I just started playing pikmin 2 on dolphin emulator. I lost all my purples to the second empress bulblax fight because I was too busy fighting the little maggots it makes.

TIP WHEN FIGHTING THE MAN AT LEGS (The Mechanical Beady Long Legs): Hiding behind MOST raised objects when it begins to ready its cannon in the fight will prevent you from getting shot at all. Do NOT try to outrun the shots. As seen in this video, it doesn't end well.

At the narrow path in Perplexing Pool, you can get past it without losing Pikmin if you have a small enough group of Pikmin. At a certain point, they start lining up in a straight line, rather than an ellipse.

@Mr.Feather130 No, he's pretty good. Not nearly as great as me, but still a worthy opponent in pinmin 3 bingo battle and pikmin 2 marble mayhem. I still consistently whoop him, though. Can't wait for pikmin 4, then I can challenge him to dandrori duels!

Yep. It's called taking cover and using sprays properly. The Man-at-Legs can be a breeze with enough Ultra-Bitter Spray and sublevel RNG.
