Thank you for this video! I wasn't even thinking about just reusing the existing copper connections by removing the solder joints - but you saved me a ton of time and work. Thank you!

Well done. To the point and no frills or drama. Thanks.

Well done! Do you have a video to show how you closed up the wall (cement backer board) and re-tile?

After replacing the valve, can you re-use the old cement backer board or should you replace the entire board?

Also when cutting copper pipe it needs to be reamed on the inside of the pipe. Code specifies reamed to full bore

my shower goes from hot to cold and from cold to hot . I already replace the cartridge. Would this valve be the reason ?

    Hi dear
Is this procedure safe to do from small hole like shower cap hole? Any possibility for leaks behind the wall after the job done

I was quoted about 1120 for this yesterday (for labor only I have the parts). That's why I am watching this video :). I have a tile that needs to be cut and there is no access panel on the back.

Same here Emin, $1200 plus tax. Built-in cabinet behind so no access either. Guess this is an average price.

You can buy a small torch, solder, flux, and Emory cloth or the tool that they have to clean copper for probably under 50-60$ just go to a home improvement store or look up a plumbing sales company in your area. Its not hard, I learned this in a day before RUclips, I suggest looking up a video and doing it yourself. Now wall repair if needed, i would probably leave that a pro....

@@son_of_guns I did the same, but I did some practicing with sweating the copper pipe on some scrap before doing the actual job. Thanks.

He didn't ream any of his pipe. That is the most important thing when working with copper.

I came across an issue with the same shower valve. The shower head was leaking with good pressure even with the tub spout off, even with the tub spout removed. Shortened the pipe for the spout but the didn’t do it. Replaced the cartridge with a new one and still the shower head sprays water as if the spout is on but the spout is no even installed lol.
I did notice the “up” word on the valve is facing downwards and not upwards as is says.
Could this be the problem pls help.

It would have been helpful to see how you pulled apart the old pipes after you heated them. I noticed you didn't have gloves on and didn't say anything about eye protection.

It was pretty obvious he dipped his hands in candle wax before starting for hand protection. As well was wearing contact lenses for eye protection.
