By limiting your Vergil play to just his projectiles, it does present more of a challenge. Visually, however, it looks more like Vergil not willing to go all out with everything he has, which is probably the greatest insult he could give to his opponents.
I love how that chokehold hallway was such a problem that you had to regain your humanity and remember your ultimate move just to get through. Also, a nasty trick I noticed with V's move is that you can stab enemies through your own back, so it would have been rather tricky to pull off here.
World of V attack could be used as it doesn't really use a weapon as long as you don't hit enemies with the Yamato slash It also heals you, this can be abused in Bloody Palace to infinity heal Vergil just by concentrating on the enemy and trick dodging
He uses the Yamato though, even if we were to make it an exception it is still possible for him to accidentally hit someone or parry an attack when he pulls the sword out after world of V
@@drizzy5721 I feel like the usage of the Yamato in this sense is comparable to the sheathe taunt, it's still technically *using* the Yamato, AND the taunt can deal damage; but it's still allowed, because it's not a direct attack with the weapon and the challenge would be nightmarish without it. Okay, So Malphus. The bird and the demon girl on top have different 'stagger health'. However, they count as one enemy, and the demon girl is much easier to stagger. My approach to this fight is only attacking the bird's limbs when using the portal attack moves, therefore racking up stagger on the bird, and only attempting to attack funny demon girl when bird is down. This prevents the bird from going bonkers. Very fun.
Great video! However, you could have kept using the three swords air taunt even in S rank by keeping beowulf on, and if you worry about the jump damage in Beowulf, you can just unequip the move in the shop.
And all throughout this walkthrough I didn’t see Storm Blades used. So basically you can beat DMCV even without the full mirage swords. As a Vergil main in DMCV I’m motivated
Storm Blades was how I got the Angelo in the air so high at 12:15, but to be fair the majority of the time I ended up using it was as a miss-input trying to do blistering blades while backing up from an enemy. Glad it got you motivated!!
Regarding the Nobody's passive mode I believe it happens when you knock off the Blue Mask IF the Blue Mask is the last mask they put on. If the other mask that makes them more aggressive is the last mask, I believe it's impossible to knock off. Unsure tho :p
You actually can skip mission 12 with multiple ways like jump up teleport second air combo some JC and you are there for the upper ones you can air stinger with edge sword.
I'm interested to what you would think about a DMC3 Style Dante challenge run. 2 Guns 2 Weapons 1 Style per floor No SDT. Try to keep to the DMC3 moveset as much as possible
I like it! I'd probably go with Trickster as the style and have rebellion and cereberus as the weapons and E&I and coyote-a for guns. I think that sounds the most true to the Dmc3 movesets!
I thought of a challenge run for Vergil that was somewhat similar to this. I called it the "unworthy" challenge, in reference to the line "you are not worthy as my opponent" The rules of the challenge were that you couldn't _directly_ attack enemies with Yamato, Beowulf, or Mirage Edge, but you could still use summoned swords like in this video as well as the Doppleganger fighting the enemies on your behalf while you basically taunt the whole time. You could probably use the Doppleganger to knock down the giant bird boss as it's charging toward you One idea I didn't think of when I originally made up the challenge was a small loophole that while you can't directly damage an enemy, you can still parry the attacks that can be parried both to build up the DT gauge and look stylish at the same time.
I’m sure there are people who know this fact, but there is a move that Vergil can do where if you lock on to an opponent, preferably one that mainly uses projectiles as their attacks, Vergil can actually deflect it with any of his weapons. Though you need high concentration for it to work, but even then, it’s really funny.
I'd argue Vergil stabbing himself with Yamato into V and his nightmares don't count as weapon usage. It's a lot damage, a lot healing, and the movie is not listed among weapon skills either, it's a core ability. Incredible how far you went to solve problems but the simplest solution eluded you.
People were saying that when I had 100 subs haha. Thank you, I'm happy to have support from everyone and I would love to continue growing as well! Tell your friends about me ;)
You played this run like I played DMC2. No melee. All ranged. But it was much easier in 2. Only time I HAD to melee in DMC2 was mission 15, I think it was? The one where you have to kill all the enemies within the time limit. Even maxed out in damage, Ebony and Ivory couldn't do enough damage.
I'm surprised you didn't use World Of V! It technically doesn't use any weapons, unless you count Griffon, Shadow Nightmare, and the illusory canes from Royal Fork weapons
