STICK AROUND UNTIL THE END so you can see pics of this car E-coated after the Chemical dipping process!
Today I am chemically removing all the paint and rust off another 1972 De Tomaso Pantera prior to its complete restoration. I’m going to take you through the process we use to completely chemically strip cars down to bare metal. This is a more thorough alternative to sand/media blasting with no chances of metal warping on thin panels. This process shows you exactly what you are working with and gives you a blank canvis to work with!
It is a 3 step process
Step 1) alkaline degreaser and paint remover
Step 2) Food grade Rust removing acid
Step 3) Water based rust inhibitor
The total process takes around 6 weeks because we use environmentally safe chemicals.

Thank you for showing us. The final results It’s really great to see how the car finally turns out. You do great work. It would be great to see a car in its final production.
Stay away from them or you will be sorry! I tried contacting them but their phone system is so bad I couldn't understand what they were saying so they were told to contact me by text or email but they ignored that and kept calling dozens of times to the point that I had to block their number!
They still look as beautiful today as they did when they first came out. Timeless styling!
Anyone else want to see these cars progress ?
I wish somebody had told me when I was 16 that this was a job choice. I would’ve loved to have been doing this!
RUclips is so great, people can share unique things while basically advertising
Absolutely great job, I hope businesses like this remain here in the US
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I had a 1971 and 1973 Pantera and they were plagued by rust. This is a Good one and great Video.
LOL at the skeleton in the tank during the insurance ad read.
😳🤣
Seems like whoever repainted it yellow did a better than average prep and paint job. Dipping works really well. These are fun videos to watch. Thanks.
Probably the cleanest car I've seen. Great one to start with.
Except you'll have better luck finding Sasquatch than original parts for a Pantera lol
After your OUTSTANDING cleaning, that Pantera is going to be one very sweet restoration...fantastic!!
That was a very nice follow up from the customer with the pictures at the end, great work as always man 😎👍 may God bless you all 🙏
Thank you! Much appreciated. It was hard holding off posting the video. This car was actually done months ago and I wanted to wait and get the follow up pics before posting.
Good video, lots of details. I've been working on cars n trucks for 50+ years but I still learn a lot seeing them when stripped bare. Thanks
Thanks buddy! I appreciate that
Very cool to watch. I had the privilegie of helping with the restoration of a 70's 280Z after this whole process was done and it came back from paint. My boss was very rich, so he had every part replaced with new parts, even the entire wiring harness.
To have a car dipped in the UK, it would likely cost less, to actually ship it to you. Car dipping here is like trying to find Narnia. Love your work man 👍
Thanks buddy! I really appreciate that
absolutely beautiful to see the final welding seams at the end. really reminds you that they built these cars out of METAL. great work!! definitely happy to subscribe
So good to see one with almost no rust. Excellent paint finish after all the dipping.
I realized why I like your videos! It's like your painting (unpainting!) the vehicle with bare metal!
Neighbor had a heavily modded 71 and i spent hours staring at it as a kid when allowed. Later a Mangusta in a shop I worked in Briefly. These cars are just timeless. What a fantastic dip job. So cool to see them come back and I was shocked at how little filler there was. Too Cool!
That's a lot of work ! You did a great job !
Thanks buddy!
In 1973 when I was in High School I had a part time job at a Datsun/BMW dealership. We got a 1972 Pantera in on a trade for BMW 3.0 CS. It was a yellow one like the original color on this one. It had been in a minor collision on the left nose area right at the pop up headlight. This was during the fuel crisis and they couldn’t get rid of the Pantera with that gas sucking V-8. I got to drive it several times. I’ve always wanted a Pantera but they were always just out of reach. Now they’re way out of reach. Neat car. This just might be the car we had at our dealership, damage at the same spot.
This could be your car. That be cool.
I bought a 454 thinking gas was down to 1.00 per gallon.
I still have it. Was in kindergarten at Denver, Colo 1973/74 school year
Man that would be so cool if it was the same one! What state were you in if you don’t mind my asking?
@ Clearwater,Florida.
Brilliant segue into the ad BTW...😂
Glad to see that Pantera wasn't hiding much
Thanks for the explanation of the process, you answered a lot of my questions as we got through the video
Loved the video , awesome job on the DeTomaso , love these cars , big fan of the restomods with the wide body and wing in the back but I'll take an original anyday , iconic car from when America was obsessed with speed and performance, the rear engine Ford is the icing on the cake !
Great video. Thanks for talking about the underside process! Great work
No problem! Thanks for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it
Nothing brings out the attention to detail like a Pantera. 👍
What an amazing car. It's almighty perfect, just a little skilled body repair, and it'll be better than factory. I hope the owner is pleased with your work, because I know what he has to work with now.
'Cemetery Gates' and 'Five Minutes Alone' are my favorite Pantera songs.
I posted a video on my IG pressure washing the paint off some of the Pantera parts and I used “shedding skin” as the background song. It was very fitting lol
CHEERS from AUSTRALIA - thanks for the underneath stuff.
So satisfying to see the paint/grunge washing off!
I was stationed at Ft Huchuca AZ in 1971 after retuning from Vietnam. I still remember the amazing feeling walking around a Pantera in a parking lot there - how shocked at how low the roof was to me.
Thanks + good the owner wanted to do the best job possible, a Pantera deserves it.
I agree! It definitely deserves it. Thanks for watching!
My absolute dream car.
Great work as usual. Humor is an added value. I feel like I am getting my money's worth with this channel.
If you are going all the way, you gotta go all the way. Beautiful specimin.
I'm watching your videos, they attract something. But it has always been interesting to me to look at the future of the automobile body (how it is galvanized and painted, turning into a car).
You revealed that yellow paint was ON there! Great car to restore especially choosing the e-coating!
Someone did a beautiful job of replacing that front cross-member and lower front valance.
These videos are so nice and calming to watch
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them!
That my friend was amazing. A true job of love.
Thats one off the nicest Pantera body’s ever zero to nothing rust❤🎉
Even without her makeup this old girl's gorgeous.
So satisfying!👍🏴
Great video, much more detailed than some of the previous ones.
You do Great work very thorough.
Customer must be very happy with the results.
Great car and the video of this would be a great part on the story of the car. Great job stripping.
Looks like it is in fabulous shape
I have to say Trevor I think that was a decent strip
That car was in very good condition to start with and I expect the next restoration will make it look very good
That e coat came out amazing 👍👍🇦🇺
RIP Dime and Vin.
Thanks for the video. Great detail in what you do to strip a car.
E coat is really good, one unfinished project was three years outside here and didn’t rust. Two pack clear coat is also the daddy :o) I have it on my van. It is mega resilient.
Excellent job
Thank you!
Very interesting vid ! And a great result. Thx for showing !
Greetings.😊
Thanks buddy! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That was impressive!
Thanks!
That car is in fantastic shape...
That car is in great shape for a ‘72!
Great job! The yellow Pantera is not bad, but my generation still has a strong image of red and black.
So satisfying watching this and I don’t know why
I’m glad you enjoy it! Much appreciated!
عملك رائع في نزع الصدأ مع اللون و تعقيم هذي الايقونه الكلاسيكية من السيارات السريعه الرياضية
و مع تدخل الشركه زاد هذا المقطع حده و روعه
dang thats a clean body
First time i comment ! Amazing car... amazing job... global amazing process. Hope for the owner it will be a fantastic totally new car soon !!
Excellent careful work!
Thanks buddy!
Today just got a whole lot better 🙂
This is soooooooo satisfying for my OCD :)
Que buenos trabajos realizas , este es el primero que veo en el que limpias los bajos de un coche espero que podamos ver como quedan las puertas los capots y la cajuela , felicitaciones por tan buenos trabajos.
Thank you for that. Great channel
And thank you for your support! I really appreciate it!
That’s in really good condition 😮
The car came out great this is awesome. After all the steel work is done, they should dip the entire car in max clr epoxy mixed with ten percent silica.
Fifty two year old car, in remarkable shape. Good work, more work than the red one, though.
I found out a couple of weeks ago the ONLY place that offers this same service in all of Australia has closed its doors for good. Its really sad thing for all car restoration enthusiasts. All we have left is media blasting.
I wish we had the same restoration support in Oz as you guys get in the USA.
Obviously don't know how much prior work was done to it, but that has to be the nicest Pantera tub on the planet...lol.
That body is in great condition.
I wonder what it's original colour was and what colour it'll be once the restauration is completed 🙂
It's gonna be an awesome car that's for sure 👍
Love to see a follow up!!
Quite possibly the best video I have had recommended to me by RUclips. Back in the 80s I had the job of steam cleaning trucks before they went off for annual inspection and that bad boy steam cleaner we used would strip the truth out of a politician it was that powerful! Just wondered why you use a pressure washer (albeit a very high psi one) and don’t use a steam cleaner?
Great job! Not a speck of paint or filler.
Thanks buddy
Use dry ice to remove the sound deafening…… Works wonders!
Just stumbled across your channel by accident. Very cool, interesting and will be subscribing. Peace from Calgary, Canada. p.s. If rust is your bane....this place would give you nightmares. Up here, we do most of our body work with a broom and a dust pan. lol
Thanks buddy! I appreciate you subscribing! I’ll keep the videos coming!
You can call this process lazarus, it has definitely been resurrected, excellent work.
Thanks buddy!
That was very satisfying. Thanks
Vice Grip Garage just recently bought a Pantera from a family in Toronto……I bet it could use a dip or four at your facility.
You guys should contact him as he has millions of subscribers and could be beneficial for your channel and gain new subscribers.
Just a thought.
Wooooooow awesome work!! Congrats
satisfying to watch
My dudes, stop asking about the accidents. He will not stop talking about it.
It would be awesome if this customer gave you the end result of the restoration. Incredible work on this great chassis.
very good job need see more
A few days later... the world's lightest Pantera
Another fine job🎉
Love the color
Impressive I worked on these in the late 80s and so many were complete rust buckets and parts were about impossible to find for the bodies I have nightmares of remaking the underhood area
Man those big tubs for cars has me wanting to use them to plate car frames... imagine gold/silver plating... using the process to fill in pitting? pin holes?
Imagine a large all in one shop that had part to take in cars, next disassembly, then frame bath and parts to parts shop, then a paint booth, and ressembly, like fords idea for making cars put to frame off restro?
Is did a great job brother
Thanks buddy!
A tank with zinc chromate primer would be an awesome service to add to your business.
That would be awesome! Maybe one day!
Nice job sir Nice show sir cool 😃👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks buddy! I appreciate that!
Man this reminds me of the exact same car of a guy in Syracuse.
Pantera 🎵🎸🎶
Would look amazing in green
The De Tomaso Pantera is a sports car produced by De Tomaso in Italy. It was introduced in 1971.
Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you! Happy thanksgiving to you too! I hope it was a good one!
I'm assuming the chemical used is 4181 Alkaline cleaner @180 degrees? I'm retired from a plating shop and used that cleaner for many procedures. Great stuff.
I have a new favorite channel
Thank you I appreciate it! Uploading another video as we speak!
Came here for a striper... nice car... but I AM NOT PLEASED. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
A dream for boys with there toys 🧸
