Inxs released Kick, U2 released The Joshua Tree, Prince released Sign O The Times, Guns N Roses released Appetite For Destruction, The Cure released Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Midnight Oil released Diesel And Dust, Pink Floyd released A Momentary Lapse Of Reason, Bruce Springsteen released Tunnel Of Love....yeah, I was 22 and wish I could live that year over again. ❤
Omg Michael Hitchence. My preteen self was completely overwhelmed with his sexiness in Need You Tonight. Ultimate front man. Their concert from Wembley in 1991 is a must watch.
INXS (pronounced "in excess") was one of my favorite bands in college. Michael Hutchence was an incredible frontman; an amazing voice and so much charisma. They have so many great songs. Definitely check out Never Tear Us Apart, Mystify, and Need You Tonight.
'Need You Tonight', 'Mystify', 'Devil Inside' are all groovy funky hits from their earlier days, as well as 'Never Tear Us Apart' , a slower one, for Michael's beautiful vocals and a killer sax solo. 'Suicide Blonde', a little later, was also a great hit. They were fantastic. RIP Michael H.
INXS -- a great band. Michael Hutchence a great singer and an incredible showman. They tackled so many different styles of music and had tons of hits. You've got lots of great songs ahead by INXS.
My cousin use to go around various LA hotels; where many stars would stay, and got a photo with Hutchsence back in the day. She also got a photo of her getting an autograph from Bono.
This song is typical of INXS. They are very groove oriented. The one member of the band who always is overlooked is the drummer, Jon Farriss. His beats are always solid. One of my favorite bands ever. Other songs: Elegantly Wasted, Need You Tonight/Mediate, What You Need, The One Thing, Never Tear Us Apart, Original Sin, Suicide Blonde, that can get you started. You'll love them!
I am very fortunate to say that I saw this band perform Live at the Kansas CIty Spirit Festival, not sure what year it was but he was wearing a cast over his broken wrist... He was climbing all over the stage and fence, so awesome to witness.. Friend and I played this song at a bar in the Ozarks at least 30x one night on the juke box when you could play 4 songs for a dollar... Good ole days.. I was not happy when I heard of his passing. We lost a great one.
He definitely can sing! You should check some songs from the concert at Wembley stadium, any song. That show is a killer, he and tho whole baand were amazing, on the top of their game
Yay, INXS!! Mid-80s into the 90s, they were one of the handful of biggest bands on the planet. They had a long, long string of hits, their videos were on MTV 24/7 for years, their records sound amazing and they can play live as well or even better. Just amazing. You can pick any song from their Wembley concert and it'll show you just how incredible they were. Yes, Michael's voice is incredible, you should hear it live!
They have many great songs & were huge in the 80's. "The One Thing" was probably their first big hit in the US. "What You Need" is a lot of fun & came out a few years later. Many other hits. Great band
Finally, finally you did INXS. Oh yeah, Michael can sing and sing anything, and he does! INXS was born between punk and disco, as Michael states. INXS does not have a “bad” song. I rave and rave about them. Here is my theory on INXS. They are part of the holy trinity of rock. I know people will dispute this, but IMHO it is Led Zeppelin, Queen and INXS, then rock died. Every member of these groups are musical genius in their own right. There are other great bands, artists and hits, they didn’t have what Led Zeppelin, Queen and INXS had. A charismatic and dynamic frontmen/singer/songwriter’s that you can’t take your eyes off of. Other groups were playing catch up or trying to emulate Led Zeppelin, Queen and INXS. These groups created their own genres of music.
I couldn't even imagine the places they could've gone had Michael not died. My favorites are "Don't Change" "Listen Like Thieves" and "Need You Tonight". Actually, anything off the "Listen Like Thieves" album would be great.
@@lindascott6902 like AMess said, it was in Denmark. He hit his head on the pavement to cause brain injury-loss of sense of smell and taste, which is bad enough, but also caused personality changes as well. So, so sad. He’d likely have never killed himself if his mental state hadn’t been damaged.
I'm w/you. Kick and Thieves are my favorite INXS albums. My top five sort of mirrors yours: New Sensation, What You Need, Listen Like Thieves, Don't Change and Suicide Blonde.
The Kick album was the first cassette tape I went out and bought with my own money in 1988. It's a brilliant album from beginning to end. Was lucky to see them a few years before Michael Hutchence died.
Now you have discovered INXS you must see them live, only then will you experience their greatness. I was lucky enough to see them several times growing up in Melbourne. To this day, they are still one of the best live bands I’ve seen. Michael Hutchence was an incredible frontman and made you feel he was singing to a small audience, of which you are blessed to be a part of, soooo good ❤
INXS was soooooo popular when I was at the end of grade school & into Junior High School aka middle school today. I loved INXS..pronounced as "In Excess"😎. Also has Robert Palmer vibe in top hit " Addicted To Love".👍
You need to watch the live at Wembley videos. You will see why many regard them as one of the best live acts and Michael as one of the greatest frontmen. The song “What you need” at Wembley is especially good imo
You can’t help but move to INXS. Michael Hutchence was such a charismatic front man! Not to mention his voice, his tone was second to none, he was a brilliant songwriter and the band were so tight musically. They never recovered after Michael’s death. You could’ve rewinded it 100 x 🥰 RIP Michael ❤ (check out the other suggestions especially Wembley)
Love this band so much, been digging them since they first released in the U.S. When you come back for more, be sure to stick with their early stuff, at least until you've explored them thoroughly. Michael was the man. "NEED YOU TONIGHT", "WHAT YOU NEED", DEVIL INSIDE", "NEVER TEAR US APART", "THE STRANGEST PARTY", and on and on. Amazing band, peerless sound.
Got to see INXS (in-excess) twice - once during the KICK tour (this song included), then once more just a few months before Michael Hutchence died. I feel honored to have seen them twice. Fantastic band. So sad how it all ended.
There 's a lot of great Australian hits you're missing. They had great bands that were big hits here in the USA in this era. Midnight Oil, Men At Work, AcDc etc.
As you noticed, their videos are really creative. MTV jumped on them in the early 80's and they had "The One Thing" in heavy rotation and it got them their first Top 40 hit. First of many 45's I went and got by them. They have a ton of great songs, well produced and super catchy!
Oh and this song came out, I couldn't stop playing it. It does really give you a new sensation everyday. I was 16 years old when this came out and I was instantly in love with song.😮 So cool to have you experience at your first time like I did. I can prove to you that just gets better and never gets old. I'm glad I found it on your channel. ”InXS" hint... It would be maybe fun to live life, "In excess" (pronounced)
INXS was a big influence in the mid-80s. Michael Hutchence with the low ponytail, the neon flashing lines & stop-motion animation made this a frequent play on MTV & in the bars when I was in college.
Never done Aussie music? you mind will be blown. Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Midnight Oil, Kasey Chambers doing 'Lose Yourself' with a banjo and much more. With Aussie artists the best is always live, really, live is where the magic happens.
They were well ahead of their time. Please watch the Wembley 1991 performance of this song as well as the one from January 1991 in Buenos Aires. Incredible.
Inxs were all amazing musicians and ahead of their time. Always innovative with their music. Half of their songs were about sex, the other half social commentary eg:Guns in the Sky, The Stairs, Hear that Sound, etc.
Fantastic song and band, one of the biggest bands of the 80s and 90s. The only thing better than IN X S(in excess) is INXS live! What You Need live at Wembley stadium 1991 is epic.
Firstly Australian bands you may have missed 😂 AC DC. The BEE GEES. Savage garden. Crowded house. Pendulum, midnight oil, Men at Work, Air Supply to name a few Also I was lucky to see INXS live twice. My favourite live track although not a single release check out. The Stairs. Live in London
In Excess! that's the pronunciation of INXS. I like WHAT YOU NEED, DISAPPEAR, SUICIDE BLONDE, NEED YOU TONIGHT, DEVIL INSIDE, etc. They were the real deal and tremendously hot back in the '80s. Tons of energy, front man Michael Hutchence died from an OD and they were never much after that. I figure they burnt bright and quick, as their name implies (In Excess).
Most things taken IN EXCESS will hurt you except for INXS music! If you're just getting turned on to this great band, enjoy the NEW SENSATION! They're TIGHT!
This was their first song that I heard! Miss Michael's voice so much. It is a shame that so many greats were taken well before their time- Michael, Freddie, David. Thank you for your reaction!
Love your reaction to INXS but to really appreciate the band you need to watch a live performance. I would highly recommend Wembley stadium in 1991, Need You Need. Thank you very much!
Yep, 1988 was a similar year for 80’s rock from Whitesnake to Def Leppard, etc…some years really crank out the hits.
dogs in space!!!
Great time to be alive to be able to experience spectacular music. We didn't know how great we had it ❤.
Last week i was in a rock bar with my Friends. Everyone in the bar was dancing this song, there was no empty space on the dance floor 🎉
Omg Michael Hitchence. My preteen self was completely overwhelmed with his sexiness in Need You Tonight. Ultimate front man. Their concert from Wembley in 1991 is a must watch.
Give INXS The Stairs from live at Wembley 1991 a listen to. Honestly his voice is something else!
No one who knows INXS was fooled Michael was an exceptional singer and frontman
INXS (pronounced "in excess") was one of my favorite bands in college. Michael Hutchence was an incredible frontman; an amazing voice and so much charisma. They have so many great songs. Definitely check out Never Tear Us Apart, Mystify, and Need You Tonight.
Great suggestions! ❤

The One Thing is such a cool tune too!
Don’t change
Bitter tears
Original sin
By my side
Beautiful girl
Kiss the dirt
So many great songs. Should react to live at Wembley versions.
The INXS drummer is fun to watch
Beautiful song, from a long gone era, greetings from a far away place named Honduras.
Been on my playlist for years, the line, “… and the sun comes like a God into our room“, is gold
INXS -- a great band. Michael Hutchence a great singer and an incredible showman. They tackled so many different styles of music and had tons of hits. You've got lots of great songs ahead by INXS.

I overlooked Jon until rewatching their videos later on. He’s also so entertaining to watch! I was always distracted by Michael and Tim and Kirk.
This is my sisters fav band. He is her fav singer. She just turned 50, I’m 43 so i grew up listening to this @ 8-9 yrs old. Such good stuff. RIP MH ❤
This song really jumped out of the speakers back then. Everyone caught this groove
Still does...

Michael Hutchence was an astonishingly charismatic personality. INXS was just amazing.

Your next song by INXS should be "Never Tear Us Apart"!!! Pretty please!!😊😊 Beautiful song!!! 🎵🎼🎶🥁🎤🎙🎸🎹🔥🔥🔥
I agree! A great song! ♥️❤️😊😎
Great song. Along with “Don’t Change “….
Michael Hutchenche has an awesome voice. I love this band and saw them live a few times. They are even better live.
They have many great songs & were huge in the 80's. "The One Thing" was probably their first big hit in the US. "What You Need" is a lot of fun & came out a few years later. Many other hits. Great band
One of Australia's biggest bands just touching the surface, time to come down under for many more.
My favorite is Never Tear Us Apart. Would love to see your reaction to that one!
Their performance of this at Wembley is a must-watch ❤️

Had Michael not been viciously assaulted in Poland in the early 1990s. That really was the start of his spiral downwards, which the poor man fought.
@@lindascott6902 It was in Denmark, the incident that Michael had with the cab driver

My favorate song was "I need you tonight"
Best
The magic that was the 80's RIP Michael Hutchence
First band I ever saw in concert. They were absolutely brilliant.
DISAPPEAR is an underrated GEM by INXS and Michael Hutchance has NEVER looked better than he does in the Disappear Video :-D
The Kick album was the first cassette tape I went out and bought with my own money in 1988. It's a brilliant album from beginning to end. Was lucky to see them a few years before Michael Hutchence died.
Michael Hutchins was 🔥🔥🔥 so sad he died so young 😭
I feel lucky to have seen them live mid nineties.
They were TIGHT.
Check them out live at Wembley 1991
One of my top speed-walking bands. You WILL keep up that fast pace. You will.
Little River Band is an Aussie group you must listen to because you WILL love them.
'Dont Change' is a beautiful INXS song🖤

Michael Hutchence is synonymous with the word Sensual...and Yes he can sing!❤

Men at Work was an Australian band. Their biggest hit was Land Down Under. Very catchy; you should listen to it.
So many great songs by these Aussies. A rabbit hole worth diving into
GREAT SAX, GREAT GUITAR, GREAT VOCALS!!✌
Watch them live at Wembley!!!!!! Many hits!!!!!
Lucky to have seen them live at a fairly small venue in 2/86! Just before they became super huge in the US. RIP Michael. 🙏
I saw them live, my internal organs are still vibrating! Michael was sexy as hell too 🔥

"Need You Tonight", "Mystify", "Suicide Blonde", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Beautiful Girl", "Devil Inside" etc.
Many great songs from INXS. If I had to pick one for your next reaction, I’d recommend “Devil Inside.” But any are contenders honestly.

I was in my early twenties when I fully learned about them, but I of course heard their songs ways earlier, without realizing it

“I Want You Tonight” is a total INXS banger. The video version is a must!

3 brothers in this band. Only other band to have that many in the same band was Toto
(In excess) is how you say it. The whole Kick Album is spectacular....love INXS!!
“It was giving me orchestral sensations.” Then you got the “New Sensation” lol. INXS and Michael Hutchence were legendary. RIP Michael.

I can't imagine the last 40 years without hearing this band. Welcome to the party. Go back to the first album "Shabooh Shoobah"
