day. Tim L.
I have not, sorry!
Mine stopped growing awhile ago. 🤨
Constantly trimming it doesn't count! haha jk jk
Good stuff Dan.
Pretty sure I hit terminal length after about a yeard, definitely not as long or full as yours. It's either that or it REALLY slows down growing.
Could be temporary too!
@@DanCBearded I hope so! I keep trimming it way down every year but always end up regretting it haha, time to just keep it going! I'd also like to take beard vitamins but branded ones are just not cost affective, would just over the counter biotin and collagen be alright ya think?
How's the situation now
@@lookeshdas455 still haven't let it get past the year mark. But wer are their now so this year I'll let it flow and see what happens next Christmas, I'll keep ya posted ha!
SODA is what people drink when it's not happy hour :D
I've still yet to incorporate some of the more practical (and obvious) things you touched on, but patience really should be heralded above all else.
Great positive video very motivated 👍
Thanks NZ!
Will you be doing review on LiveBearded bar soap? also any chance you can do a video on washing and conditioning beard if you are a coach or athlete that is outside everyday?
The bar soap is great! And yes for your second question, actually coming this week!
@@DanCBearded ok that’s awesome
Hey dan c bearded i noticed that to my beard is like stuck on growing like for example my mustache if u was to put ur fingers threw it u would feel spots missing and they don't intertwine with each yet my part's of my mustache, goatee and half on my cheeks hair are getting dark yes but usually my goatee would have been longer be now and everything else follows any tips.
Nothing specific outside of the advice in this video. Truly healthy habits and patience
How to grow beard ? I had mine for over years now and ot stopp to get longer 1 year ago ? Are the any ways to get full beard ?
Patience and healthy habits! Good routine with quality products makes a big difference too
Another great video, thanks Dan C. It was pop as I grew up, but now that I’m living in Texas, it’s soda
I wonder if they will ever meet and become... soda pop lol
@@DanCBearded rumor has it that soda pop is their illegitimate child 👶
Ok I have a question since we're talking about beard growth. If you start using supplements like collagen peptides it seems to me since your beard grows about 1/2 inch a month so really see results wouldn't it take months of use before you actually start seeing results since the supplement would affect new growth and not the end of your beard?
Yup! Normally should see results in 2-3 months with biotin for example. The cheat code though is to tell with your nails. If your nails are growing faster, almost always your hair is growing faster.
@@DanCBearded Well since my nails are growing faster as well as the hair in my ears so I guess it's working. :-)
Helpful info as always
Glad it was helpful!
If a hair has a pointy edge does it mean that it reached its terminal length?
Nope! Your hair grows from the base. The end of the hairs have nothing to do with growth. This video explains the thinning or pointing ends: ruclips.net/video/Po5DfkXygeA/видео.html
@@DanCBearded Thank you very much for the response, Dan!
Any time!
I guess I always reach a length that makes it look wild and untamed. Leads to trimming. Would you recommend at point of wanting to trim try heat daily for like a week to see if there is a better outcome..?
Oh for sure! You will never regret waiting to trim
Hey just a quick question can you recommend me a butter for nighttime use? I've looked around and there's nothing that stands out to me apart from fancy graphics but I'd rather I asked someone who knows what they are talking about before I go and buy any random butter.
For sure go with: Detroit Grooming= detroitgrooming.com?aff=496

How do I get my cheeks to fill in?
Video coming this week! Be sure to tune in
That sir is a very nice Chin Curtain you have going on.
Well thank you!
Thanks!
You bet!
ITs called SODA in tx nm lol
Don't you guys call it coke?
I’m at the point with mine (approx 3 moths) where along my cheek line on each side of my face it’s literally curling up (like those high school kids where there hair curls where they wear there hat). Is time and weight due to length gonna be my best bet? Just waiting it out? Thanks!
If you are able to get a heated brush, give that a try! It will do wonders for your beard
Does it always grow back if you cleanshave it? i'm scared i will lose my beard now xD
Unless some personal variables have changed, it should grow back!
@@DanCBearded i'm a hairy guy so hopfully not xp
Mines roughly 6 inches and approximately 4-5 yrs old got to the length it is now in about a yr or so and basically stopped I use beard wash and conditioner oils balms etc.. which i never tried growing it until i was like 35 excluding my goatee i do have bald patches ut they're covered now and ya can't really tell i took biotin for a few months daily but couldn't really tell a difference so i quit i just figured it is wut it is lol which I do drink a lot of "pop" lol
Sounds like you are pretty dialed in! Just keep the focus on healthy habits
@DanCBearded ty sir wut u think about the derma rollers they do anything really I've watched a few videos but idk figured if I could fill my bald spots it'd at least look thicker lol

@@DanCBearded my man thanx
It’s soda pop
I can live with that compromise lol
Ig y’all just don’t understand we play with the wrong ones until we find the right one 😈 same thing goes for women y’all could do everything in life be successful healthy and be a great person in society but can’t seem to stick to one person in your heart and be with them 🤷♂️ let me explain this as a reference I just got told not long ago the girl I was hanging out with said she was not ready for a relationship but was willing to say we have a future together and guess what she was my number one the only girl I talked to the only girl I thought about and the only girl I cared about but guess what she went back to her ex after saying she wasn’t going too. Now look how devastated a person can be I was for sure and this is why I don’t get so committed to one person so quickly this topic needs to be more deeper discussed but I am agreeing with the guy it’s none of her business in the first place and he gave a valid reason “I’m not wired that way” you won’t understand until you have commitment issues i have trouble trusting in females now days cuz it just usually ends in getting heartbroken. I also have a friend who talks and pulls a lot of girls and guess what he’s single because why commitment issues because of females this man was broken his early 20s and decided to build himself up and become a higher valued person in life and now he’s wanting to have fun y’all just wanna clown him cuz of his response lmao I will admit the other questions weren’t necessary and y’all gotta realize he might’ve been secretly tryna rizz it up one calling girls annoying all the time cuz they genuinely can be lmao and how y’all gonna say all this whenever she’s smiling bruh tf also he wasn’t even triggered lmao you rly think a lil phrase like that can trigger someone 🤣 and imagine not reading body language either they all laughed at what he had to say about her lmao he was not once being disrespectful she had a valid question and he had a quick and short answer and do y’all really think a guy would get personal or deep about this topic with females no….
Weekly photos??? what about hourly... ;-)
haha would love to see that slideshow!
Trusted one hope all is well
Thanks Ron!! All is fantastic over here. I hope the same for you!
Thx Dan hanging in there.......Happy early Birthday!
Great video Dan! I actually grew a beard because I have a short face.. 😉😂 and I’m not kidding! 👊🤘
Super interesting! A beard will easily solve that
I’ve been taking weekly pictures. But I’ve really noticed my beard growth when I go to work . I have to wear a beard net and it’s getting harder to contain my beard within the net . 🤣🤣🤣
That is a good measuring tool!
Hi from Sweden
That is awesome! I hope to travel to Sweden one day
Need more patience. Stay Bearded. Stay patient.
Patience is key! It is hard when you are passionate though
I always thought terminal length was 6 years on average.
Challenge accepted!
I love it! Keep me posted!
Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus are pop. Coke, Sprite and root beer are soda!
haha I like that! I have never heard that one before
It's called "sodie." 😂
