Please consider reviewing 80’s band Scorpions ‘Wind of Change’ it’s a timeless rock ballad from 1989 written with the fall of the USSR. They are a German rock band that were HUGE in the 80’s. Enjoy your commentary SalvoG.
Omg, Yes! "Need You Tonight/Mediate! official video is a must!!💯 Love that you requested them together (as they should be)... it's the way we all were introduced to it. Kudos and good to see you.❤
To think an American record exec infamously heard it before release, and told them to redo the album, “ guys I don’t hear any hits , I need you to go bk in the studio!”....🤦♂️🤣🤣
My dad used to drive for INXS . He said the Ferris brothers were disgusting & rude. Michael was the quietest of the group but he'd make small talk with my dad when he was on his own. One time he drove Michael, Paula (his gf) & their baby Tigerlily to the airport & they were running late.... They got themselves out of the car when dad went to get their luggage they handed Tigerlily to him & got their own luggage out of the boot 😂 .... Sadly my dad was one of the last people to see Michael before his death after driving him to the hotel where he was found 😞 Such great talent gone too soon 🇦🇺💖
To truly appreciate INXS you need to check out a live performance, would recommend What You Need from Wembley Stadium. Not only will you see how tight they were musically, you will see what a masterful and charismatic a frontman Michael was - had a way of making a connection with the audience which was crazy!!!
Especially Suicide blond . You see some concerts and say , man I wish i was there at that one . That and ACDC at River Plate , would have loved to be at those two shows.
This came out when I was young and dating seriously and loved this song. I’ve gone through an entire life and still love it. I NXS. One of the great Aussie rock bands. Period
They had the sound that exemplified Late '80s-'90s Club Scene with a bunch of hits; DISAPPEAR, WHAT YOU NEED, NEED YOU TONIGHT, SUICIDE BLONDE, NEW SENSATION, DEVIL INSIDE, etc. They were never able to recover from Michael Hutchence's O.D. death in '97. More than a front man, he was a man possessed onstage.
We GenX were definatly spoiled with music. Our childhood was disco, 70s rock which bleed into heavy metal and top 40's like INXS. From the Beatles to metallica and Duran Duran. Modern music today really sucks super bad.
I saw them live on this tour in 1988 and when they played this song they left the stage when they got to the first break, CHANGED CLOTHES, then came back and picked up where they left off in the song. It was amazing. Sinead O'Connor opened and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Amazing group, They were on tour as an opening act for the Go-Go's, when massive fame hit. I actually saw the Go-Go's/inxs tour in 84 at Radio City. And saw INXS later, many times. Followed them and mourned Michael's untimely death. They are still in my playlist.
One major reason I Love INXS and have the Rock band as one of my all-time favorite Rock bands is because their front man and lead singer acts, sounds, performs like Jim Morrison and the Doors. They are like the offsprings of the Doors. This song and video makes my point. 🎉🎉🎉 Great Reaction.
Michael is way better than Jim Morrison he has a better voice better stage presence, better personality and attitude and definitely better looking and better dance moves!
thanks, Salvo.. one of my favorites by INXS... appreciate your reaction... Michael Hutchence was fantastic.. gone too soon.. and for what/why? Guess we will never know...
Many moons ago (when this album came out) my roommate put a cassette of "Kick" in my majorly nice analog stereo system, cranked it ....I say, "I hate INXS" ...the music begins...omg! Have loved the album and especially this song ever since.
This romantic/sexy song just reminded me of another one that was released the same year: Sign Your Name by Terence Trent d'Arby. Those two songs were part of a 'trifecta' that I used to always play one after the other but I can't remember the third one right now.
Fantastic reaction, I think you are liking this little band from Australia 😂 This has to be one of the best ballads ever written! That sax is perfectly placed and executed. The whole song is perfection. And yes pretty much every song from KICK is fire! Anything by INXS is great, no matter what period. They are even better live ..this song from Wembley stadium in 1991 is fantastic and the whole concert is brilliant.
Saw them live 3x back in the day. Loved every album. Michael was a great front man. Gone too soon.❤ This video was filmed in Prague, my favourite city in Europe.
Love INXS! I was 11 or 12 when this came out and I used my money to buy it on cassette. You absolutely need to listen to Mystify and Need You Tonight/Mediate from Kick too.
My 1st ownership of INXS was The Lost Boys soundtrack which contained 2 "FIRE" tracks of them and 1 Lou Gramm (solo without Foreigner),,,I was hooked by both and obtained "Kick" which came out soon after. I could not stop listening to every song on that album in a constant loop. After seeing them live shortly after I bought every album I could prior. Their past music was an education of the maturing of a band. Each album shows their evolution from punk/alternative/rock later albums after "Kick" show a more experimental delve in to new styles then further leaning to blues in the last ones before Michael's death..
I always said, if I could be in any rock band, it would be INXS. I love their combination of rock and funk. Next up: Need You Tonight/Mediate. You'll love this, make sure you have the Need You/Mediate video, not just the single version. It's amazing! Other songs to check out: Elegantly Wasted (their funkiest!), The One Thing, Original Sin, and Listen Like Thieves. Great great band!
Congrats on the new channel (you covering films that you’ve not seen?). --this is a fantastic song, like you stated it checks all the boxes. Only one issue…it’s too short!
This is one of my favourite songs by one of my favourite bands. It was played as Hutchence's brother and bandmates carried his casket out of the church at his funeral. The video is on RUclips. More INXS, please!!! Great reaction
I was working for a record store when this album was released and we listened to it on constant repeat. So anthemic- and so filled with what it meant, for me anyway, to feel young. Thankful I saw this tour and all the wonder that was Michael Hutchence as an iconic frontman. INXS will always be a part of the soundtrack of my life.
Yes, that album, Kick, was THE album in 87-88. It's incredible, the whole thing. They were one of a handful of bands on top of the world at that time, no joke. So many hits, just one after another, on MTV 24/7, just killed it even going into the 90s. Their early stuff is also excellent but a different vibe, since early 80s & later 80s had a different sound.
You can't go wrong with them. Any singles they put out, you'll hear something great and slightly different, and of course then you want to listen their whole albums and you discover your own favorite songs / deep cuts. Try 'Mystify' next and also try one of their other songs live, that would be a good contrast. They had great energy on stage.
Missing the 80s today. Love it! Thank you so much. PLEASE consider the following. You won’t be disappointed…. I became a fan when friends of mine were calling them "inks" lol. Their albums each have a very different sound. Would love you to check out "Johnson's Aeroplane" from The Swing
Michael also wrote the melody. The song was written for his ex, Michelle Bennet. GOAT frontman, with some serious magic. We love you, Michael! Michael and childhood friend wrote the entire album and the record company offered them millions NOT to release it. It was the BOMB. Mystify, the documentary Richard Lowenstein (who did many of their videos) made about Michael is excellent.

You're right. Kick is FIRE!

INXS WAS FIRE! RIP Michael!
When the sax 🎷 kicks in ! 😳😎
Their song “Need you tonight/Mediate is an excellent one!👍
Agreed! React to the video of both songs together 😊
Absolutely, the videos are meant to be enjoyed together!
Omg, Yes! "Need You Tonight/Mediate! official video is a must!!💯 Love that you requested them together (as they should be)... it's the way we all were introduced to it. Kudos and good to see you.❤
@@tinagilbert8902 yes!!!! Good to see you! I always get so irritated when people leave off MEDIATE! 🤦🏻♀️
Masterpiece
Kick is a non skip album - every track is great
Exactly!!!
To think an American record exec infamously heard it before release, and told them to redo the album, “ guys I don’t hear any hits , I need you to go bk in the studio!”....🤦♂️🤣🤣
Ah, the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic.
I thought that looked familiar. Yes, a wonderful place to visit.
My dad used to drive for INXS . He said the Ferris brothers were disgusting & rude. Michael was the quietest of the group but he'd make small talk with my dad when he was on his own. My favourite INXS song. Perfectly written. Great vocals. Great brass. Great feels.
Agree!
The sax player is Kirk Pengilly. He's also a fine guitar player and second voice.
To truly appreciate INXS you need to check out a live performance, would recommend What You Need from Wembley Stadium. Not only will you see how tight they were musically, you will see what a masterful and charismatic a frontman Michael was - had a way of making a connection with the audience which was crazy!!!
They were a superb band. Check out live performances! You'll be blown away.
Especially Suicide blond . You see some concerts and say , man I wish i was there at that one . That and ACDC at River Plate , would have loved to be at those two shows.
Yep what you need from Wembley is my favorite!
“Cause we all have wings, but some ofbus don’t know why!”
That line is so clever, so simple and so true!
This came out when I was young and dating seriously and loved this song. I’ve gone through an entire life and still love it. I NXS. One of the great Aussie rock bands. Period
This was such a monster album. Four top 3 hits and they're all different from each other.
My favorite part about watching people react to this song, is the sax! Everyone's mouths drop 😅
Need you tonight, is your next definite banger from them that you HAVE to do for sure!! Great reaction as always!!
One of many best songs!! KICK was a massive hit!! Always in my playlist even today!🎻🎙🎶🎤
We GenX were definatly spoiled with music. Our childhood was disco, 70s rock which bleed into heavy metal and top 40's like INXS. From the Beatles to metallica and Duran Duran. Modern music today really sucks super bad.
Yep. Our lives were 80s music
One of best songs period!!!
A fantastic band that I feel is far too often overlooked. They had it all.
That bass going down at the very beginning in the background is absolute genius
This group was the bomb! So cool and unique. No way not to love them.
Sooooooooo good. Uhhhh it’s heavenly. Love INXS. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Yes. You really like this band. 🔥🔥
I'm a classic rock and roller,,,,INXS is FANTASTIC. 👍👍👍💥😎
I saw them live on this tour in 1988 and when they played this song they left the stage when they got to the first break, CHANGED CLOTHES, then came back and picked up where they left off in the song. It was amazing. Sinead O'Connor opened and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
I love this song; Michael's voice, amazing instrumental and the build up, it's pure magic!!!
One of my favorites!!❤❤❤ Just really love the instruments, the arrangement!🔥🔥
Keep going, you have only scratched the surface! They were the best live band for a reason!
Beautiful Girl!!! Has to be your next review
Amazing group, They were on tour as an opening act for the Go-Go's, when massive fame hit. I actually saw the Go-Go's/inxs tour in 84 at Radio City. And saw INXS later, many times. Followed them and mourned Michael's untimely death. They are still in my playlist.
He was so talented.Such a loss when he died.
No matter the kinds of music you like, this is just a damn good song - aka - fire!
Michael was the GOAT and, unfortunately, the comparisons were apt.
DITTO, makes one wonder if they were possessed by the same Spirit.
Look up “The Tea Party- Fire in the Head” if you think INXS is like a reincarnation of Jim Morrison.
Michael is way better than Jim Morrison he has a better voice better stage presence, better personality and attitude and definitely better looking and better dance moves!
You REALLY need to see some live INXS. Wembley Stadium is a good one. Highly charismatic frontman in the Robert Plant, David Coverdale mold.
YES YES YES!!!!!! One of my all-time favs! Thank you for finding this! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
thanks, Salvo.. one of my favorites by INXS... appreciate your reaction... Michael Hutchence was fantastic.. gone too soon.. and for what/why? Guess we will never know...
Love this song and band!🙂
This song always gives me goosebumps! I keep the cd in the car & have to play this cut on repeat, singing at the top of my lungs! Oh yeah!!!!!!!
Many moons ago (when this album came out) my roommate put a cassette of "Kick" in my majorly nice analog stereo system, cranked it ....I say, "I hate INXS" ...the music begins...omg! Have loved the album and especially this song ever since.
Saw INXS live at a tavern in Melbourne before they hit it, was totally stunned . Still am . Hope you enjoy more from them
A really wonderful song by them is Don't Change.
This romantic/sexy song just reminded me of another one that was released the same year: Sign Your Name by Terence Trent d'Arby. Those two songs were part of a 'trifecta' that I used to always play one after the other but I can't remember the third one right now.
Great Album!! The WHOLE thing is Awesome and repeat, repeat, repeat!! Do more!
This song has gradually become my favorite INXS tunes, and I've had the album since it came out.
Fantastic reaction, I think you are liking this little band from Australia 😂
This has to be one of the best ballads ever written! That sax is perfectly placed and executed. The whole song is perfection. And yes pretty much every song from KICK is fire!

Mystify is my go to from INXS, but their entire album, Kick, is 100% worth a dive.
INXS is their own genre - guitar riffs and all.
One of my favorite songs of all time by one of my favorite bands of all time!
I was fortunate to see INXS live once during their Kick tour. Hutchence was an alluring frontman and the rest of the band were amazing by musicians.
The sax riff in that song is out of this world. Smoking sexy. Strong place in my personal favourites.
Love INXS! I was 11 or 12 when this came out and I used my money to buy it on cassette. You absolutely need to listen to Mystify and Need You Tonight/Mediate from Kick too.
❤! Great reaction..lol.. you rock, SG!
This song makes me sadder than I’d like to be, but I still listen to it monthly.
Hard not to love it!!💜💜🎶🎼🎵🎸🎤🎧🎹🎷🔥🔥🔥

Brilliant song writing, performance, arrangement, instrumentation, etc. You nailed it- "hits all the boxes".
Make sure you take a look at the ‘Mystify’ doco about Michael Hutchence. Well worth a look.
great song!
Always has been a favorite song.
Nice!
I loved this when this first came out, still love it!
If you like INXS, you will probably also like Icehouse, another iconic Aussie 80s band with a similar vibe.
My bedroom walls were plastered with pictures of these lovely gentleman ❤
I can't believe no one else mentioned, "The One Thing". Their MTV US debut.
Raw and sexy. My absolute favorite.
This album is fantastic!!!! You should watch them live at Wembley.... so good!!!! RIP Hutch!!! Very much missed!!!!
♥ You gotta check out their song - Don't Change!

When romanticism was still alive. One the greatest song of all time for sure;
My favorite INXS song! It’s still on my playlist. Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a gorgeous song
Hutch was simply magnificent!

They were one of those bands that almost everyone liked. I miss them still.
I see INXS I click! "Suicide Blonde" at Wembley you will remember.
