Yeah and Nintendo specifically showed Oatchi carrying Pikmin across water in their videos so those of us who had been following along had every reason to expect he could swim.
It’s actually good since oatchi doesn’t learn how to swim until you “expose” him to water
This version of pikmin needs a "new game plus" cause the infinite rush is pointless if you already got everything else
Right?!!! I hope in a update Nintendo Add that, I decide to get the white and purple onions just when I get the 100% of the maps...
I imagine that they might add dlc and some other stuff kinda like Sonic frontiers, that would be really nice though!

Really the only thing is if you haven’t gotten all the treasure yet, and the trials of the sage leaf.
It’s useful for getting faster runs in Olimar’s shipwreck tale
a common theme i see is that you stop moving whenever a pikmin dies, no matter the situation, and that's gotta be the deadliest habit i've ever seen lmao
I only do it because I know I’m going to reset after that, I don’t like killing pikmin tbh

In the end I won deathless using a strike team of purples because if I had all my Pikmin with me they just outright couldn't make it to oatchi in time.

I really hope this game gets some kind of DLC, it is WAY to successful to not get anything.
Honestly I kind of feel like Olimar's Shipwreck Tale was supposed to be DLC and they kind of just included it in the base game due to how long it took to come out. But I might be wrong.

that empress bulblax in the cavern for a king was so bad that i just gave up and fought her with only oatchi

its easy, just use ultra spicy spray and lightning and one oatchi rush, that combo INSTAKILLS her
i'm new to the pikmin series, and despite seeing many warnings about the waterwraith, i thought i could just slip on past it to get to the exit. 78 blue pikmin dead. i now understand why y'all are so afraid of that thing
i saw let's plays from others who did Pikmin 2. i already knew it wanted to hurt me O_O
Idk if it's just me, but my biggest dandori issues while playing the game blind were:
-Forgetting what I assigned for the shortcut buttons (I wasted 17 spicy sprays bc of this)
-In the first area, I thought you needed Winged pikmin for that pocket watch against the wall (just use Oatchi rush)
-47 Pikmin getting crushed by that lavacake fiery flat-ass bug thing bc it was a new enemy
I only ever had one Pikmin die to the lava cake, and it was because his AI got stuck on the enemy's collision while trying to walk back to me.
Holy crap. I did not know I didn’t need Winged Pikmin for that Pocket Watch. I haven’t gotten it yet since I’m just a casual player and am in no rush to finish the game, so I’ve been waiting to get the Pink Onion so I can get enough Winged Pikmin to grab that. Thank you for teaching me how to finally get 100% on the first area
If you don't try to bonk your head on a wall to get something down you clearly haven't been a Nintendo fan for long enough
@@BowlOSoup6661 In my defense, though, that was my first Pikmin game. At the same time, they did specifically teach me how to get things down from high places by using rush. But on the third finger, the pocket watch was not on a ledge and was simply attached directly to the wall

Pikmin 4 is the only one of the games where I’ve had genuine extinctions, not because of enemies, but from mechanics I didn’t know about like the bottomless swamp sublevels or charging the Smokey Progg in the final cave.
I was having the same issue with the Smoky Progg at the end, all I did to do it deathless was throw spicy sprayed purples on it and they killed it pretty quick, stopped my pikmin from flying into the insta death mist (for a 3rd time)
@@blazephoenix5849 yeah I figured out the trick when you don’t have Glow Pikmin was to throw not charge or dash.
@atlascatlas1887 honestly if it wasn't for the remind feature this game is actually difficult (from a non veteran player), it saved my "deathless" run so many times lol

@@blazephoenix5849 I normally only lose about 5-15 Pikmin depending on the game for my average playthrough, but 4 has a lot of stuff that just catches you off guard, the surface baldy long legs comes to mind in the Primordial Thicket.
I think the worst experience I’ve had yet is the Doppelgänger’s Den boss. Not because the boss itself is hard but because all of your Pikmin focus on everything else but the boss 😂
Well that's kind of the point of the boss, so you could say that the boss is hard

Spoilers for the final cave
One of my biggest dandori issues was during the arctic cannon beetle in the cavern for a king, when I got to the top he was sucking in to shoot a boulder, he flung many Pikmin off the map and ate many Pikmin, dying after because he ate almost all of my whites
The fight with empress Bulbax at 7:23 was absolutely not fun at all 😭 I already lost 8 pikmin as I was going through the cave so I just decided to use the ghost pikmin to fight the boss. It took a while but I really didn’t want to deal with losing my other pikmin.
pro tip: feed it bombs.

I was waiting for you to get caught by the Dog's scream during the green phase lmao. I lost all my Pikmin to that when they panicked and ran into the instant death zones.
No joke, that didn’t happen to me somehow! It happened once but I called them all back instantly, BUT JEEZ ARE THOSE RED SPOTS ANNOYING

I went into that fight with a full 100 (replenished losses with glows).
I left with 7. Almost all of those losses was a singular roar.

6:20 I feel like for this fight specifically, going for the big one first is just begging for things to go horribly wrong. Especially given that you can use him to take out the smaller ones and not even risk losing your own pikmin, lol
As soon as I entered that floor my brain was like "Oh, just use the big guy to kill the small guys and it became easy.
Me personally i just one cycled the big guy then killed the small ones
seeing you consider rewinding after losing 1 pikmin is literally so relatable, I usually reset if I lost 5 or more pikmin in any of the games lmao

In my playthrough, in the dandori challenge that involved wings, purples, and whites i had a gameplay flaw where i got close to beating it with a few seconds to spare. I got the last treasure and it didnt end and i was freaking out. I looked up at the ledge and a purple pikmin failed to latch onto the root treasure thing and it made me lose. Needless to say, i was pissed
On a side note, The cavern for a King is rather difficult.

5:45 that exact thing happened to me! it was right at the end of a night expedition i had to restart the whole night i was so confused

I had one attempt against the Smoky Progg end in all Pikmin lost in an instant.
After that I just used bomb rocks.
I laugh so hard when oatch i did not reach the whatever jumping mushroom is hahahaha tbh I did every jump in that sublevel with fear.
Man, that Bulblax Queen in the 20-level cave was just evil. I nope-d out of it and solely used Otachi's bite to slooooowly kill it. The air jets are super unreliable always activating when you're not near it and never working when you're literally running on top of it, the cave has no rock candy pop buds and doesn't even suggest rock pikmin when you enter the cave.
What were they thinking?!?
I personally have forgotten about the water coming out of a cave and forgetting oatchi couldnt swim yet.

7:04 Swarming your Pikmin here was a giga brain move, sadly they still died
I loved this game, played all the previous 3 too when they originally released. But the thing that makes me most upset about this installment: the CONSTANT chatter from the crew-members whenever something happens to my pikmin, even if it happens right in front of my damn eyes. I really wish there was a way to mute your comms so they'd all just STFU. Soon after playing the demo, I realized I actually miss the aspect of loneliness felt in the first 2 pikmin games.

Complete the side quest for collecting all musical treasures, the last one is in the final cave.
What I did is that I got the treasure and then I ended the day to get it, I figured it would come in handy in the final cave
This is basically Pikmin 4's version of SRB2 Kart's "kart" and "Rabbit Abuse Simulator" series. And I think I love it!
With the sovereign bulblax fight in giants hearth I used oatchis swallow and managed to sneak the onion past

I litterarly was ONE hit away from beating him when I lost my Ice Pikmin. Even though I had 60+ Pikmin left, the game forced me to stop and do it again.
Why?! I didn't even need the Ice Pikmin....

There is a "Keep exploring" option...
@@GamingGreen21 Normally there is, but during that Boss fight you don't get it and you are forced to start over. (You can, however, rewind time by just 3 minutes instead of starting over completely.)
I lost all my Red Pikmin to that fight and it let me keep going 🤨

All you have to do is beat it like you would in the first game and you’ll be fine unless you haven’t played the first game
Yeah apparently its not Emperor Bulblax at all but a new varient based on the first game's final boss known as Sovereign Bulblax. It took many resets to get a no death run in Giant's Hearth for me
@@Fairydragon12 well in your next no death run just use bomb rocks + spicy spray and the sovereign bulblax won’t do any damage

Highest Throw, Fastest Runner, Fastest Digger and immune against electricity.
And hell, electricity is THE most deadliest CC in this game.

next playthrough, i'm bringing in glow pikmin thru the boss-rush caves. (just need to make sure i bring at least one purple with me for the waterwraith creature).

It's actually pretty easy, just defeat the enemies on the sides first.
Not too hard if you get rid of the cannon beetle larva first
I used the armored cannon beetles rocks to kill the enemies
