I've been a daz user for a very very long time. I've probably spent hundreds if not thousands since the original victoria model came out. Last week I downloaded the trials for cc4 and ic8. I knew I wanted both after I imported Aiko 8 into cc4 and saw the results. Cc is awesome and so fast! Good tutorial you made here. Thanks for the tips!
Thank goodness, I have been searching for this exact video for two weeks. I'm not trying to create footage just trying to sell rigged characters on the market. Not sure what making a rigged character is so difficult. Thank you for this info. You should really have a millions views and a million subscribers.
Man so awesome what your doing on this channel!!! I started school for 3D art 8 months ago but soo much can be learned just from your channel. Thank you!!!
This is superbly helpful as a recap of many of your longer tutorials. Quite good! I would like to see something about the Skin GEN plug-in and how you go about using that to improve the look of the Daz 8 character in UnReal 5. I own the plug-in and use it now and again, but I would appreciate your insights into how to use it for this purpose!
Thank you for the excellent tutorial video, I was able to do it exactly as you showed and it helped me a lot to finally get it done. So far it's the best video I could find that includes all the steps. Thank you.❤️👍🥰
Thank you for the great video, especially the last few minutes of how to make Daz characters look decent in the UE5 via CC4. I too would love to see even just a short video on how you would use SkinGen Premium for this. I think this Daz - CC4 - UE5 route might just be the most practical option for solo indie developers trying to achieve realistic-looking characters for now. MetaHuman head on Daz body could theoretically be better, but there are no perfect solution to accommodate any types of clothes yet. Such a shame, as MetaHuman really does have that 'wow' factor, but it's so face-centric.
I will do a Skingen premium video. I like this pipeline because, once a character is converted, I can just drag animation from any source into CC4/iClone8 and it just retargets automatically. Also adding accessories is easy and the auto weight painting feature is pretty good. I have been trying to crack Metahuman heads on CC4 bodies but whenever I retarget the head is not in sync with the body. I am in the process of modifying skeletons and experimenting to see if it can be achieved. But I need new skills to move forward, which takes time.
@@Jobutsu You could take a still picture of the face and use either face transfer on DAZ3d or headshot on CC4 to have a daz character / CC4 metahuman style you want inspired by MetaHumans and use cc4 bone structure.
Daz3d skins can definitely be used and make look good we just need more time on CC to make it look good with skingen and later some tweaks on Unreal that's all. Also have you tried working on any armors from daz3d into unreal through cc yet ?? I am pretty much scratching my head to make it work without distorting the mesh !!
Yes, I have been making an animation with a character on a horse and trying to get the armor to look correct. I still can not get it to work correctly. I will :)
That is great. Thank you. Can I smooth body mesh more in CC, right? I just bought iclone and CC because of the Black Friday deal. I will use them mainly to animate Metahuman. But I would swap heads. Nothing can beat Metahuman face.
Yes you can smooth and now export that smoothing in the export dialog. If you figure out the Metahuman head swap let me know. I have been trying for 6 months with poor results. The heads "wobble".
Dress would become much more dress like if you had selected Phyisic's and added the dress material as physic's, unless of course your using UE's cloth. I believe UE imports CC physic's
I’m having a problem…when I import my characters into ue5….they retain the A-pose…so when I drop the character into the scene…the looping animation includes the A-pose…very frustrating…🙁….oh and to be clear…I’m going directly from CC to unreal…I don’t use Daz….thanks
Why are there no tutorials anywhere for importing character creator 4 meshes back into Daz3D Studio? I'd love to do that with my HeadShot morphs to have in Daz3D Studio, but there's nothing anywhere. Is it possible? Please someone explain the theoretical process..... :(
Thank you so much for sharing this! If I may ask, is it better to use realusion assets (hair, clothes, poses) with unreal? are they better suited than daz store assets for the task? (better looking higher preforming etc)
Reallusion assets look better on Character Creator Characters and require less work. You can import clothes and hair from DAZ but making them work and look as good as the native assets does require some trial and error.
G9. Let me say that, if DAZ3D do not speed up development of their features, tools and integration, from what I have seen elsewhere, in private, they will be left in the dust, more than they have already. Which is a shame because, I really do have a soft spot for DAZ Studio.
Looks like it's not working with morphs.Human daz characters only?It worked with a daz female but not an alien I tried the same process with.Any work around for morphed characters?
why do you seperate the eyelashes? it ends up not becoming a conforming part of the characters eyes and theres no way you can reattach it in cc4. better to just keep it attached.
I did not succeed, I blocked the import of realusion, ( failed to load character: no suitable setup profile found. ) Another thing different on my side, when he renamed the good one, I didn't have genesis 8 but pelvis, I still followed what he did, but no big deal but no big deal, I suspect it a little since I don't have the same export parameters in fbx, for example, I don't have the merge cloth option and I still haven't managed to do a clean export from daz to unreal, blocks it from retarging. On the other hand, I'm interested in converting daz's hair into a groom for unreal with Blender, are you going to do it soon?
When I import my Genesis 8 character to Character Creator 4, it always closes when it gets to Generate Cloth Conform Data, i was wondering if you have ever experienced this error before?
for you it is better to use character creator 4 jumping daz 3d?but if I would use a good skin for daz 3d, would it be the same? daz to ue5 directly? sorry, I am very new in this, cc is very expensive for me, and I'd like to know can I jump cc to ue 5
I just wish Metahuman and DAZ were one. DAZ with all the clothes and characters and Metahuman for all the rigging and ready too go characters. Metahuman doesn't do bodies yet and the clothes are soooooo limited.

I really like both but DAZ seems to have have stood still for the past few years.

nice! but how do you convert those hair into the groom via blender tho? 3:00
I have a plugin on my GitHub or more recently a tutorial for fur that works with newer versions of Blender.
Great one 👍 Hot in the UK? Here too 😁
Even hotter in a small room with no ventilation, rendering for 8 hours.
crazy how the layout changes in a few months.
keep gettin this error when I import into ue5 Unhandled Exception: 0xe06d7363 crashes everytime
Make sure you are using the very latest DAZ bridge.
@@Jobutsu yes still crashing in ue5 don't kno what I'm doing wrong
Best skin temaplte is "use original" - as it will take the skin binding from DAZ instead of trying to do auto-rebind.
Maybe

Uncheck "First frame in bind pose" when exporting
@@Jobutsu thank you soooo much 🤓

You can not do that. It is one way.
Yan you show us how to convert the hair to change to groom in Blender?

Hi! Very useful, thank you! Question - did I miss it, what is the purpose of first going to CC instead of going straight to Daz?
I don't quite understand the question ?
If you mean the beginning of the tutorial it was to show where those required DAZ poses are located.
@@Jobutsu No, the question is what do you need CC for? Why don't you go straight from Daz to UE
CC is a better base to work with. It looks better, animates better, integrates better and is just better.

@@Jobutsu thank you! I'll probably stick with daz assets because reallusion just changed their license terms and I have a legacy deal with daz 3d.

If it is what I think, I will be moving on.

If so, try *turning it off until import is complete.

I say use what works best for you. I use CC4 because I find I get better results but you could be different.
Lol, lost me at the beginning. I don't have an assets folder inside my reallusion folder.
This is quite old now, maybe something changed ?
@@Jobutsu yeah, the export settings are quite different. And I can’t find a recent tutorial. All my exported characters are invisible 🤧

And DAZ characters look bad outside of DAZ studio.
Is it possible to have directly to ue5
Hair still meh... But lot better than DAZ made plugin or old CC3 method
I think many techniques must be used to make these characters look better.
Easier just to import G8 characters straight up..
This is not for DAZ people really.
It is for people who use DAZ characters in other pipelines.
