- In this video, I will walk you through the steps to install a new shower valve (Amazon - RKF Pressure Balance System) in an existing shower that has ceramic tile using basic tools! There will be no need to repair and/or replace the ceramic tile or tub surround. It’s a lot easier to just repair the drywall on the opposite side of the wall. Following these simple instructions, you will not need to hire an expensive plumber and this project was done for less than $100!
As always, thanks for watching!

I love how he said, these shark bites are cheating and most plumber will frown upon their use, but we aren’t really plumbers are we!!!!!! Subscribed
You are so spot on!
Really appreciate the clear, concise instructional and annunciated narration without any overpowering music. Not too brief and not overly in-depth. Thanks!
This video was very easy to watch-perfect length and to-the-point with no weird transitions, “special effects” or music. 👍🏻
Best video I’ve found Thank you for listing items needed to get the job done. Very informative… And you do make it look easy! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you sir. I searched many videos until I found yours. Perfect 👌
Clear post-edit voiceover, good advice, good humor, my guy you got it all down.
I appreciate that the homeowner let you do that on their sofa
Luckily, I’m the homeowner. 😉
This is awesome!!! You should have a DIY masterclass ... The best teacher I've found on RUclips ... going to check out your other videos ... my back wall is in the dining room ... thought I was going to have to replace the entire shower!! This will work so well!!
Finally, a clear explanation of a simple installation method! Thanks for this video.
Great job! I'm about to start a bath/shower remodel and the Sharkbite approach will really make the project much easier. Thanks!
Great video. You made it so simple and easy. Thank you very much.
Sir: I found your channel through a search. I am mad at myself that I did not find you years ago! Sir: you are so practical, articulate, funny, and a GREAT DIY GURU. I have subscribed and am now a fan. THANK YOU, THANK YOU for getting right to the action. 🎉🎉🎉
This comment alone, has given me the motivation I need to get some more videos up! Thank you for the sub!
Thanks Ron! I was just about to order new tub surround as the valve started leaking and saw your video. Saved me over 4K!
Wow! I would have never thought going through the back wall! What an ingenious way you did this! Beautiful Job!!! Thank you for the video!!
Thanks for watching!
OMG! You just solved 2 issues for me in the first 3 minutes.
1. A hanger
2. Emory cloth
Thank you!
DIY Ron, I appreciated your video. I am not a plumber, and love DIY projects. I followed everything you did, except I didn’t cap the bottom valve (for our bathtub) and it worked out perfectly. Thanks again,
Really nice job. My honey-do list just got an entire bathroom faucet replacement project. So that's three faucets. Lol. But the shower was where I was nervous. You made it look easy. And the back of my shower is a closet, so I may leave a removable panel back there for future repairs. Thank you so much for this video.
Hey Ron, Great job as usual. We appreciate you and all your helpful tips. Be Blessed & Have a great week!🙏🏼
Thanks!
Ron, this was very helpful. I have to replace a valve next week and I didn’t want to solder if I didn’t have to. Also I was going to take out the drywall from behind so I glad I watched your video.
Thanks! This is the exact thing we need to do to replace a non-working valve in a shower.
You gave me the confidence to try this myself. I have 2 to change. Thank you so much!
Happy belated 1 year anniversary to you and Sharon. Thank you for sharing this video. You the man. Take care and have a great week. 🙂
Awww! Thanks!
@@rontalley You're welcome....🙂Aye! 🦾
Im about to take this on myself! Thank you for building my confidence!
Wow! This was amazing! Well done 👏
Ron, thank you so much for this video!
Great video, and dang, that's brilliant to use a hanger to find the spot on the opposite drywall!
I like how you take the steps to show us how do it the right way. Thanks so much
Thanks!
This was anything but the right way…but one accomplishment is this will keep us plumbers with lots of future work
Ron you definitely have me the confidence I needed to do it myself. I bought new fixtures and realized I would have to take out the tub and shower unless I did it your way! Definitely got a sub from me!
Glad I could help. Thanks for subbing!
Outstanding! I'm going to give it a go! Thanks, Ron! You ROCK!
You’re the man, Ron!!!
Glad I found this video. I butchered my old shower valve trying to drill out a stuck Moen cartridge and put some scratches in the brass that now leaves me with a constant leak. I have been dreading the thought of replacing it myself but didn’t want to pony up $1000 or more to get a plumber in to do the job. I had never seen Sharkbite before but you made it look very manageable. I can do this!
Yes you can! 💪🏾
Good project. Exactly the info I was needing as I have the same situation at my house. Thanks!!!!
You share such great info in a practical manner. I appreciate you brother. Thank you.👍
I appreciate the encouragement!
Excellent video. Thanks Ron !
Ron, first time viewer. Thanks for the video. It’s always good finding easier methods to a tough problem. I like how you used the shark bites and demonstrated step-by-step!
Thanks for watching. Hope to gain you as a subscriber!
Glad to see someone besides 'This Old House' explain the steps in layman's term! Thank you!
Wow, that’s so motivating! Thanks for watching and the awesome feedback! 💪🏾
Ron I would have think hard about letting my husband do this to our dry wall. You a pro at doing that kind of job. Thanks for sharing.
You all can do it!!!
Nice job, bathroom turned out great!
Very well done ✅
Everything I needed to get a job done, thanks man.
Better work than most pro plumbers i have worked with Brother...! Can see you take pride in your work' Not just the Dollar amount......!
Nice man, I have a mobile home I'm retrofitting with all standard valves and fixtures so this is exactly what I needed to see. I wasn't sure how it would work only having access from the back but seems like I shouldn't have much trouble. Nice vid bro.
Thank you so much for this video. My shower head has leaked for years due to a faulty valve that no one wants to touch. I always wondered if I could replace it from behind. The shower backs up to my closet so this tells me that is a great way to replace the valve!
Awesome video, simple and concise
Great job RonThanks for being so detailed !
Thanks!
Good stuff, thanks Ron!
Thanks Ron. Good stuff
I really liked your video. We've done so many projects and sink plumbing was some of it. Now it's matching shower and tub faucets. I'll be adding a closet access door though.
Hey just saved me alot of headache soldering, thank you !!! Amazing job!!
Thanks for watching!
nice thanks Ron!
Beautiful shower/ Bathroom...awesome job done again 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💛💛💛💫👋🏽💎🦋🇬🇧
Thanks!!
I love shark bites! Just make sure you debur the inside and outside before making the connection.
You really explain everything is such great detail
Great job! Thanks
Very well presented Thanks for the video
You did a better job than most licensed plumbers would do.
Maybe consider putting down the meth pipe before commenting next time
Good job ron
Thanks bro I’m pretty handy but I don’t trust my welds/ soldering I’m going to give this a try
Excellent video!
Looking good! the hardest part was the drywall repair and paintin!
I was really skeptical of tge PEX line back around 10 years ago before I helped run all the plumbing in a multipurpose building for a Bible camp. I was amazed at how simple PEX made the process & now Shark Bites are even easier without the need for any special tools. And you're right you might not be a "real" plumber, & when you're talking about water & the risk of causing thousands or tens of thousands of dollars of damage & mold abatement due to a bad solder joint keeping your ego in check & knowing your skills & limitations is vital.
Awesome work, a plumber quoted me $1,000 to replaced a three handle shower valve into one. I will do it my self.
I've done this a few times. Works perfectly.
If it worked perfectly, you would only have to do it once.
Great video, thanks so much!!! 👍👍👍
Great job, this is an awesome video!
Thank you! This video was very helpful
Very nice tutorial video. Thank you Bro.
This was wonderful! New subscriber!
Bruh! This is the exact video that I needed to finish replacing the old mixing valve that I broke trying to remove 😅
Good Morning Brother Ron😄Great video thank you for always sharing your gift with the world, loving the gold. Have awesome great wonderful bless day Asè🥰

Yes it’s so elegant and I love the entire bathroom team work❤️❤️
You’re welcome
WELL DONE MR RON

Great video
RON - I assure you that I won't being trying this, but THANKS for that CONFIDENCE 🤩💃🏻 ... You did the dang thang as usual 🙌🏽
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice job!
Bro you killed, nice job 👍
GREAT JOB TY
Good job!
My brother you nice with it 👊🏽💯
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This gave me the confidence to tackle this job myself. Off to Lowe's I go! 😊
How did it go?
Great video! I used shark bites temporarily while I was remodeling my bathroom, but once I was done, I took them off. I just couldn’t trust them. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Yeah, I typically solder everything but it’s good to have options that the average DIYer could do.
I installed shark bites on my water heater from the public water supply to the house. This was about eight years ago. Haven’t had a problem. I don’t know why they get such a bad rap but the work just as good or better then PVC or Copper.
Every plumbing company in town won’t guarantee work done with shark bites for a reason!
Thanks for this tutorial man, really appreciate it!
First time seeing your work; well done amigo.
Thanks! Hope I gained a sub!
Thanks Ron, exactly what I needed to see. If you’re ever in the Detroit area I owe you a beer.
That’s a bet!
Hello Ron, Thank you for sharing this video because I was changing my shower head but the water 💦 kept squirting out and I knew I forgot to do something because I've done it before now I see where I went wrong I forgot to put the tape on it, so here I go back and do it right 👍🏽 again TFS your knowledge with us aye💪🏽 aye💪🏽
Yep, you need the tape unless it has the rubber washer. TFW!
Hey Ron The DIY Guy, Nice Shirt! Great job! Aye💪 TFS. Take care, Have a Blessed day!💜
Thanks so much!
Great video man. Needed this
Thanks for this! I'm trying to get mine replaced and so far five plumbers have ghosted me, so I may just do it on my own.
You’re great! Thx for the info
Thank you for your video. I was a bit exhausted when my shower head broke, then the valve was leaking. My was similar to yours. 😂.
I agree, that is where the boogy man lives😊
Hey Ron great video 💞
Thanks!!
I've been putting the same project off for a while and now it's a problem. I'm using shark bites like you are with the exception of using some flex tubing for inbetween pieces. (I'm replacing a two handle shower valve) Your vid was clear, easy to hear, great camera position, and when you said about the boogie man I laughed! Thanks for giving me the confidence to do this job today.
You got this! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for that. i was a little worried about using shark bites, but you made it look easy..
They are easy! If you can solder then that’s better but shark bites are good as long as you make sure you push them on all the way.
Too nice. You are very talented. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾🇿🇦
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Great video just what we needed to see. New sub here!!!!
Thanks Ron !
nice video! funny narration too! new sub.
Awesome video thank you for this
You are mor then welcome!
Looks good! Thanks for the post. I never heard of SharkBite. Seems safer for us “not a real Plummer jobs” then trying to sweat a few pipes around drywall and wood studs.
A LOT safer if you do not have the fire retardant cloths.
Ron u the man!!thks sir
