Thank you very much. I managed to get my UE Mannequin to mimic Daz Gen8.1, but Gen8.1's head is completely bonkers when I want it to mimic UE Quinn. I applied what you teach. Well, I give up on that, as long as Gen8.1 works with its own animations.

This weekend, I am working on a full DazToUnreal project (no MetaHuman), start to finish. it has taken 10 hours to record so far because I am not used to recording myself, while creating my art.
daz to unreal plugin isn't working for me on Unreal Engine 5 Preview 1 but it looks like you have it working can you help me with that... I'm getting this error ....the procedure entry point cannot be located in the dynamic link Library

Smart using the old genesis Skeleton with no twist bones and no extra spine bones. I was having the hardest time figuring out how to deal with the twist bones. I ended up using a script that deletes and reparents bones in Daz.
Hey I know t his is really old comment but I'm in the middle of finally doing this to retarget genesis 8 figures. Should I be using the oldest one like the tutorial? I didn't really get why you'd use such an old version all my assets are genesis 8. The extra twist bones cause problems?
When I transfer my Daz3d character over to Unreal Engine 5 the character comes out patchy grey, the texture and material transfer over in a separate folder the material isn't being applied to the character. Can you tell me how to correct this?

My problem is I can not share Daz Characters and make money from them. In order for the rigs to work, they need a Skeletal Mesh, so it makes it very difficult for me.
@@Jobutsu I see well then maybe you can sell your ability to retarget. For example if I need retargeting for certain characters I could send you those characters and I pay for your services then I can receive the rigs. That would work
Great stuff, as always. Is there any chance you could do a video on retargeting Daz characters to the Advanced Locomotion System V4? I followed all of your videos and was able to retarget all of the animations from ALSv4 successfully to my character, but for whatever reason the animation blueprint itself absolutely freaks out with mesh deformations even though the individual animations are working fine. It would be great to have a nice locomotion setup for Daz characters. @@Jobutsu No worries if you don't have interest doing locomotion stuff. I get that some people are focused on fidelity/cinematics in UE and not player controls. I mostly ask because it's something that I'M struggling with 😭
I downloaded ALS, created a project, tried to retarget onto a G8 character and it looked terrible. I accept your challenge. Give me time to finish the series that I am working on (DazToUnreal cinematics) and then I will do ALSV4 next.

My problem is the ALS blueprint is completely whacked out, and may require some reverse-engineering to fix. Idk if it's related to IK bones or what, but the fact that all of the animations retarget nicely gives me hope that a solution is possible.

I find myself inside ue5 more than Daz. But I have a large library and use Daz bodies with metahuman heads.

I just have a habbit of simplifying tasks and in this case, with this new IKRetargeter, it worked.

The DAZ plugin now comes with a correctly setup IKRig included and there have been improvements in UE5. G8 works fine.

Sounds like a material instance that is missing its parent material
