Just a quick video showing how I replaced the rear brake pads & rotors on a 2001 Chevy Silverado 4x4 truck. The rotors were worn down metal to metal and making a terrible grinding noise when braking. This is the same for 1999-2006 models with the rear single piston caliper and 6 lug pattern. Sorry I didn't show the adjuster for the parking brake shoe, but it's just a 'starwheel' that you can turn (like a turnbuckle) outwards to tighten the brake, or you can turn it in if the brake shoe is so tight that you can't get the
drum part back over the shoes.
The Torque specs I found online:
Caliper bracket bolt 85 ft lbs
Caliper Slide Pin bolt 30 ft lbs
Tools needed:
12mm socket and / or wrench
16mm open end wrench
18mm socket and or wrench
breaker bar or long handle wrench
sil-glyde or other brake grease
C-clamp or Caliper Compression tool
