My s&b is mafe for the 6.2 and 5.3. Has a different rubber coupler for each but comes with both. Will be doing this. Thank you for doing it.
That's crazy for a manifold and tb.
Definitely a nice pick up for sure!
I recently installed a 6.2 intake manifold and throttle body on my gmc Sierra 5.3 and I have noticed a little bit of gains in performance and MPG along with a more aggressive growl
i wanna upgrade throttle body and manifold do i have to go get tune if i install them or can i drive it like that
All you need to upgrade the intake to fit the 6.2 TB is a 4" Coupler. the 5.3 is 3.75"
Correct 👍👍
I was thinking about that and then I remembered they sent me another bigger coupler when I got my CAI 😂
I watched the first episode on the Chevy and it was at 329 hp now you're at 365 hp. That's a lot of money for 40 hp.
Welcome to the world of tuning. HP costs to get a few ponies. Weight reduction is usually cheaper way to achieve some results
Thanks very much for all your hard work into this project and videos.
Appreciate that! Glad it is helping the community out. Trying to be as thorough as possible
@@TheSundaeDrive that's what I'm saying. I find it hard to believe, no offense.
Bro that color is insanely awesome.... Painted or wrapped?
FIRST! LOL, yea been waiting but understandable with being busy, love the truck!
Thanks man! Yeah life doesn't slow down lol
Can you still tow with the stage 1 cam? Looking for cam that will add power, sound awesome and be able to tow
Great info for truck owners
Glad to help!
What kind of exhaust setup does the truck im the video have??
Would a 6.2 intake manifold have different ports than the l83 heads ?
Did the truck have the stage 1 cam when you dyno’d it in this video?
Yes it did
Hell i would just swap a 6.2 into the truck...
Will changing the intake and throttle body effect the tune on the truck im
Curious on doing this mod to my pick up , I have full Bolton’s and a flex tune 321hp and 376tq, curious to know if this will throw the tune off
I did the L86 conversion
K&N FIPK
Installed jet chip MAF
Tuned ECM
Changes intake values to match factory 6.2 values(CFM)
93 oct tune
Disabled AFM system
Tuned TCM
MSD blaster coils
Flowmaster side discharge exhaust
153.5” wheelbase
Aftermarket driveshaft
Dyno 433 hp- 468lb/ft torque
16.7 mph in city/ 19.4 hwy
22” rims 35” tires
Crew cab/6.5’ bed
I pull a 34’ camper and get 11.2 mph while towing
I’m satisfied
Did the new drive shaft eliminate the "Chevy Shake" at around 75mph that many of our trucks experience?
No it did not but it did allow me to dyno without issue!
I'm glad mine doesn't shake or anything at any speed and it's all factory . 2019 silverado 5.3 top speed 115 .
Mine was p rated tires just threw on lt tires and mines gone
You give up on modding the Silverado?
Can you clarify that this was including the stage 1 cam, stock manifolds/exhaust? I’m guessing either 91 or 93 octane?
I’m trying to figure out myself. Because I hear it’s only worth doing the intake swap for modified engines.
My 2018 has a stock drive shaft , without the ends stepped down, just like your aftermarket one. I'm not sure what year GM upgraded?
Some of the trucks I think have a beefier drive shaft depending on the package. Does your truck have a speed limiter around 100?
@@TheSundaeDrive I'm not sure if it's 100 mph governed, never tried it 😁 My truck is a Z71, so maybe that's the difference ? It would be interesting to peek under, say a 15' than the 16', which was a refresh, and see if that is notable.
It might be a z71 thing. Mine is not.
@@TheSundaeDrive Sure, If I were a betting man, I would say GM upgraded all the 4X4 half tons to the beefier drive shaft toward the end of the model run....possibly to help rectify the "chevy shake"...mine is pretty smooth, even with slightly oversize wheels and tires. Don't know.
Could be! Could do a part numbers check to see if the z71s have different driveshafts or if the drive shaft part number was changed for the 16 and newer model years
How much did you lose in mpg’s with the 6.2 manifold and throttle body?
I haven't driven with it long enough to see a difference but I really doubt it will effect fuel economy in any meaningful way - increase or decrease
@@TheSundaeDrive that would be good. If i keep my foot out of mine i can get low 20’s, not at interstate speeds though.
That's definitely better than me with these new tires lol
It significantly lowered my gas mileage!!! Average 12 mph now from like 17-18. BUT i have several exhaust leaks atm, muffler delete. Stock tune. Help!!!! Do we need a muffler for back pressure in these na trucks?
Back pressure is a myth. You don't need or want it
Is your intake and throttle body ported
No. Just upgraded to the 6.2 but not ported
How many hp more ?
If I do this on my 2015 5.3 do you have to perform and engine tuning after the install? Or does the computer adjust itself?
Yes, you’d need a tune
It will run fine without a tune but gas mileage definitely down. I would definitely get a tune.
Do u know if a c7 Vette intake will fit
Not sure about that.
It will fit
A lot of money for that much horsepower
Big money and lots of work for nothing really a cold air adds 12 to 15 so did it really only add 3 hp
If I'm remembering correctly we did before and after only changing the intake manifold and throttle body. So all the gains were only from those two items. We did a separate video with the intake manifold. Also, I got the intake manifold and throttle body used on eBay for less than $200
