Just a suggestion Tim not really criticism because you did a great job it looks good. But I have also done this in the past where I leave a 1/2” brass cap on that bottom piece but what I’ve started doing is I’ll just soder on a cap now it gives me further piece of mind that there won’t be any leaks at all. But you’re way works great too that Teflon and pipe dope will hold. And I feel like the small nub on the top end of the valve seemed a bit short but it’s not too crazy pressurized water going through there and it’s only for about 10 minutes at a time so you’ll be fine but I get nervous when I have a small nub like that personally. But I always enjoy watching your videos Tim thank you for putting them out for us.
Hey Walter. I like the fact you call them “ells” and not 90’s, not that it’s a bad thing. My dad always called them Street or regular ells, lol! He was the best/greatest plumber I ever knew!
Nice video with clear explanations. I just recently disassembled a setup very much like this because the seats and springs on the cartridge were worn and causing a drip, and from that experience I would suggest putting a bit of anti-seize grease on the two long screws holding the face plate on and the small hex screw holding the handle on. Those things can get locked in there real tight. 10 years down the line someone will thank you for taking that little extra step when they have to disassemble things. 👍
Tim great video and you always do a good job explaining what's going on while you're doing your job, you did everything right, I usually install the new shower arm blow the system full throttle with water to remove any settlement and then I'll put a cap on the arm and pressure the system to make sure no slow dripping going on behind the wall because even a slow leak can cause destruction over time , but I'm working on wood framing 90 percent of the time. Thanks for sharing this video and please keep making them , there like frosted flakes ,there great lol 😆.
Great video! Told me what I wanted to know (hire a pro to replace mine). I am curious why you didn't cap the bottom before installing. I would think it'd be easier outside the tiny hole.
I am facing this issue- we are renovating the bathrooms, the constructors put new delta valve for the two bathrooms and the day after that we noticed kitchen cold tab is having warm/hot water. The constructors stated that he didn’t touch kitchen so it’s not his issue; but this only happened after he put on new valves for the new bathrooms, not they are still at demo stage, I don’t know how to find which valve is causing the issue
great video! thanks!! I have a question: does the O-ring need to stay in the groove? or just let it slide into the end of the valve? 9 min 23s of the video. Thanks
Thanks man! In real life all this stuff isnt set up on a table with ac on....its just like this video here.. and getting it done Correctly is still the game plan. Sum just cant perform in jacked up Situations...Respects!!!
Oh, the dreaded bonnet nut. How dare you not grease that dang thing and the handle set screw!. Lol. Lastly, if I change out the shower arm, I always let water blow through it and clear it before I install a new head. Clear the debris. Looks good.
Want to replace a 32 year old delta shower setup with a new delta sandover kit, I'm thinking, especially after reading instructions for the tub spout that I need a real plumber.
I have to do the same . Replace old delta with new. You gave me much needed confidence. Thank you sir

Great video Tim. Street ells and slip couplings are great problem solvers. Good camera work and clear explanations.

I concur.... now let me try..
It takes a lot of talent to solder in such a tight space. I’m very impressed that nothing caught on fire.
Great job. You make it look easy

Great job Tim Thanks for sharing the video.
Sweet job Tim!
I love that 10000 valve. Just did one today. Patience and determination to overcome. My definition for plumbing...
Looked pretty good! I would have been afraid of laying my hands open. Done it before!
Awesome . Exactly what I needed to see.
A great, all American plumbing video!

Good job Tim in a very tight space. It's almost like you knew what you were doing. 🙂 I was waiting for the sliced knuckle on that rough tile edge.
Appreciate it

That's a mechanic install. Nice job
Thanks for watching
How mush you charge for that I’m doing the same I don’t know what to charge
Very nice Install, how many man hours do typically charge from something like this? No worries if you prefer to keep that private. Great video.
Im bout to attempt this first time doing it 😱
Good job Tim, but I think you put the the hose for the sprayer on backwards.
I wouldn’t doubt it

If I use threaded fittings is that still ok?
Last time the bonnet assembly was replaced in the delta what happened ?
How much does this cost parts labor? I’m dealing with this exact problem
Why wouldn't you use a threaded end?
Why is just hot water coming from my delta shower ??? How can i fix this problem ,,
Want to replace a 32 year old delta shower setup with a new delta sandover kit, I'm thinking, especially after reading instructions for the tub spout that I need a real plumber.
I would’ve made the riser longer going out of the top of the shower valve. You had room to do that…
Me too
You need flex bro
How much would you charge for this? Just trying to see how much should I pay someone for this job. Don’t want to get ripped off.
