I didn’t really like the sound effects, but they were balanced properly. They just didn’t sound real. Consider shooting your own audio with a handheld mic like folley artists do after the fact!
We don’t know the meaning of the word “careful”, and if that reckless ignorance means every once in a while you get some gold bounce moving in the wind, or atrocious audio, or terrible acting, so be it. Perfection can’t be achieved so we’re satisfied with creating, learning, and moving on.
The CC is really off, great short but the light on the kid’s scene is all over the place, hard lights, shadows, and a couple of inverse lights, except from that, really good job!
Very enjoyable! Well done for actually getting out there and making it! If you re-visit it, maybe up the Foley a little on the swings, you do stuff that should have sound but nothing. Other than that, loved it. Subscribed and clicked the bell. I Look forward to more.
Great short!!! This is the first time multiple whip-pans have ever been successfully used in a non-3stooges movie!!!!!! You wear the crow!!!!!!! People do them in every camera test but I never see them used!!!!!!
Thanks! We recorded all the dialogue live with a Rode NTG-2 and replaced the rest of the audio with sounds from Epidemic Sound. The lens we used was the Sigma 18-35mm
You can see by the lack of lighting and movement in the camera that it’s an amateur movie. Instead of tripod tripod tripod I’d expect more handheld shots and ideally more moving shots...if you can’t afford to rent a dolly then even a steadicam would be better. His face is way too dark and underexposed 0:42. Any sort of diffused light would help
cool and sound designer on fire
the best films are simple and quality
This was really entertaining, and the sound design was fantastic!
Thanks! we've been putting a lot of work into sound as it's generally been a weak spot for us

Very impressive great job 👏🏾
be careful with the gold bounce moving because of wind or whatever, you can see it in the kid low angle shots

I have watched this like million times... I wanted to ask ... did you connect rode NTG 2 directly into bmpcc6k?
Thank you! Yes, we connected the mic directly into the camera

Oh wow this is brilliant! Can I ask what you used for audio and which lenses?
Curious about audio also, sounds good!

Color is ruff.....they should name that LUT Ketchup! Other than that it looks good! Orange and teal was so 2019 ago 🤣
we may have pushed it too far in a few places... it was fun grading the black magic footage, though very easy to go overboard
