How To Defrost In A Microwave-Easy Tutorial

In this video, I show you how to defrost in a microwave. It is an easy way to thaw food in your microwave without actually cooking the food. Most people have this feature on their microwave but don't know how to use it, so it ends up being one of the most unused features on all microwaves. It is actually simple to use, and after a few tries you will have it down. Most microwaves will have various options to determine the defrosting times, so be sure to check the manual to find out how to set yours up properly.

If you're still unsure, there's a brute force way to do it, probably on all microwaves:
The short version of the info is: Google "how to defrost _______ in microwave" and it will tell you how to defrost it by using the cooking power button and how long. Not all meats or veggies cook the same so be specific. Oh and flip your food a few times as it defrosts. If you don't want to google that, I attempted to relay the Google info in the following jumble of words:
for Veggies its like 40-45% power, for most (but definitely not all) meats, it is usually 8-10 mins per pound, at 20-30% power (start the cooking at regular power, then press the "power" button, yours may say "Cook Power" or "PWR" or something else but you get the idea, press the power button, then press 2 for 20%, 3 for 30%, 45 for 45% etc) this works for nearly all meats. Bigger chunks of meat require longer cook times and lower power % (your microwave will tell you the range of weight it can defrost, I assume in the 8-10 minute per pound range but not 1000% sure). 1 notable exception is boneless chicken breasts, its like 2ins a 50%power regrdless of weight, then add another minute at 20% power per ever 1.5 pounds, it's weird, I'd recommend just Google "how to defrost _____ in microwave" so you can be sure I didn't relay the info wrong, also I'm not certain this info covers all meats I'm no scholar just a guy who did a Google search and left a comment on a random RUclips video.
