He may take a sentence to explain the discovery of Helm Splitter, but as a watcher, I will never forget the entire 30 minute section of him dashing into a wall before randomly finding that Helm Splitter moved him a few inches to the left
Love the fact that you include both the reboot and DMC2 in your challenge run ideas because the overwhelming majority of people just omit them both, which is sad because DmC is one of my favourites and DMC2 is a game with so little content online outside of people just spamming guns and complaining about Infected Chopper (Infected Chopper does suck but some people think they need to reiterate that one boss exclusively despite the rest of the game being equally rant worth).
I always liked this game more from a gameplay perspective so I'm happy to see my fav DMC YT-er finding out about haha funni tricks that were absolutely necessary for completing a challenge like this.

I remember when I played this on my PS4 I was able to remap Devil Trigger to just R3 cuz I found clicking in both sticks to be so finicky and awkward. I assume you played the PC release, but maybe that could have been an option there too
Remapping anything tied to the left stick was banned for the run because theoretically you just cheese the entire 'challenge' like that. I did remap the Fireworks input just to give myself an easier time with the flight glitch tho.
@LucidEnigmaX Cool. It doesn't take away from how insane this run is, to be frank. Impeccable usage of what the game allows regardless of having everything accessible. This game is quite limiting when you start even on a normal playthrough
After getting Angel Glide and most of the angelic weapons I just FLEW most of the levels😂 I'm not doing your challenge lol But this game is just made for platforming and exploration anyway so I can just mostly glide, dash and stuff
Nah bro, clicking the left stick isn't walking. Or if you prefer Remap the DT activation (if possible on system). Forced walking sections though, yeah ya toast 🤣
DMC devil may cry is practically a poster child for everything wrong with taking an existing franchise and pushing it in a new direction. Now innovation in itself is not bad but when you remove everything unique about the franchise then you go too far. The really sad part is that the game itself is not bad and if the developers just had the guts to make it a new thing with it’s own franchise name then I could see a different reality where it was much more popular. As it stands it just makes the developers seem insecure, that they don’t believe that their product is capable of standing on it’s own legs other than fooling an already existing audience into buying something that is different than what they expected. It’s really sad how many different franchises nowadays that falls victim to this trap when a new company buys the rights or when the original creator passes away etc…
