  • In this second episode of my new series "I Can Put Concrete in That", I will be making Concrete Curbs by pouring concrete into vinyl gutters and flipping them over and using them as borders or curbs in a flower bed. I hope you enjoy this video and get something out of it!

Love this!! Could put a pin (1/2” dowel or something) in the mold spaced out so you can drive rebar down into the ground to keep them from moving.

I was thinking set some rebar "pins" in the wet concrete sticking out and ready to stick in the ground but that would only work in relatively soft ground (like where I'm at here in Florida, where everything is sand).

LOL nice, to play with concrete all one needs is a damp sand pit and trashbags. A way to strengthen concrete that actually is little known, boil some rice and strain the water out, 4oz, of it per gallon to your mix water, it causes the size of the microcrystals during formation to shorten but not narrow allowing more omni-directional microcrystalization. This will increase mostly crush strength, and has a very positive effect against impact breakage. as long as it is a >1/10 ratio to the lime, it will work, you could use only rice water and no gain over the 10%.

You could put a small piece of pvc pipe sized for your rebar to fit inside, you just leave the "tube" in so you dont risk breaking concete curb trying to remove a "hole die" - also should help keep the rebar rust away from the concrete edge.

I just stumbled across your channel when this appeared on my feed. This is ALMOST what I’ve been looking for and I must say … “AWESOME” idea! I may resort to this if I cannot figure a way to create these with an arc (wifey wants a round or oval shaped flower bed border). I’ll run it by her and see if she’ll “go for” octagonal rather than round or oval.

    • @MichaelBuilds
