These finds made me feel confident that this trilogy is configured to deliver PEAK Japanese story telling! Flower growing contests. Promise. Hollow. Sci-fi level cosmic spiritual revolution. I'm beginning to believe the devs when they say its going to surpass the ending of OG
I absolutely love the piecing together of all this info for people like myself who wouldn’t or couldn’t do it otherwise. All these deep philosophical connections in the theories are so insanely engaging and interesting and it only makes me more excited to see what will happen in pt 3. This story is so insanely special and I think square really are going to bring about something incredible in the finale.
I first played FF7 was back in 1998, I turned 40 this year, and this story wont be done until im in my mid 40's, so for me it really does feel like it's been with me nearly all my life. This world, these characters, they're important to me, they've never really left me, and I cant move on.
Revealing my own obsession here, but while watching this I could stop thinking how much of Rufus in Rebirth is explained through this new lens. He's always been a foil for Cloud: Rufus knows precisely who & what he is, he knows how he was shaped by his upbringing, he knows how others perceive him. However, like Cloud he is still imprisoned by his dillusions, specifically that his loneliness & self loathing are worthy prices for the material power he has as President. And Sephiroth wants that to remain the case. Because in the OTWTAS novel, Rufus figures his shit out. He accepts the weight of what he owes the world fairly quickly, and commits to actively paying it without reward or praise. So to see Sephiroth trying to keep Rufus distracted with a corrupted means of "saving the world" through destruction is fascinating. Manipulating the part of Rufus that remembers wanting to help the world is brilliant, and showcases Rufus' will and intelligence that he's beginning to break through it by Rebirth's end. I imagine he's be made to go through hell, similar to his OTWTAS self, in Part 3 but probably a more targeted hell, where he's forced to see how incurably toxic the company truly is
I've been watching your theory videos since the versus/xv days and watching as your theories expand and go even deeper over the years is awesome. Keep up the great work Pez!
Cause of crackpot theories...? Original FF7 was a classic, if anything the extra stuff harms it. Many other games make FF7's story look comical, even other FF's...
name one part of this theory that is crackpot? Because OG contained many of these buddhist concepts. It's also not a 'theory' to talk about an element of inspiration for the game that the devs have directly told us is in the game. Salty much
@@FinalFantasyPeasant I consider all of it, every single theory, over the top pretentious nonsense. And honestly I feel like most consider it that too which is why theory videos were more popular a few years ago. It's not just you, every FF RUclipsr who has this fixation on FF7 does it. I used to be into it a few years ago, but as I got older the more I realized how pretentious it all is. These videos are alright if you don't take them seriously, which is why I still enjoy them to an extent.
I felt something just imagining what you talked about at the end of this video. We about to go through some pretty dark times and I wish this game can shine as it did in the old days and give hope to people.
Was looking forward to this video! Loads of words that are definitely core to the FFVII story. And "promise" being totally central (Promise Land...). I will now be looking forward to part 3. Also, your last part makes me think of Sephiroth's end goal. Because the promise of Maitreya somehow strongly resonates for him as a character (and is even reminiscent of his OG goal of galactic expansion). And not unlike you, he seems to deem Cloud to be able to bring about the Promise. But why 7s. Damn.
Great work, i love this stuff. So looking forward to part 3. I think people will change their minds and see that it was more important to set us up for something new rather than relive our experience with the first game in 4k HD graphics.
This story has so much depth and layers. Im so glad that they did this rather than a like for like update of the original :):) love the theories Pez! My brain is blown ! Struggles to keep up 😂 much love :):):)
I'm about a third of the way through this video, and I'll have to finish it later! Peasant, you should publish a book analyzing VII. I'd be first in line to buy it. This is golden!
A good dive into the occultic eastern mysticism - being FF7 its fair to say it can easily be approached with these spiritual overtones. I implore anyone who truly wants to be "awakened" or "enlightened" to go onto youtube and watch: Third Adam 4. I challenge that anyone who attempts to watch it will have their mind blown along with their entire worldview shaken and come out with a fresh set of eyes to view Final Fantasy. Thanks Pez for your theory videos, still enjoy them. Kind regards
i notice 3 in rebirth too. during the dream date zack had 3 choices to save biggs, cloud, aerith but did not save neither. and aerith and cloud was keep getting 3 choices put in their face but away ending up with a 4th non-choice out of no where. i know that imporant but i cant put my foot on why you video help me get alittle closer
great catches dude! Absolutely, the idea of these 3 paths presenting the opportunity to change fate. Yet it actually still playing out. It's cool because it seems grounded in a theme of non-acceptance with what is. Change can only come about when the attachment for change is resolved, I think. Cool theme of buddhism
Pes I’m annoyed that you keep referring to yourself as a Peasant. This is no work of a peasant. This a divinity of a theory and breakdown. Honestly the best content I’ve seen on the theory of 7 and Remake series. The dream team stream would be you, Max, MJ Gallagher I think

When you said she binds herself to a Monster, in Crisis Core Renunion, Sephirot, and Genesis they all referred and think of themself of Monsters and this is a whole conundrum in the game, are they good or bad and are they human still or are they monsters ? So I think that's the monster she bound too... Sephiroth...
Great theories man have you played Stellar Blade game? If not I highly recommend it, it's full of plot twists, as an final fantasy maniac I think you'll be very excited to play it, your brain will explode and be full of theories.
Gonna comment about 7 after I watch this but I’d love for you to delve back into Versus XIII, and Verum Rex theories and how it’s going to be played unto Kingdom Hearts 4.
Heeeey this is really fascinating stuff, but if I can offer a small critique, could you consider lowering the music? It can be a little distracting over your voice. Great work!
I like the theory. But How about Chadley? Where does he fit in all this? I'm betting he's Shinra boy from FFX-2. Like Hojo found Shinra's sphere containing his memories the way memories are stored in FFX-2. Only Shinra being a boy genius found a way to make the spheres more than a memory, like he added consciousness to it. Put it in a cyborg body and basically Shinra boy is alive again, but cannot use the name Shinra hence Chadley. Weiss knows this and is now trying to do the same thing, Data-Weiss is in VR, put in a cyborg soldier and now you have Weiss secret boss fight in Wutai in part 3.
"Cloud starts the game as a Gigachad" Despite being 5 foot 8, not particularly muscular and having just spent five years in a coma. I've never understood the attraction women in VII have towards Cloud. You'd think they'd go for the man-mountain Barret or the mysterious, brooding Vincent (or even Cid, who has the whole bad boy thing going on.) But the blond pretty-boy with social anxiety, crazy hair and a ridiculously oversized sword that's totally not compensating for something? I just don't get it. And it's worth bearing in mind that the male protagonists of Final Fantasy games are always good-looking (Squall, Tidus, Clive), but none of them gets drooled over as much as Cloud!
I think they were relying off of FF6 who had no main character and so in FF7 there is no main love interest. Cloud could easily be with Yuffie, Tifa or Aerith. Yuffie is 19 by the way.
@@sagittariusa7662 He looks like a taller, beefier Jon Snow, from Game of Thrones. Even has a direwolf (well, a bigass dog anyway). It's obvious FFXVI was conceived when GOT was at the height of its popularity and Square-Enix took a hefty amount of inspiration from the series.

I don’t support the new direction of this game. I speculate they will combine Aerit with Sephiroth, a concept of connecting the east with the west, or connecting the past with the future. I have a hunch that Seph has a black wing for a reason, and Aerit has a white wing in hiding. I strongly believe Seph is the unber-darth Vader antagonist of this story: another form of demonizing Taurus-like people into thinking they are the root of evil and a bain of existence, but this is indeed false because that Zodiac is a representation of everything that is physically existing. This includes the stage where everybody exists on and all other stages in parallel to a world. Aerit, being an Aquarius, is a representation of the future and a progression of mental maturity. Both characters are both two of the four primes, cloud being a leo, is a third prime. So does that mean Jenova, a possible fourth prime, will make an appearance? I am dying to see how the game ends, and how it evolves from the last one…
Theories are so fascinating and very, very enticing, creating so much hype am I right? Everybody’s confused about the ending because no one considers that something real could be part of the explanation-I believe you’re definitely on something because, I haven’t studied in-depth other religions but I know that they are very interesting and I would like to someday❤❤❤❤ I do love the implication of religion and mythologies that affect reality coming through this type of media that is so incredibly alluring or maybe I should say fascinating.😂 i’m not sure how to say it, but it’s amazing storytelling whatever it ends up being!!!
