@@neurosmos Been growing mine for 14 months. She still don't care for it. But, she did show me a pic of it the other day and said she preferred it that way. It was only 4 months growth at the time.
I've been battling cancer, melanoma stages 1,3, & now 4, for nearly 6 years. I've had 3 surgeries and radiation, but haven't ever been on chemotherapy. After this next surgery, here in about a week, I will be on some form of treatment that will be more harsh on the body. So, does chemotherapy have the same side effect on facial hair, as it does on the hair on head?
58 years old and 4 weeks into my first full beard. I lived my whole life thinking I could never grow a beard as it was so blotchy. My beard looks almost exactly as the one in the video so I guess I am on par. I'm going to give it at least 20 weeks before I trim and decide if I want to keep it. Thanks for the videos Beardbrand
I started growing my first beard 5 weeks ago. 47 years old and going to see what happens by 90days. I have a patchy beard but these videos/beard brand are giving me the confidence to keep growing.....
I'm in the middle of my fourth week growing my beard. After seeing your beard previously and seeing you now, this gives me hope that my beard can become epic too! Thank you!
I am sticking with you on this challenge! I'm only 18 but blessed with what I consider great beard genes for my age. I've never been able to make it for very long past a shorter 1 month beard because I have weaker growth on my chin. But you are inspiring me to stick with it.
Started my 1 year journey for beard and hair growth from shaved scalp and face. I am already LOVING it!!!! Growing out fast and strong. Take your vitamins and do not forget to use your treatments if any! It is awesome!
The fact you got that big bald spot on the left side and can still rock a full looking beard when it's long makes me have a little hope in my patchy beard
Mr420weirdo there’s definitely hope, I have patches just like him...not necessarily bald but just less hair that grows slower. I’m rocking a beard 3 inches below my collar bone and it looks full all around, always getting comments and compliments.
Started growing my beard in April and cut it in August. Started again shortly after. Noticed the beard growth and pattern is noticeably different. More hair than before if you can believe it on an already thick beard. Been blessed and cursed with this beard and a deep voice since the age of 12-13.
Now THIS is the most informative beard video I have watched. I want to learn how to care for my beard and style it, but this is dead useful information. Thanks, mate!
Regarding hair below your shoulders: “we’re not heading there I don’t think...” it’s cool watching these after the fact. Of course you did go there and have just cut it back again . 😊 I did not know that about different parts of tour beard going terminal a different rates. With every video I watch, I find out how much more I didn’t know about beards.
I'm 37 and watching your videos made me decide to grow a beard I've never let mine grow more than a month, only my sides are little patchy but seems to be filling in it's been a month and half so far.
Thank you Greg for doing this. You are an inspiration! I have almost the same patchy spots in my beard as you. They kept me from growing it out for a long time, but seeing you do this and seeing the beard you had I know there is hope and I am now starting my beard journey. I am almost 2 months in.
Unfortunately my mustache is very thin and terminal at about a half an inch but it improves yearly and I am almost 21 years old I have hope of growing a respectful beard in a few years and I hope none of you will ever feel negative about the growth before the age of 30,there is still hope

I’m at five weeks right now. My sideburns seem to be growing faster than anything else. My cheeks, which were patchy for the first four weeks, have filled in really nicely in the last week.
Your beard is freaking awesome! That's about the same length I want to grow it along with a huge mustache (if genetics treat me well). I'm 5 weeks in, and it seems pretty decent for a 19 year old dude.
Great video Greg! I am also about 5 weeks in. Listening to your counseling and encouragement has given me greater confidence in my beard journey. Thanks!
good video im blessed i guess i have a full thick beard its at 7 its still growing your videos are great i have learned lot im in my 60s i hope it will keep growing i take good care of it thank you for what you do
Got very much inspired to grow the beard I have now thanks to your video's. Nobody in my family is really able to even grow a beard but I (luckely!) do. Actually really enjoying maintaining it all too!
Another great beard educative video; thanks Greg! Those "terminal" terms and facts were just good to know! We love learning more and more on beards and staches!
I started to grow a mustache at the latter part of my fourteenth year. It wasn’t hard or coarse and didn’t really lengthen out till I got into my fifteenth year. Now of course the stache I got just keeps on growing out and is coarse hair and thick. It took a longer time till the rest of my facial hair started to grow out. But it was all uneven in my twenties and not until I was thirty five was I able to finally grow a decent and all red for the most part, beard. I’m 56 now, and my beard is almost all grayish-white.
Every time I think about shaving my beard off I watch one of your videos for motivation. I've never let it grow this long. I started with a guy goatee for 3 weeks, then started a chin strap beard. Then 3 weeks later I stopped shaving completely except below my Adam's apple. So it's many different lengths. It's a mess, my wife likes it. I've never had a professional beard from and I'm 51. It's about 3 months old. If anybody knows of a good beard trimmer in the San Francisco Francisco area I'd appreciate it. Big fan of you Greg.
im on day 41 of my yeard, my moustache is growing all uneven half is longer than the other side. my soul patch grows fast, normally I trim that the most, but slight below that the hair doesn't grow past like eyebrow length. for some reason this time growing my beard it's growing more towards under my ears! thanks for the great content as always!
Just as you described. My beard at the center of my face is coming in slower. I actually noticed it after week 3. My original thought was it was due to rarely shaving those areas of my face. Thanks for the update.
I just turned 52 and I noticed new face hair growing out in places on my face that were patches now filling in. Does anyone else notice they grow more hair on the face as they get older?
Your Videos are really great! I‘ve seen it last week for the first time. Well, now in the age of 53 i’m a beginner. It’s the end of my first week, but not the end of growing. Greatings from germany Ralph

My hubby to be had been growing his with yours and his is the opposite his mustache and goatee/soul patch area are dense and on his sides it’s more sparse. I’m just so happy it’s growing back!
I dont know if im doing the right thing, but the way I deal with the different speeds my beard grows is triming more the parts that grows faster, so the areas that grows slower are able to reach... At the end I notice that my beard looks fuller and like a big one piece
I always thought that my hair growth was very weak and other guys half my age are growing much better. But now comparing to you, I really can't complain much. I have about the same result as you at 6 week
After 5 weeks my beard is typically a quarter inch long. Having grown my beard out for 10 months now, I still haven't noticed anything going terminal. Even my soulpatch is still growing, despite it being slower than the rest of it.
You definitely know what you are talking about and that makes your content even more interesting to watch 😊 I must have had a full 7 year growth period for my beard because I have had my beard down to my stomach (well might as well say ZZTOP beard lol) but I shaved it and now I have been growing it out for about 8 months and it isn't growing as fast as it once did, now of course I am much older now and it has been about 20 years since I had it that long so maybe age has something to do with it but yea, I don't think it will get that long now, but we will see 😊 everyone that has followed me here on RUclips has known me with a beard so I won't cut it again so now more than ever, I am anxious to see how it will end up. My mustache would be much longer than it is if I haven't been cutting it loke I do though and seeing your beard makes me wonder about all I could do with my mustache lol. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge my friend and God bless 😊 if you would be so kind to reply and let me know if age can have a barring on growth or not. The reason why I question it is because age has definitely not affected my head hairs growth by any means as you can see in my videos 😊 I do need a hair cut for sure there lol
Great video! I've been in great need of this kind of information, hence I am always concerned if I will ever get the beard I want. Although I am young and hoping that my mustache hasn't given up on growing.
I think my whole beard is terminal. I may just not have it in my genetics to grow a big full beard lol. I've been growing for 6 months, using shampoo, beard oil, brushing, etc. and seems like I've reached the pinnacle of my beard growth. Love the videos Greg, keep it up!
My beard growth starts to slow down around the 5 inch mark. Which will take it roughly 10 months to grow, with a little trimming maybe every couple of weeks. At around 3 inches the left side also tends to curl outwards and the hair is much thinner compared to the right. So I trim the right more often to let the left side sort of catch up. I'm 38 btw.
Facial hair isnt like head hair, trimming doesnt promote growth. A wise man once said. " You will never trim your way to a long beard" it's very true. Let it grow in length of course maintain the sides, but leave the length alone . If you didnt trim you would have had 6+ inches at 10 months, just let it be and you will see.
@@carterhall2653 I've grown a yeard twice in my lifetime. First time was about 8 years ago. Waaaay before the whole beard boom kicked in. The second time was around 3 years ago. So I've had my fair share of trial and error since way back then and would say that I'm quite familiar with the process. Trimming every few weeks is a must for me. I'm in a manager position and have to look presentable. All im really saying is, that my terminal length starts pretty early, compared to many of the über beards and yeards+ we are shown on social media etc.... It's just different for everyone and no one should hold their expectations up to anyone else' standards.
I gave it a shot, startet growing My beard for the first time after seeing your videos, and Are around week 10 or 12. Thank for the great videos and tips it helps alot. Cheers from denmark.
This gentleman drops serious knowledge. I feel like all of the videos on RUclips are just young cats trying to push their "video sponser" and they don't have the years of experience this guy does.
I am 34 years old, my beard grows that long in 50-60 days on the sides (including the sides if the chin where it's strongest), moustache and neck, but in 90-100 under the leap and the centre of the chin.
I don't have that issue my moustache grows like crazy but I've never grown it out, but I am now I think I could grow the moustache at least half way down my lip.
I used to have a 6” long beard. I felt like it stopped growing so I cut it off. Big mistake! I felt so sad afterwards lol. I just started on Valentine’s Day 2019 on my Yeard journey. Gonna make this happen again and I’m not cutting it this time. Love your beard btw.
Day 36 here. Slow growth on the cheeks as expected but just starting to get long enough to cover some skin so appears thicker than it is. Thanks for the updates.
Well, it seems my curly beard already needs longer due to its curlyness, but it looks thicker that way. Now it might have hit a wall, but in that case I simply accept what God gave me. In the end, it does its job - keeps my throat and partial face warm and/or protected.
A beard normally develops towards the end of puberty. The most common ages at which it manifests, varies between 13 and 16 years, usually starts with the whiskers, lower lip and a few strands on the chin, it is normal to have only that until the age of 16.
Wow that makes a lot of sense about the French fork but I’m quite the opposite which took me so long to understand this concept. the strongest growth is always down the center of my lip and chin while lacking behind to a strong degree on the sides of my face, but I do have an extreme issue with my beard going terminal, my beard is constantly shedding and saddens me that I can’t grow a beard beyond 3 inches even with a full year of growth
Yeah, I started growing my goatee out 15 years ago and it stopped growing about 6 inches below my chin years ago. My beard is very thin. The genetics I was pre-determined with.
I had cancer. Lost every hair I had. Normally, I shaved my head since I was in my early twenties. I'm letting it go out of spite now. Haven't trimmed my face since October.

Looking good, Greg! Glad to see your glorious beard coming back!
You are my beard idol. Thanks for your insights and example
Greg is a great idol to look up to. He is making a ton of videos on the Alliance channel as well!

I gave it a shot, startet growing My beard for the first time after seeing your videos, and Are around week 10 or 12. Thank for the great videos and tips it helps alot.
Cheers from denmark.
You sir have the perfect beard genetics and should be proud.
Man you could rock a Kratos beard
This gentleman drops serious knowledge. I feel like all of the videos on RUclips are just young cats trying to push their "video sponser" and they don't have the years of experience this guy does.
I am 34 years old, my beard grows that long in 50-60 days on the sides (including the sides if the chin where it's strongest), moustache and neck, but in 90-100 under the leap and the centre of the chin.
Good informative video. The best kind. Thank you. Answered the questions I had and more.
Some Ainu people in old photos can grow moustache hair so long it's hard to tell where the moustache ends and the hair below the lip begins.
Thanks Greg
I honestly think you should let your hair grow long, I think it'd suit you well.
Day 36 here. Slow growth on the cheeks as expected but just starting to get long enough to cover some skin so appears thicker than it is. Thanks for the updates.
Thank you I enjoy your video because beards haven't been trendy best way I can describe only a short time enjoy your information on it
This is probably the most interesting and educational beard video yet. 👍
Great video.nice to see ya growth..coming back.im on a fresh start..4 days growth!! Haha
welcome back man good luck dont trim
I dunno why but this man looks so wise
I'm at two months and greg has almost caught up to me
yeah man I'm at 8 weeks and I think he has caught me haha
Different beards grow at different speeds
@@gaminglegend just measured mine today it's almost two inches long but since my hair is so curly and dense it looks way shorter
@@Zakzattak Same
@zhyacoub Couldn't agree more about the curly bit.
I never noticed until you pointed out that the spot under my lower lip only grows to about an inch long.
5 months on my yeard, no terminal lengths yet! It's ALIVE!!!!!!
God bless !
Sorry, Greg. I'm not even listening all that much. Just admiring your lovely growth so far.
Looking awesome. Happy holidays.
So at 7:45, it said you can lose terminal hairs. Does that mean the new hairs coming in won't be terminal at that length?
Well, it seems my curly beard already needs longer due to its curlyness, but it looks thicker that way.
Now it might have hit a wall, but in that case I simply accept what God gave me.
In the end, it does its job - keeps my throat and partial face warm and/or protected.
A beard normally develops towards the end of puberty. The most common ages at which it manifests, varies between 13 and 16 years, usually starts with the whiskers, lower lip and a few strands on the chin, it is normal to have only that until the age of 16.
great vid.
Greg officially has a full beard now!
Interesting. Never really thought about it but my mustache and soul patch has slowed down or stopped. Thanks!
Another great video Greg.
