I also am going to try and style my beard along the same pattern as you have. I just hope my wife thinks it looks as good on me as she did you. Thank you again and looking forward to your next
Once I started to lose my hair, pretty fast around 25, my beard growth really sped up. Is that coincidense or normal? " I did not go bald, my hair just moved to a better place" -Some dude on the internet
No it’s not a coincidence, the DHT hormone that causes hair loss is what promotes beard development. Usually people with really thick beards also start to bald. It’s not always the case Bc there’s some lucky mfs out there lol
We're about the same age and I remember how preoccupied I was as a teenager and in my twenties. The space between my mustache and my beard didn't fill in as hard as I tried. Daniel-- I have not had my ears pinned. My face is broader, and my sideburn hair is covering more of my ears. My ears, like my nose, have actually gotten a bit bigger as I have aged, and I think that they hang lower now.
I’m so glad I found this dude. Legit changed my life haha. I gave up so many years ago, then at 34, found this dude, and tried one last time….and like magic, it’s actually happening.
Now that was encouraging. At 22 I tried to grow a beard for 3,5 months, and the result was awfull, so I decided to shave it off. Now I am 24 and I have a 4 month old moustache (no trimming, going for a handlebar) and while it is by no means as impressive as my friends beards, after I had been growing if for 3 months I actually started to recive compliments for it, and, more importantly, started to like it myself. I had no idea that beard growth continues to develop for so long, because most of my friends had full beards when they were 16 or 17. Thank you for making this video.
I couldn't grow a halfway decent beard until about age 35. Even then it was still a little patchy, but it filled in pretty well once I was patient enough to let it grow for a while.
@@alanfernandez2598 Not touching it at all. Only use beard balm to shape it. This is because I was going for a long beard from the start that I wanted to sculpt. I did trim away some annoying fly away hairs, but that is all.
Greg, I see several common questions asked of others and shared below. But, one I perhaps missed seeing listed is whether my beard is "hot" to wear in the summer (here in Texas). *** Regarding beard fullness and aging, I'd only add that most young men have rather scarce nose hair, little if any hair growing randomly from their ears. But, there is that age many of us hit where these become grooming issues we have to take care of. Sometimes, eyebrows, too, where errant long hairs develop for the first time at some more mature age. These are other indications of "changes" in hair distribution/hair characteristics, that it can go on for a very long time. There had to be dormant hair follicles for those hairs to begin growing . . . and, the same can happen over extended areas of one's face. You'd be a good example, sort of a statistical outlier, of one who had the follicles; they simply were not genetically and environmentally ready to show themselves. Why? Who knows! Brad
At 46 my beard is still filling in. For the first time in my life I've actually forged ahead and been growing it since November (now Jan 2020 so 2 solid months). I'm def thinner on my left side than my right side, but I've been overall pleased in letting it fill in. Thanks for the tips and it's nice to know that there are others, few though they may be, in my same boat.
I think a lot more guys’ beards get thicker and fuller after their 40s, it’s just that most continue to assume they can’t grow a beard and so never grow it out to see.
Looking good Greg! I'm a prior service civilian working with the military. Most of the comments I get from the envious, clean cut service men and women I work with suggest my beard gives me super human strength. For example, if they are having trouble with their work that requires some strength they shout, "Bring that beard over here." Or if I'm having trouble with something they say, "Use your beard." I joke that I am a "professional pickle jar opener." The only negative comments I get are from my dad. He always tells me it looks better when it was shorter, or the old take one step closer to the razer joke.
My profile pic here was about 10 years ago at age 45. At 55 I am growing it out as a full beard for the first time in my life. Like Greg, I don't think I was able to grow a full beard until around now. But also, until I found Beardbrand videos, again like Greg, I never got past the 30 day marker. I am now 6 weeks in and I can tell it's going to take a full six months but I can tell with the knowledge I have now that I will be able to have a much better looking beard eventually but I have to get through these awkward months. Thanks to Greg Brezynski and Beardbrand. Because of Beardbrand and Greg in specific I am looking forward to seeing what is to come. And I'm now enjoying the journey.
That picture of you at 30 has filled me with hope! I'm 24 and can grow quite a thick beard on my cheeks, sideburns and neck but my chin/soul patch and moustache look exactly like that photo of you at 30 and it frustrates me. I also have the same bald patches either side of the soul patch/chin as you in the photo. Hopefully over the next few years all of this will fill out and become thicker with more coverage. I'm gonna keep faith.
I started growing a goatee in my early 40’s. It wasn’t thick at first but I stayed at it. Each year I noticed it thickening up but could not grow a good beard. I am 64 now and my facial hair is still coming in. This year I tried a beard once more for about 10 weeks. Still a little patchy but much thicker so for me my facial hair is still coming in and before I’am 65 I believe I will sport a full beard. I never thought about the process of growing a beard so I appreciate your thoughts on the process. Beard On!
From one Greg to another, I must agree with you. My beard journey has been much the same and at 58 it is still growing and filling in. Part of that may also be the way I've styled it over the years. Unlike you, I've had a full beard since I was 16 albeit much fuller and gray now. Most of my adult life I kept it trimmed to about a #5 but a few years ago I decided to do a Movember challenge and trimmed it to a #1 and decided to see just how far I could let it grow from there on. To my pleasant surprise it grew and grew and I liked it! Then I discovered I needed to grow my neck beard out to backstop the facial and jaw line length for a full, thick appearance. I really appreciate your insights. You went all out on style in this vid and I must say I'm impressed with your mustache, I think I'm just a bit too lazy to keep that look up though I have had it. Cheers!
I don't style my moustache daily---maybe twice a week. It's harder in the summertime with high humidity. But people always compliment me (and it) when I do.
Questions or comments I get (in no particular order): "I thought you didn't need to do anything or groom it, I thought men just let the beard grow and that's it" (from women) "I don't really like beards, I mean they're itchy or something" (from women aswell) "When will you cut your beard? It's too long, it's not attractive" "Hipster" "You look like a Viking / Ragnar from Vikings" "Everybody has a beard these days" "You look like a bear" (from women) "You look like a lion" (from women) "How long did it take to grow that long?" "Why don't you trim your beard yourself? It's easy, just get a razor, no?" (I prefer going to a barber, it's just well done and I like being taken care of) "Do you often get food in your beard?" "You don't need scarfs anymore right?" "Can I touch it?" "Oh my God it's actually soft, I thought it would be itchy" I think the list can go on :D
Haha yep, all of those ring a bell. One of the best questions I get is "What products do you use?" or "Do you use conditioner?" That tells me that person understands I didn't just let my beard grow by being lazy and that they are genuinely interested.

I have been fortunate to have a full beard since my teen years and experienced some remarks that were very hurtful. It took me a very long time to get over . I know where you are coming from. Keep up the good work Greg you inspire quite a few guys out there.
I must commend you on your epic face furniture, myself ive had a goatee since my early 20,s and it seemed to me after i let it grow on a regular basis when i shaved it off for a fresh start the patched id let grow grew back in much faster than the rest . Since i hit 40 my facial hair growth has gone crazy allowing me to grow a pretty astounding handlebar with a pointed goatee and wicked sideburns , im now 44 and ive decided to go full on beardy its been growing a month and im starting to get that north atlantic fisherman look , i can't wait for it to be longer / chuckle , thanks for the video :D
What I will say may not apply to you Greg; I have seen than most men going on TRT at age 40-50 saw a huge development of their facial hair. The light and translucid hairs that everyone has since birth can only grow and become dark and thick (terminal hair) with the right amount of Dihydrotestostérone (DHT) stored around the folicle. This hormone is the result of the transformation of testosterone in the folicle by the enzyme 5 alpha reductase. It is known than after 25-30 years old (on average), the testosterone decreases by 1% every year. It is still possible to just being able to grow a full beard at 40-50 by getting the right amount of DHT around the folicle even with the tesosterone decreasing but most of the time, it's because of the high level of testosterone coming from TRT so easily prescribed, especially in the US.
I was saving this for another topic.. I do know guys at the gym who have Used testosterone replacement therapy and did indeed increased the density and coarseness of their facial and body hair. I might add, while sacrificing their head hair. Although some of these guys made it have been using more extreme enhancements
Who would be offended? Your beard is a testament to your hard work and patience with your facial hair, you good sir are a poster child to some people for facial hair and I hope to obtain enough fortitude and patience to rock a full beard 😁 I’m currently growing my beard from a vandyke with handlebars to a full beard wish me luck gents.
Loved the video. I am 60 and mine continues to grow in. Still patchy in places but have always previously made the number one mistake...I kept cutting it. I will give it at least 3 months and see what happens.
Like you Greg, my facial hair is still filling in and I'm almost 53. The handlebar stache I had at 24 was loaded with wax to make it look full. I shaved that off and it finally grew in when I was 27. The beard has frustrated me to no end and I just shave it when I don't get the results I want. Maybe I'll find patience for my beard someday.

I adore successful rich down to earth good ppl. Keep up the good work greg and beardbrand.
Such a professional. I’ll bet he’s a toast master.
Wow I really can't picture the grungy guy in the old pic sounding so serene.
As I've gotten older my demeanor has become more chill. But, I'm really the same guy that I was when I was 30
I think the hard work required to become successful and probably building a family tends to have that effect on people.
have you done otoplasty?
Daniel-- I have not had my ears pinned. My face is broader, and my sideburn hair is covering more of my ears. My ears, like my nose, have actually gotten a bit bigger as I have aged, and I think that they hang lower now.
Cyberdyne Systems what fuckin book
I’m so glad I found this dude. Legit changed my life haha. I gave up so many years ago, then at 34, found this dude, and tried one last time….and like magic, it’s actually happening.
He seems so humble, I could listen to his voice for hours
Greg really is a classy and wonderful gentleman to listen to

Now that was encouraging. At 22 I tried to grow a beard for 3,5 months, and the result was awfull, so I decided to shave it off. Now I am 24 and I have a 4 month old moustache (no trimming, going for a handlebar) and while it is by no means as impressive as my friends beards, after I had been growing if for 3 months I actually started to recive compliments for it, and, more importantly, started to like it myself. I had no idea that beard growth continues to develop for so long, because most of my friends had full beards when they were 16 or 17. Thank you for making this video.
I'm glad you like the video. Many things can happen even within 6 months as your beard continues to come in ....keep on going.
I couldn't grow a halfway decent beard until about age 35. Even then it was still a little patchy, but it filled in pretty well once I was patient enough to let it grow for a while.
I’m 18 and just letting it grow
Just use minoxidil...
Same here, it grows pretty well on my chin. But not on my cheeks at all, so after growing it for like 3 months. It looked pretty ridicolous.
I've been growing a beard for about 5 weeks. The attention that I've received is priceless ! It seems a beard can make you more attractive and sexy !
Just wait until you have grown a beard out for a 3 months, 6 months, 1 year! Guys get some serious beard envy.
Troy, I can hardly wait !
Troy Remy when you say a year. Do you mean by not touching it at all or cutting off some parts?
@@alanfernandez2598
Not touching it at all.
I honestly don’t why I’m here
I’m an 18 year old girl but I’m loving it tbh
He is captivating
I'm 25 and I'm confident this dude could steal my girl..but I would be honored haha
Lmao
If this is true then you are in trouble.
No man,Idgaf what his beard looks like, is gonna steal my girl.
@RevanExarKun nope just keeping it real
Beta mentality
I think a lot more guys’ beards get thicker and fuller after their 40s, it’s just that most continue to assume they can’t grow a beard and so never grow it out to see.
I agree. A unknown loss of potential great beards!
I’m 5 months into my yeard next week, I love the journey I’ve been on so far. Go beardsmen 🧔
Keep on growing.
Keep going I myself am at 1 year and 1 month I’m going for a 5 year beard
Happy 5 months! Almost halfway there!
When my beard starts looking thick my family members' adrenaline kicks in and I have to shave it.
What do you mean their adrenaline kicks in and you have to shave?
@@AL1KH4N That they probably criticize him and tell him to shave it off.
So freaking true, lmaooooo
Tell em to mind they business. Your beard not theirs
Distinguishing, classic and OG. You rock.
I started growing my beard at 13... so yeah im a vet.
Same but I hated it & shaved every day. Now I’m 18 & gonna give it a try
Questions or comments I get (in no particular order):
"I thought you didn't need to do anything or groom it, I thought men just let the beard grow and that's it" (from women)
"I don't really like beards, I mean they're itchy or something" (from women aswell)
"When will you cut your beard? It's too long, it's not attractive"
"Hipster"
"You look like a Viking / Ragnar from Vikings"
"Everybody has a beard these days"
"You look like a bear" (from women)
"You look like a lion" (from women)
"How long did it take to grow that long?"
"Why don't you trim your beard yourself? It's easy, just get a razor, no?" (I prefer going to a barber, it's just well done and I like being taken care of)
"Do you often get food in your beard?"
"You don't need scarfs anymore right?"
"Can I touch it?"
"Oh my God it's actually soft, I thought it would be itchy"
I think the list can go on :D
My list goes on and on too...
How long is your beard?
The most annoying ones I think are you look like Jesus or you could be a thin Santa.
lmao that one is so true
Haha yep, all of those ring a bell. One of the best questions I get is "What products do you use?" or "Do you use conditioner?" That tells me that person understands I didn't just let my beard grow by being lazy and that they are genuinely interested.

Umm no. The Holy Trinity is the only one true God and king of all.
@@westcoastchristian734 you're obviously insecure in your spirituality if you can't even see a joke comment about an ancient God that hasn't been worshipped in thousands of years without having to tell us all about your God and about how awesome he is. Imagine if every religion was as insecure as you Christians, we'd have a whole thread of insecure people commenting "no Allah is the true God" "no Krishna is the true God", "no Shiva is the true God." It's actually quite pathetic.
I am one of the lucky guys who now at the age of 37 have a beard thet grows nice and thick and fast. Great video thanks...keep growing💪
Greg, I was that guy. I could not grow a full beard until I was over 40. At now 57 I can grow a very long and heavy beard and my first "yeard" growth was at 54-55 and was 8" in length. My head hair grows just as fast.
The best question:
- Doesn't it bother you?
after years of bearding...my response:
- I'm more bothered by those who ask these questions
Im 33 now and now my beard stard coming in 😂😂 but so happy 🙏🙏🙏🙏
haha nice
Good story. Nice to know my beard is always developing.
Dude...you look like a freakin god. The whole look, the style, the elegance...them freakin eyes...damm... I wish i grow to have at least half your style knowledge. You are amazing!
I'm 41 and for the first time in my life am growing a successful beard with a little over a month in. Before this year it was always super patchy.
Thank you for your feed back. Just recently my husband is rocking a full beard and I love it. I totally get questions directed to me like the ones below and I find it offending that it bothers others to why my husband rock his gorge beard..This is great info to relay back to husband. Btw you look gorge...gl
Thank you for being one of the awesome women that dig a natural beard. It is seriously 50/50... some women compliment my beard, and others give me a look of disgust. Kudos to your husband for being one of the guys that isn't swayed by modern culture to have a baby face!

This mans beard is a prime example of a well-kept beard.
Sorry jack black.
I've grown (in this order) sideburns, a moustache and the chin's starting to grow in
And how old are you now?
At 21 I can 't complain about my sideburns and beard under my chin.. but my chin itself is really taking it's time.
Sideburns moustache cheeks
@@jobkramer560 im almost 16 and my order is, moustache, chin and im still waiting for sideburns and rest
What I will say may not apply to you Greg;
I have seen than most men going on TRT at age 40-50 saw a huge development of their facial hair.
Wow. You look literally 100% better now at 50 plus, compared to back in the day. I salute you, sir.
Hes so beautiful. He has a kind face and a wonderful voice
Beard tip #1: you gotta go with what you grow
Wise words to live by.

Stay Thirsty My Friend! oh wait, wrong guy LoL
You rock man, keep up the good content. 👍
Thank you!
"When I was 30" WAIT YOU'RE HOW OLD!? Picture at 50. WHAAAAT!? I genuinely thought he was no older than maybe 42-45
You must be blind
I was thinking he was in his 60s not 40s
42? Lol. Your dad has a bad life.
Nice video. I am growing a beard for the first time. I use to always keep a goatee. But now
I want to see what it is like for a full beard with length. Wish me luck and keep up the great
vids!
Mech did you grow it out?
I'm 26 and after 2 months of growing my beard, I still see new little hairs showing up! Gives me hope that one day I might look like Greg
Thank you for telling truth about beard growth products it's taking my husband 62 years to grow his first beard ever even trying plenty of times before but failed but didn't give up and I'm happy he didn't. We enjoy your videos & please keep them coming. P.S. Can you do a video on your wife's opinion about your beard & hair style choices. 😊
What types of beard oil do you recomend for making my beard look voluminous/full?
Thanks.
Grew my first beard at 30, shaved it off and grew my second one at 62.
Greg, you have the most beautifull beard. It truly looks amazing
Late bloomer here, 47 years old and haven’t shaved in a month & half. First time growing a beard. Have a few patches but notice micro hair in between or underneath the longer facial hair. I didn’t think I could ever grow a beard then again I never tried. I think as you get older you can grow more facial hair. I know I couldn’t get this far when I was 38 yrs old.
as someone in their early 30's with a patchy beard, it was nice to hear that there's still time for it to fill out
That beard and moustache look majestic and magnificent
Hold up bro I was starting to grow a mustache at 11

goatee and soul patch were the last to grow for me, and the moustache is taking its sweet time. I started with side burns, now im just waiting for the connectors and soul patch to thicken up. 18 years, almost 19.
This actually just gave me a lot of hope. I'm 31 and my facial hair is very similar to the pictures of Greg at 30.
