- Don’t plant the red haven peach. The red haven peach flowers so early. It’s march 16th here on @UncleClaysOrchard zone 7a and the Red Haven peach is blooming before all my other peach trees. Yes the red haven peach is probably one of the best tasting peaches in the world but your not going to get fruit every year because the late frost is going to wipe you out. So make sure your first two peach trees are not red havens go with a contender or cresthaven which are 7-10 days behind the red haven. Then once you know your going to always get fruit from those then experiment with the Red Haven. #gardening #peaches #orchard
That's good to know! Thank you.
Alberta and Reliance bloom early too. I have a 3 in 1 grafted 😊
that’s good to know thanks i didnt know that
I planted 2 of them in Maryland zone 7a. They bloomed and then hit with cold and said good by to fruit. The professional nurseries are supposed to tell us that but they are too concerned with selling these trees than what actually works. Thank you. You have helped me more than the Nursery I bought them from.
try the cresthaven and contender
Question the White lady peach !! Need an other peach tree for pollination????
it’s covered in fruit now i can show you
Great advice! Now I wanna try one
you wil
I wouldn't know i planted a couple peach trees about 15 yrs ago and I lost one due to over fertilizing it...and the other one it bloomed every year and I have yet to get 😅a peach from it 😢😢😢😢
Damn squirrels and birds anyway.😢😢
how big are the fruit getting before you lose them?
@@UncleClaysOrchard golf ball or bigger. Some jut on the verge of being a baseball and ripe.
Then nothing 😨😭
I planted a alberta peach tree 2 weeks ago and that also started blooming today...
Alberta is an awesome peach but since it’s your first year you should pull all the flowers off now unless you have other peaches its help pollinate. If you have other peaches then wait until the pedals drop then pull them off.
@@UncleClaysOrchard wow thanks!!
Suggestions for Zone 9? Peaches or other fruit trees?
I live in the north and i dream of growing citrus. Which you get to do in zone 9 so my anwser would be oranges, lemons, manadarines! Your list of citrus is endless! Good luck
@@UncleClaysOrchard Thank you
Got any mango trees
No i live in pennsylvania… can i grow mango in a pot inside in pennsylvania like i do with my other citrus? i just assumed it wouldn’t do good in a 15 gallon pot
Red Haven is a late bloomer. You may have a mislabeled tree. I like what you are doing though.
so much mixed information lots of people i talk to say their red haven blooms early, even some websites claim it blooms earlier then most. That’s what’s difficult with fruit trees always mixed info online
No, it's not. I have one, zone 6B. Just gotta hope we don't have another early from.
I think the biggest problem is buying trees that are trucked in from other zones. Red Haven is supposed to do well for blooms and fruit that are at risk of a late frost snap that can cause havoc on other types. I live in Massachusetts zone 6b. I'm growing Red Haven and Majestic that were started locally.
