I remember it 'cause DMC4 was my childhood game and it blew my mind when in my xth playthrough I activated the cutscene by using the sword, and it only could've happened if in my previous runs I activated it by different means.
There's an easy way to parry the Savior: Lock-On the attack until the last moment and Buster. Of course you still need to time it, but it's always a guarantee that you face the right direction

The video title is "I TRIED beating..." so you can determine yourself if I succeeded or not! There are certainly arguments to be made about lucifer and even pandora, but without them the run would have literally been impossible so at the very least I was able to deliver a completed run with a set number of restrictions that were laid out at the start. Good job But two small things that could have helped are that some busters can be mashed to get more out of them and you could use the summon swords with Nero without shooting if you use a taunt when you release the button on the ground
Thank you! During one part of the first Sanctus fight you can see I did indeed use that summon sword trick, but I didn't use it too often because sometimes I ended up releasing gun too late and shooting the enemy, which made me have to reset haha

I feel bad no one told you this. i actually thought this had to be done when I first played on higher difficulties in my early years of dmc4. when second sanctus bubble breaks and he blocks with the sword, using buster will automatically fully stagger him and open him up to a free buster attack. it wasn't until i saw mods of dante fighting sanctus 2 that I even learned he could be opened to attack without buster
It left him open but it didn't knock him down, it was actually better for me to let him sit there and block so I could recover and get another free DTE on him
I'm interested to know why you didn't use the modified buster attacks that you get from repeating the input with certain enemies especially when there's no other enemy left. The main ones I'm thinking are the Frosts, Assaults and Angelos. If you repeat the input while already in a buster animation you do more hits and more damage. Not sure if it's more damage overall or faster damage haven't really tested it.
I knew about Frosts and Assaults, but Angelos have one too?! That's awesome! And the reason I generally didn't is simply because I forgot. My mindset was a lot more focused on not pressing any of the weapon-associated buttons. Mashing buster as an option completely slipped my mind!
@@LucidEnigmaX Entirely fair. But yeah, Angelos it does a few more thrusts with the lance before launching and the slams with the lance before launching can actually hit other enemies if it lines up propetly. Also this was a great video, real fun to watch all the suffering lol.
About the locks that you need to use Yamato on, have you tried Omen's first hit? When Dante throws the Pandora down to the ground, it's a hit. I haven't played for a long time, so I'm not sure if it works.

He's doing well, I heard after the fall of the Savior he helped with the Fortuna Rebuilding Program, and once work there was done he got a job at a local Pizza Hut and personally handles Dante's orders whenever he's in town!
Isn't Sparda block from Sanctus meant to be dealt with just like shield block of angelos? Buster? Idk, maybe you just did not get enough time to perform it after explosion.
Buster saw him teleport away too quickly without me being able to recover to DTE. It was better to let him sit there and block, and as soon as he teleported I'd be ready to DTE him again. It was actually so consistent that any time he gave me that I was able to knock him down.
Correct. Such a dumb mistake too. I would have re-done the fight if I had noticed, but it didn't even cross my mind during the fight OR when i rewarched the clip several times in editing. Disappointed with it but I'm still happy with the run overall

There was no cut or edit. She instantly went from her idle animation into her rooted/spread out form. Typically she will fly super high into the sky and slam down, planting each of her tendrils into the ground. None of that happened here

Actually Sancti's first boss fight was designed to be fought using buster/devil bringer: grapple to his minions > break his barrier > buster

Good idea! I did try it, it filled 2 bars. But they would go away before Omen finished so it was just too slow to work unfortunately

Wait did you use the gun during the first Sanctus fight? Or did you do the attack in a way that only the summon swords attack him?
If you release gun during an animation like the DTE or the beginning of a taunt, it will fire the summoned swords but not actually shoot the gun
