I will never accept the criticism of "too much content" as a reasonable critique. I always wish for my most beloved games to have new things to discover. I want to be able to go back and play my favorite games and find new things and be able to enjoy them for longer periods of time. The completionist mentality, where you have people who are trying to just complete their checklists for as many games as they can, that is something I find extremely problematic. I used to be like that and it honestly drained so much of the enjoyment I had with gaming, and turned it into a dopamine driven form of commodity fetishism. It really shouldn't be about playing as many games as you can, but the level of enjoyment you get from the games you do play.
I was like that during my trophy hunting phase, to the point where the main reason for not buying a game was the platinum difficulty, gaming started feeling like a second job, finishing boring games multiple times just for the platinum (literally fell asleep during Beyond Two Souls replays for the trophies).
@@mariocamarena I only recently hid over half of the games in my steam library because I finally came to the conclusion, "I don't even enjoy playing these games, why do I feel the compulsion to beat them?" There's absolutely an addictive aspect to things like achievements and "gamerscore"
I completely agree, it feels quite silly. Imagine if people complained about Monster Hunter having too much content lol. I personally just take my time with each game I play and if I don't end up completing every single sidequest or minigame or whatever that's fine too, no need to 100% everything out there (tho more often than not I end up doing it, especially with a game as fun as Rebirth). I'll never get this rush to play the next "big thing", cause ruining your first experience with a work of art to just jump into another one feels so incredibly alien to my brain, I don't really understand how some people enjoy that honestly
Where my mind goes in the next one.. not snowboarding: 1) first is clouds memory reveal with Tifa 2) battle with weapons and also Hojo 3) high wind exploration 4) knights of the round 5) showdown with Jenova and Sephiroth Bonus: Tifa and Scarlet slapfest

Sadly, it was suppose it it isn't , The Number 1 game in the world FF VII (from psx) was only one game with 3 disc, this guys make it 3 separated games adding a lot of unnecesary BS and make it less impactful such as Nanaki's dad revelation was superfluous compare to the touching moment in the OG, Aerith's Death too, and don't get me start with Zack's Sacrifice now meaningless. I am grateful that we can see our beloved characters in Modern Graphics, but thats it. The Greatest Trilogy of all time? Mass Effect probably, or Metal Gear but that is more like a Saga
Game begins revealing what happened to Aerith... confirming she died... next scene Cloud makes a speech and starts going down the slopes with snowboarding lol...
Since Clouds mind is repressing any thought of Aeriths death Snowboarding may actually become a storytelling device. Everyone in the party is sad and Cloud is like "Hey this looks like fun" which disconnects him from the party even more.
Brings Sephiroth’s CC character back into it as well. He didn’t want to fight Genesis or Angeal as Zack had a better chance of saving them both, which is what he wanted. Back to that choice of wanting to save everyone vs what constitutes as an acceptable sacrifice.
Remake and Rebirth have completely convinced me that (as Max alluded to) Advent Children is like the 'bad ending' to a video game, and the Remake/Rebirth/Re??? trilogy is not just a do-over for Sephiroth, but also for the protagonists (even if most of them don't know it yet), and eventually the third game will lead to the 'good ending' or the 'true ending' of FF7.
I remember telling my buddy when I started seeing more of REBIRTH and also hearing the devs talk about it, I said “This game on its own could be one of the greatest games ever made”. Now after seeing how REBIRTH over achieved even what I thought possible and knowing what is left in part 3 with whatever else they step up with, Part 3 could be again on its own the greatest game ever made.
12:38 I think the reason why they aren't talking about Weapons or the largest set pieces in general, is because it would be very likely going into big spoiler territory for what will be changed and added to Part 3
I'm not even certain we will fight Weapons this time round. Everything we've seen suggests they're the hood guy's - before we get Weapon fights the story needs to give us a reason to fight them - and that's getting into spoiler territory for the last part of the game.
@@M-E_123I think the reason will be the same as the OG: “The planet realizes it’s in serious danger and the weapons see humanity as the biggest threat that needs to be eliminated.” Weapons aren’t bad guys, they’re just the planet’s bodyguards
7:28 the fact that Hojo knows chadley is working with cloud now amd seems to have some control over him still is going to be interesting to see play out in part 3
In my play through, I HAD to 100% the grasslands because i was just in so much shock and awe of how awesome it was, but when I got to Junon I was deadly curious about if I could recruit Yuffie immediately after the fish boss or how that sequence of events played out. Because I had spent so much time playing with the party in Grasslands and wanted to experiment with yuffie parties, I saved Junon for her, and then likewise I just started a few quests but didnt finish them until I got Cait Sith and then I went back through Costa (part 1 and part 2) in order to experiment with that. Then, I skipped all side content in Gongaga because the story was so engrossing and went straight to Cosmos, where I did about half of it but was a bit stressed by the 'flying' chocobo travel, so I went back to Gongaga. Then Ch 12 came around and I saw everything open up again so I went back and tied up loose ends - at that point, I had only 100%'d Grasslands/Junon/Costa, but I wanted to beat the story really bad so I did the pirate stuff, but decided to save the newly unlocked levels of minigames as well as the final sidequests in each place for a NG+. I went back and made sure I finished protorelic, and then I tried my hand against the first double summon fight but lost for like 2 hours so I made that post game content too. Greatly improved the pacing, always made me feel like I had more to do when I wanted to take a break from story, but It was also nice knowing I could rush through story ASAP in moments that felt really intense (like Ch. 9-12)
@@jt1973 The game is a bloated mess. It with a game that looks no better than a game that came out 10 years ago. It can’t sustain a 720p resolution, it has countless low res assets, textures/awful lighting. Low res/high res character models for different scenes, such as in game cut scenes and full cgi cut scenes, a trick that was used 23 years ago in final fantasy x! It’s ridiculous. The world design is copy and paste, check box objectives, towers, filler. Compared to many other high end PlayStation 5 exclusive this games objectively looks awful and you guys won’t have a bad thing said about it. When there are games out there like Horizon, Tsushima, Wukong, DMC5, Stellar Blade, even older titles like Batman Arkham City/Asylum. They used an outdated engine for rebirth that can’t do open world well, or lighting well, the text on various objects is completely illegible. Go to the Mythril Mines and see if you can read anything on the sign posts. It’s not even text. The same problems can be found elsewhere in the game on various assets in shops and town. The NPC’s look like they are from late stage PS3/Early PS4 games. The slums and wall market looked like ps3 era areas in remake. Low res textures all over the place, and the npc’s didn’t help. Final Fantasy XV came out 9 years ago and looks just as good at this game AND it has a solid resolution running on a PlayStation 4. Remake looks better and runs better than Rebirth and it’s running on a PlayStation 4. I know what you’ll say “it looks fine to me” “graphics aren’t everything” or “bro did you even play the game” Yes. I finished it at 122 hours, did almost all side missions. The game felt like a chore at the 20 hour mark. Loved remake, didn’t hate rebirth but also didn’t love it. It looks dated and will look even more dated in another 4 years when part 3 comes out. The cinematics look great, but there is a reason they are used to promote the game, to sell it. This is why they use cinematics in trailers. The money shot’s sell the game. It has great combat, music. Gameplay is fun, but the open world, graphics, side content was shit.

If that Cloud/Sephiroth team up that Max is implying does happen in Part 3, it would be incredibly cool if the music was either birth of a god or One winged Angel mixed with Let the Battles Begin. That way, it would sort of mirror the materia guardian theme from Rebirth.
Nah they have a heroic version of One-Winged Angel now (White Winged Angel) which 💯 will be added in pt 3 from FS which is expanding Seph’s backstory for a reason
Omg. Couple things back up Max’s theory of Sephiroth & Cloud teaming up against Jenova, but then it being revealed that Sephiroth’s well intentioned plan is messed up and he’s still big bad. 1. Cait Sith had a conversation with the group on the way to North Corel about asking why they wanna stop Sephiroth if he just wants to save the planet, but the group respond with “it’s the way he’s going about it that needs to be stopped. He doesn’t care about what happens to everyone living on it” or something 2. The first chapter of Rebirth is called “Fall of a Hero”. Why not just “The Flashback”, “Nibelhiem flashback”, or “That Day Seven Years Ago” or something like that? The titles I suggested focuses more on Cloud himself. His flashback. His memories. But instead, the devs gave a chapter name that focuses on Sephiroth himself and the fact that he _was_ a hero. Part 3 coming back to Sephiroth trying to be a hero again brings it back full circle.
Re: Sephiroth's goals. So, the world as we know it in FF7 is one where predestination exists (with "god" being the planet) because of the lifestream, the way that life is tied to the planet, etc. It seems Sephiroth wants to create a world where life (whether that is all life, his life, etc.) exists beyond the will of the planet, and to give what he believes to be free will of some sort to people. That might - in the mythology of how this world and magic works etc. mean that its a world where people never die, interrupting the cycle of life/death/rebirth that is inherent to this planet. I'm not opposed to this kind of twist of new Sephiroth because frankly, his backstory of a tragic hero *has* always felt a litttle bit stolen by Jenova's plot who is, thematically kind of just an abject, external evil force. If they are essentially emphasizing like from the novels that Sephiroth the tragic hero DIED when he was killed by Cloud and fell into the core, and that the clones, the meteor plot etc. is all the will of Jenova having merged with/or completely taken over Sephiroth then that would mean that post AC Sephiroth we fight in rebirth/remake at the end is Sephiroth who stayed conscious in the lifestream (because of his Jenova Cells) kind of parallel to Aerith staying conscious after her death, and who has set into motion this new plot of the game in order to re-write his life. THAT is cool, but they have to do a damn good job of differentiating the fallen hero who became evil from the abject evil ghoul that is Jenovaroth (who we fight in OG for basically all of the game then). That some of this development exists only in a side project game not many people play makes me concerned if they go this route it might come off as "underdeveloped" or "a last minute twist" despite some of the set-up. It's a 'redemption' only in the sense that they have kind of been building up Sephiroth's character since Crisis Core as an acknowledgment that even in OG FF7 while Iconic, that Sephiroth was not fully realized/explained to the player. They would also have to - assuming Sephiroth/Cloud dont just literally literally team up in the end and its like, there is no villain other than Jenova - explain why Aerith/the planet/The Cetra's vision of a cyclical, predetermined world is just. (Or, Aerith has to break away from the teachings of the cetra/planet and find a new way forward that doesnt make everyone immortal zombies, while also not making fate/free will an illusion.) It's a lot to handle for one game, but if they want to make a 70 hour story and 200 hour game instead of a 40 hour story 120 hour game, im here for it lol.
Gavin's japanese is so great HUGE shoutouts to him! I haven't played Rebirth as I'm expecting the PC version but I'm very excited for it and for what I believe will be Reunion aka Part 3.
So.....I absolutely loved seeing and hearing chadley give info about everything. Then seeing his personality evolve until the end. Wasn't a bother at all lol
It's funny that you were so shocked about snowboarding being what he mentioned, because it was literally the first thing I thought of when he said "think about this section of the original, what are the two things you think of first?" And I immediately thought of snowboarding and fighting the weapons
I would personally love if there was a section of ff7-3 where you play solo as cloud in advent children and you get to go through all the major sequences like cloud fighting on the bike, a bahumut QTE, as well as fighting Sephiroth
So my crazy Theory, it is the Third game will be called Reborn. Just because in Remakein the soundtrack Sephiroth theme is call one winged angel rebirth. And in Rebirth it's call one winged angel Reborn
Sephiroth wants to work with Cloud to defeat the Lifestream (Spirith Aerith along with it) so that their destinies can fully be realized without the yoke of the Lifestream and/or Jenova. True freedom.
I want the developers to go all out on this game. Just like FF9, I want this project to be the love letter to the fans who stick by this franchise all these years. ❤ I can’t wait for future trailers in the future months to come
Lol whenever Chadley would say “Cloud” I’d always say back “Chadley” in the same tone when I was pissed loosing challenges 😂😂 Chadley became the homie after a while 🤣🤣🤣
I don't want the part 3 to be released, because that means i longer will listen to Max theories and shit about the last game. I'm gonna miss these days.

Since the "too much side content" thing is being brought up again, I do want to point out the issue isn't actually with the side content itself. The issue is actually with the Ubisoft world map system. If their world was more like Breath/Tears or Elden Ring where you have to go explore to find stuff, people wouldn't feel as pressured to put off main story progression. This is because you wouldn't get bombarded by checklist icons in every new zone.
@@lucasromerova6150 This is one of the few things that argument really doesn't work for. The Ubisoft checklist system is specifically designed to an unknowing player feel like they have to do all of it. It's very MMO-like where instead of organically finding the good rewards out during your exploration, there's Chadley's "exploration shop," that shows all the best rewards you can get plain to see and spend your "exploration points" on. Average players are going to fall into this trap regardless. It's specifically designed to make players do that.
@mindflair3732 funny. Because my experience of the game is that the main story kept pulling me through zones before you'd even picked up any icons or "checklists" of side activities to complete. Like from Junon you go straight to under-Junon then to upper-Junon without ever really exploring the wider Junon region - just following the flow of the story, you need to go looking & exploring & backtracking without prompting just to start getting those side activities to even start popping up. Same after Gold Saucer, you just get dumped in the Buggy right near the exit from Corsl Desert to Gongaga, nothing to keep you in the desert, no reason to explore and start grinding side activities unless you go out of your way to break out of the main quest railroading you forward by turning the Buggy around and driving back the opposite way the game had put you. Happens again in Gongaga and then especially in Cosmo Canyon (where you literally are asked to follow Red XIII into the town straight from the Airstrip, then into more story, or you can choose to delay going into town and instead run away from Red XIII & explore the Canyon proper). Honestly your criticism of being bombarded with checklists of side activities is not true - you start getting side activities only once you start going out of your way to look for them, for at least 70-80% of the area's in the game. The big exceptions are the first Grasslands Zone, Costa Del Sol & Gold Saucer. And that's it. The game does make you feel like you need to complete everything - in fact I would very much argue that the game encourages you to skip huge chunks of the open zones (where all the side quest icons live) and come back for that later. And that's the way I played the game, and never once felt like there was "too much content". I played the story, then I spent twice as long exploring the world.
hearing the explanation on sephiroths intentions really makes that ending cut-scene hit different, i was always under the suspicion it was a Jenova mind trick as not only do you fight an evolving Jenova moments before but a holy that is full of memories falls into the water and becomes a part of the stream for all who are connected to it. when you first see Aerith appear next to cloud when they are sat next to the lake the movement of her head turning to look at cloud is a bit jerky and creepy, almost like someone or something who isnt human trying to move like a human to create an illusion of being one. pretty much 90% of the lines she says to cloud in the ending scene are also said the same way and with the same emotion as lines she said earlier on in the game and in remake, pretty much using memories to repeat lines to match the situation like some kind of lifestream soundboard. and to think of how Jenova works, as a celestial parasite, she inhabits a world, gains trust/worship then drains its life, uses the drained planet to ride it through the universe, crashes into the next planet and starts the cycle again, when crashing into Gaia she wasnt ready to be used as a super soldier serum, but thought how it could be beneficial to be in control of the worlds leading force, BUT then finding out the top dog in the force has his own goals shes come to realize with her power and his hero mindset shes in trouble, he wants to unite worlds and timelines then in a sense thanos things and in the process brake free of the control of Jenova to create a good promised land and become the ultimate hero, Jenova obviously wants to continue draining worlds and moving on to the next, sephiroths plan putting this to an end is bad news, unfortunately in the middle of all this is poor old mindfucked Cloud, being pulled one way by Jenova wanting him to stop sephiroth but using his love and memories of Aerith to do it, and also by Sephiroth understanding with 2 people of there strength could stop Jenova and free them of the control she has but cant gain his trust with the group of friends he has around him also guiding him in a differant way, poor guy. It really is going to boil down to do we help Jenova stop Sephiroth and realize ohh crap we didnt change anything OR do we help Sephiroth stop Jenova and realize ohh crap we really didnt change anything.
When they mentioned comparisons for sephiroth with certain anime & manga chaarcters i knew exactly who they were refering to. Characters like Madara Uchiha, Light Yagami, Lelouch v Britania, Eren Yeager etc.
One thing i wanna add on the whole remaster/remake/etc is that, the way i see it is remaster = carbon copy of the chars, the story, the world, etc, only with updated graphics, a remake, is that you build it up from scratch, using core elements, like chars names, the same name of the world, etc, but you change certain aspects in the story that isnt set in stone (unlike aeriths death scene, etc), to give an example, you have a table, you take it apart, then you use other techniques to put it together again, the finished product will still be a table, may even look almost the same as the og, but it is still different
About Sephiroth, even in the OG at Temple of the Ancients, he reveals he is trying to create the Future. He traveled through the lifestream, learned the past, and will create the future.
50:58 … Sephiroth’s intention IS the title for each respective FFVII Re- series game, so as soon as that’s distilled from Sephi’s intended alternative-purgatory, Nomura can finally name Part III. As an aside, “Rewrite” might be a contender, perhaps…?😅 Though Max’s “Return/s”does sound like a good fit.👀
Personally I strongly believe the title "Rebirth" is referring to Cloud's character by the end of the game and has nothing to do with Sephiroth, especially since Nomura revealed that was supposed to be Part 3's title (which makes complete sense since Part 3 is going to be including a very important Cloud scene about going through a 'rebirth")
I agree with the remake discussion; i would much rather always prefer a new take and fresh design over a remake of a game than a 1 to 1 recreation. My example would be Shadow of the Colossus. I loved the original, played through it a good few times and a run collecting all the trinkets. Super excited when the remake was announced, played it, didn't finish it. It was the same game, again. No new cutscenes, no new story beats or gameplay innovations to refresh it (apart from new control scheme), no additions. Nothing. I'm not fussed about playing an old game with new HD graphics, because those old games can still be accessed. If it's going the remake route, then literally, remake it with a new design philosophy.
What if new seph helps you fight evil seph? Like we see other versions of all the other characters. I haven't finished rebirth, but where I'm at he hasn't, or it hasn't been revealed yet.
I think Sephiroths' goal is still the meteor colliding into earth, and becoming a god but maybe he believes that the lifestream is a collection of the human consciousness and that by absorbing the life stream and becoming one unified conscience and body that there will be no loss or suffering. Sephiroth believes he's "special" he's practically considered the perfect human or specimen, so maybe it's still the original plan, but we see more of his psyche and his god complex come into play.
If anyone complains about too much content in a game they’re playing, go find another game to play or just quit! Its a dream of every gamer to have endless amount of content in a game, because we dont want the fantasy to end. Its fun its sad, especially when it ends. The more the better… side quests are for both bit of u hate content then why play anyways? Devs, keep making games and continue your hard work. We appreciate everything you do.
Having a lot of content is fine. Neglecting the story of an RGP and causing some of the worst lacing in the franchise by constantly focusing on the side content instead of story was the big problem with Rebirth. Takes till Chaoter 9 out of 14, literally the 2/3 mark of the game for the story to finally progress beyond "Follow the Robed Men" and then the gane gets distracted by unnecessary filler again in Chapter 11 with the Cait Sith stuff and Chapter 12 with the entire chapter. So when only 4.5 out of 14 chapters of you game have story progress, thats a problem that needs to be addressed going foward.
22:10 Ey, so Max was at the Shrine Auditorium concert. Probably got his tickets way in advance. Nosebleed section still had a pretty great time though. Worked around the cramped seating like pros. 53:55 This take lines up with so many of Sephiroth’s post-OG FF7 actions too. “I will never be a memory?” All the things he does in the Lifestream and swaying so many souls to his side? Showing the party at the end of Remake the end of OG FF7 where all the humans are gone? All of this to defy death and the concept of death. The music even reflects this. Listen to One Winged Angel - Rebirth, how many times it seems like it’s going to end and yet it doesn’t for 10 minutes straight. 1:25:10 Very few empty seats in that auditorium, and what few there were was in the nosebleed sections (and I think then some people stood up in the back to watch instead of being in those cramped seats so that may be why they were empty). 1:27:15 I mean…people were stuck at that venue for a while after the concert ended because the exits are right by residentials (it’s on the outskirts of the USC campus) with just one exit leading out to a signalized major street, so it’s not like Max or anyone else was going anywhere anytime soon.
Everybody's talking about a translator, but I don't hear one.. did an audio track get removed? All I hear is them talking very faintly, and Max VERY loud.
probably the best implementation of the Highwind : the ability to skydive out of it at any point, and what that would actually mean for the whole scale of the game.
Rebirth was an amazing step-up from Remake that was nigh on impossible to believe. All I desire for the third installment is materia loadouts and possibly a transmog system for weapons so I can keep the Buster Sword for iconic scenes whilst working on unlocking abilities or using a 'better' sword.
When they say core gameplay about the Highwind and Snowboarding... I'm think that both would be means of traversal and placed in special care. Like dog fights and performing tricks. Just imagine what they can do in the Gold Saucer.
Cloud already knows of his Omnipresence it happened in Rebirth, When he fought sephiroth post Aerith Cloud Said.... "You can did this before you can do it again" he said while fighting Sephiroth,This happened likely When Cloud held Aerith, she transferred the knowledge then like Red and Marlene
Sephiroth also had a very relevant final line in advent children. Something to the effect of "I will not be a mere memory." Though I dont think his goal is to wipe the lifestream. It doesnt match with his "its not death its a homecoming" philosophy. Maybe the other way around, where being in the lifestream is a blessing. It can work in his favor as well since he can use jenova infesting the lifestream to assert control over people who are in it. On the note of jenova, random thought. Gi Nattak actually being jenova in disguise trying to get the black materia. Would explain the loathing of ancients and the particular interest in wanting to join the lifestream but being unable.
Hmm based on the analysis of Sephiroths motivations, in contrast to Cloud's character growth and coming to terms with reality...I'm wondering if the last installment will be called Final Fantasy 7: Recall. Other possibilities with the Re tag could be Remember, Recollect, and Reminisce. I don't hate any of these options.
31:00 remember how a lot of people were super pissed that ReMake wasn't a one to one copy of the original but with better graphics? Yeah, imagine the disaster that would have been
Having 100% REBIRTH, btw you get a crown on the play log once you 100% the game just like in REMAKE, I am excited to see everything they put into Part 3. Not only do I think they will reuse the areas from REBIRTH though I think they’ll adjust what’s in those areas, I am wondering what they do with the new ones? Plus the characters weapons. In REMAKE and REBIRTH the last weapon you get in the game is normally the one with the most materia slots but not the most powerful. In REBIRTH I loved that they gave the Buster Sword reprieve so it can be used at any point in the game. I wish they did that in REMAKE but in Part 3 is hope they do the same but at the same time when it comes to the Ultimate Weapons they should have the most materia slots at first, sure, but they’re ultimate weapons so they also then need to be the most powerful?
Imagine the Synergy Attack with Cloud, Sephiroth, and Zack going up against Jenova. The music, the set-piece, the animation, the moveset.... HOLY SHIIIIIITTTTT.
37:21 my bet isnt even the triple techs, but what if, we get some highwind interactions, in the veins of streets of rage 1 police car summon? what if, each character can develop their own "orbital bombardment" special with the highwind?
1:00:50 I remember my reaction to this as well when I got to that part. I was like, let's see how far it will let me go. Just out of curiosity. At a certain point my eyebrows started raising up. "They aren't going to let me do it. No Way they are going to let me do it. No Way! OH MY GODDD they're letting me do it!" 😂
The GI story is so integral now because they wanted to commit suicide considering that they cannot die and because of that Cloud and the gang has a better understanding OF life and death and Sephiroth doesnt because he hasnt interacted with the GI tribe, from what I can remember.
you cant please everybody. there are people who complained about demon's souls remake. to me, they are insane, and nitpicky to the moon and back. because if it was done the exact same way, by from soft, they would be praising it to hell and back. its the exact same issue with dead space remake. its 100% superior in every single way. but lo and behold, people will beach about some small detail of a character that is completely irrelevant. regardless of how superior the remake is. hell, even nintendo isnt safe. there are people HATE the all star mario collection, because the physics isnt 1-1 the same as the one in the original nes games. or with zelda link's awakening remake, which is the closes thing you could get to the original. there are people who hated it, because it was the exact same game, just pretier. so if a remake change something minor, people will complain about it losing the "original vision". if it changes something major others will complain that the game is not the same exact experience. and if they change NOTHING AT ALL, there will many others who will ask why even bother since the original still exists making it a pointless remake. its a war on every front and any decision you make, is the wrong one to someone.
How mad will we as the older FF7 community be when we get the opportunity to merge the timelines again at the end of the game, and we get to reunite with Aerith? There's some serious hardcore people that NEED to have Aerith die...and Cloud must accept it? I see this as an opportunity to get the "good ending"...Advent Children and FF7's original ending were kinda depressing.
Having played both the og and the remaster of demons souls the only differences are: fixed exploits, updated graphics, added a few items, thats it, they didnt change the spells, the weapon animations, the mechanics, the bosses, so how anyone can even suggest that bluepoint "doesnt adequately represent the og studios vision" is beyond me, the only thing i can think that supports that claim logically would be the fact that (in this case from soft) didnt make the new game, it is just ppl being butthurt just to be butthurt
My concern is if there’s going to be carry overs of items and weapons from part 2, afterall, part 3 is a halfway of the story and starting from scratch doesn’t feel right, I don’t want to be grinding and collecting money that I felt I should already have in part 3, those tedious side quests and challenge need to feel more worth it and add value to the game if it can be carried over.

The slums and wall market looked like ps3 era areas in remake. Low res textures all over the place, and the npc’s didn’t help.

He doesn’t care about what happens to everyone living on it” or something
"How do you manage fan expectations?" "We pump that shit through the roof"

Since the "too much side content" thing is being brought up again, I do want to point out the issue isn't actually with the side content itself.
The issue is actually with the Ubisoft world map system. If their world was more like Breath/Tears or Elden Ring where you have to go explore to find stuff, people wouldn't feel as pressured to put off main story progression. This is because you wouldn't get bombarded by checklist icons in every new zone.
100% agree
You know you dont have to pay attention to the checklist? You can just find stuff by turning off the compas or map and just explore?
Agreed. And how much of it is just copy and paste on the new zone. Repetitive and unfun imo.
@mindflair3732 funny.
I played the story, then I spent twice as long exploring the world.
hearing the explanation on sephiroths intentions really makes that ending cut-scene hit different, i was always under the suspicion it was a Jenova mind trick as not only do you fight an evolving Jenova moments before but a holy that is full of memories falls into the water and becomes a part of the stream for all who are connected to it.
when you first see Aerith appear next to cloud when they are sat next to the lake the movement of her head turning to look at cloud is a bit jerky and creepy, almost like someone or something who isnt human trying to move like a human to create an illusion of being one.
pretty much 90% of the lines she says to cloud in the ending scene are also said the same way and with the same emotion as lines she said earlier on in the game and in remake, pretty much using memories to repeat lines to match the situation like some kind of lifestream soundboard.
and to think of how Jenova works, as a celestial parasite, she inhabits a world, gains trust/worship then drains its life, uses the drained planet to ride it through the universe, crashes into the next planet and starts the cycle again,
when crashing into Gaia she wasnt ready to be used as a super soldier serum, but thought how it could be beneficial to be in control of the worlds leading force, BUT then finding out the top dog in the force has his own goals shes come to realize with her power and his hero mindset shes in trouble, he wants to unite worlds and timelines then in a sense thanos things and in the process brake free of the control of Jenova to create a good promised land and become the ultimate hero,
Jenova obviously wants to continue draining worlds and moving on to the next, sephiroths plan putting this to an end is bad news, unfortunately in the middle of all this is poor old mindfucked Cloud, being pulled one way by Jenova wanting him to stop sephiroth but using his love and memories of Aerith to do it, and also by Sephiroth understanding with 2 people of there strength could stop Jenova and free them of the control she has but cant gain his trust with the group of friends he has around him also guiding him in a differant way, poor guy.
Man that Haji slip up had me laughing more than it should've 🤣
As an aside, “Rewrite” might be a contender, perhaps…?😅
Though Max’s “Return/s”does sound like a good fit.👀
Rewrite or Restore, Revive?
Personally I strongly believe the title "Rebirth" is referring to Cloud's character by the end of the game and has nothing to do with Sephiroth, especially since Nomura revealed that was supposed to be Part 3's title (which makes complete sense since Part 3 is going to be including a very important Cloud scene about going through a 'rebirth")
Rewritten
Let me guess the new access in the Highwind will be an updated Johnny's Treasure Trove.
I know my best girl is probably gone. But a guy can hope
Max, if we can fly around and fuck in the 3rd game, it'll be a 12/10 game.
You’re all here for the ff7 news, I stayed for the Max rant at the end with hundreds of people running up to him at the ff7 concert
"but first I have to figure out how to fly my chickens through these FUCKING hoops" absolutely killed me! LMAO
The final boss of Part 3 is going to be Chadley.
Everybody's talking about a translator, but I don't hear one.. did an audio track get removed? All I hear is them talking very faintly, and Max VERY loud.
Was looking for this comment 💀
Was the same for me until I put both AirPods in
probably the best implementation of the Highwind : the ability to skydive out of it at any point, and what that would actually mean for the whole scale of the game.
Cloud's misses 189 of Chadley's calls
Can’t wait for max to replay ff7 games again when the third part of remake is close to it’s release Then we will all be here watching him play it
Rebirth was an amazing step-up from Remake that was nigh on impossible to believe.
Highlight of the day, Max and anything ff7 related
I only have one criticism of Rebirth. Replaying on hard mode, skipping all of the side quests, didnt feel as complete of a game as Remake.
I think it's more since he already killed Sephiroth once before in Nibelheim (and also stopped him at the end of Remake)
@@TitaniumSalvage No thats not what it meant
I think what he “did before” was taking down an instantiation of Jenova right after seeing someone get merked in front of him
I just laugh and smile to myself when I see a 1+ hour long video from Max on FF7
“I will.....Never be a memory”
I am willing to bet that Sepiroth will convince or persuade Cloud that Aerith could come back... no pain... no loss... everyone will be together.
Boring Disney happy end
37:21 my bet isnt even the triple techs, but what if, we get some highwind interactions, in the veins of streets of rage 1 police car summon? what if, each character can develop their own "orbital bombardment" special with the highwind?
Why everyone and not Cid Highwind?
Would be cool, especially with the possibility that maybe we will get four levels of limit breaks, and Cid's final limit break is the Highwind.
I’m looking forward to Cloud’s omnislash
1:00:50
I remember my reaction to this as well when I got to that part. I was like, let's see how far it will let me go. Just out of curiosity. At a certain point my eyebrows started raising up. "They aren't going to let me do it. No Way they are going to let me do it. No Way! OH MY GODDD they're letting me do it!" 😂
Omg Cloud and Sephiroth teaming up would be sucha fun fan-servicey dream.
Losing Chadley early in part 3 would be amazing
lol 25:01. Thank you Max for answeirng my question on bluepoint games remaking games. Always enjoy watching the streams especially with FFVII.
I feel like they barely said anything new here. We already expected the highwind and snowboarding. Of course there will be more minigames
The GI story is so integral now because they wanted to commit suicide considering that they cannot die and because of that Cloud and the gang has a better understanding OF life and death and Sephiroth doesnt because he hasnt interacted with the GI tribe, from what I can remember.
TWO extra long videos about FF7 this week??? I'm lovin it
you cant please everybody. there are people who complained about demon's souls remake. to me, they are insane, and nitpicky to the moon and back. because if it was done the exact same way, by from soft, they would be praising it to hell and back.
its the exact same issue with dead space remake. its 100% superior in every single way. but lo and behold, people will beach about some small detail of a character that is completely irrelevant. regardless of how superior the remake is.
hell, even nintendo isnt safe. there are people HATE the all star mario collection, because the physics isnt 1-1 the same as the one in the original nes games. or with zelda link's awakening remake, which is the closes thing you could get to the original. there are people who hated it, because it was the exact same game, just pretier.
so if a remake change something minor, people will complain about it losing the "original vision". if it changes something major others will complain that the game is not the same exact experience. and if they change NOTHING AT ALL, there will many others who will ask why even bother since the original still exists making it a pointless remake.
its a war on every front and any decision you make, is the wrong one to someone.
Omniseph is going to sacrifice the other worlds cloud won't let him. He teams with other clouds for ultramegaomnuslash
Dude, how good is this translator.
My concern is if there’s going to be carry overs of items and weapons from part 2, afterall, part 3 is a halfway of the story and starting from scratch doesn’t feel right, I don’t want to be grinding and collecting money that I felt I should already have in part 3, those tedious side quests and challenge need to feel more worth it and add value to the game if it can be carried over.
whats that yuffie? we should go to wutai?... sure why not
Somebody should ask them if they will do alternative endings. Because that might be the only way to not piss off too many people.
1/35th soldier coming to 3rd install... The knights of the round math makes sense divided by 2 😂😂😂
