@@viewtifuljon8105 I am honestly not sure, considering the number of turn based Strategy games that have come out. Not only that... IMO its a bit harder to judge a remake compared to something really new. Honestly a remake is a bit safer than a new installment, but Advance Wars was a bit niche already. I wouldn't rule out a new Advance Wars game entirely honestly. Hopefully though it won't be just a remake. But... the problem is where do we take the story? The original Trilogy was kinda wrapped up with Dual Strike pretty well, with the threat of Black Hole being defeated once and for all. Days of Ruin... not sure about being able to continue that storyline as if felt like a one and done.
@@chrisjohnson1146story. How about a time skip. Where Sonja and Andy are like Nell's age, so you can add a new cast and rebalance/alter some of the current cast. Sonja still has the seeds of a villain arc. Maybe if you do one that isn't as over the top as the story ROM hack that Deejus has been playing. Even if you want to do an a**pull, Black Hole can return.
@@emperorarima3225 A Timeskip is plausible. Although I'd hesitate to use Black Hole again. After Dual Strike, having Hawke take over command of Black Hole does leave them on a bit of a Friendlier stance with the Alliance nations, not to mention that the Alliance is going to be on them like White on Rice if they so much as twitch. We'd need a new enemy. Maybe one hiding in the shadows, maybe borrow a page from Battalion Wars and have some small nation try to reclaim past glory while the Big 5 (Counting Black Hole) were busy with each other, only for them to make some big mistake. I wouldn't say they manipulated Black Hole into war with the other nations though. Keep it unrelated.
Here’s a better way to think of transport. You’re making an investment to reduce the range between your front, and your bases. This creates sweet spots where the enemy is fighting closer to your reinforcement range then they think they are, and where you can for example get two turn reinforcements, instead of three. But the big winners of this are naturally the infantry. Often in advance wars mid game, the infantry get decimated, you push into the enemy, and they push you back before anything could be captured. This helps prevent that. Rip’s final turn is also worthy of note. In fact the south, he has the main fight of his organized and tightly packed units fight his opponents strung out units. In the middle he is caping multiple properties forcing the enemy to either concede them or divert reinforcements while both armies are fighting. In the north, he waited until that precise moment to call his opponents bluff on his opponent’s skeleton crew defense. As another divert unit tax or lose properties. When you attack on all fronts in AW and it’s the winning move, that goes to show how hard you dominated your opponent.
I think we're all missing the important news with is that Mangs and other high level players play diplomacy. Mangs! Please stream a diplomacy match for us sometime!!!
The mistake was pushing when X-machina was near. I get it, there's a pressure to be doing something, progressing each turn. In practice, sometimes it's best to do nothing, or even completely move fronts.
Damned if you do or you don't at that point. Sure you could delay the inevitable a few turns but if you don't play aggressive and try to claw back some properties you are guaranteed to lose in a few days due to such an income disparity. "Especially against a strong player".
Yeah Olaf wants the games to go as long as possible to pop many SCOP's to wear down the opponent, but the problem here is the income advantage + Von Bolt passive 10% atk/def spells doom for Olaf.
I think a couple of mistakes lost kilmefirst the match here. First of all, that artillery. There are no good spots for artillery here, and the long distances really don't help. Secondly, Kilmefirst overextended twice. First when trying to take that comm tower, and the when trying to cap those two cities. This created the perfect environment for Rip to attack, turning it from a long, defensive battle into a strenght-on-strenght slugging match, in which Rip would always come out on top due to his day-to-day.
yeah, I do actually want to see a rip_ game! I only play fog, and I love rip_'s ability to use transports. Ive been combing your back catalog looking for as many rip_ games as possible
"Next Advance Wars game" Warside, Tiny Metal, Athena Crisis, Aniwars, Kaiju Wars, Lost Frontier, Wargroove, Warbits+ and Empires Shall Fall all collectively sneeze in background. Heck, I would be even willing to bet that reboot of Gadget Trial and Girl's Frontline version will all arrive before next Advance Wars. The Reboot Camp could have been a so cool... If they actually kept the Wayforward anime style for the actual units and maps as well. Instead of that strange, childlike cartoon style. u _u
Hey Mangs, Just found your channel yesterday, im loving the videos so far. Not sure if you've done this in the past already, but I'd love to see videos with real time commentary as you're playing. I know you do a lot of reply reviews, but I think knowing how you think exactly in the moment and seeing your real reaction would be super interesting and entertaining
he popped super first, and at the end of the turn, barely edged in value and unit count while being 6k behind in income, and Ex machina lurking in the corner game's already over at that point lol. Would be funny to see if rip could've won without using his COP at all, because it sure as hell look like he could have
Hmmm curious how this probable meta shift will play out in the long run. If aggro tank is the country, how long will it take until players hedge their bets and go "F it, I go tanks and march right in", rolling up their opponent and we end up in a somewhat aggro tank meta for a while, then have a revival of the transports and so on and so forth...
18:10 rip moved the tcopter to gain vision of the arty. Since there had to be something in the forest due to Killemefirst's formation. I don't think shielding the AA or the infantry to the side had anything to do with it.
I am not a strong player by any means but i knew Rip would win just by looking at the COs. I dont know who decided moving von bolt a turn was ok but it definitely isnt. Just look at the tanks vs tanks engagements kilmefirst did. Global damage can only go so far
I want to see more games where a player is 6 (or more) cities behind for several turns without resigning. I mean he killmefirst ultimately did resign, but he fought on for several turns.
Rip could have sacked his Recon to deny the com tower on turn 10. On turn 11, Killmefirst attacked with 0 direct units, destroyed 0 units, and did 0 HP of damage which got the bonus of the tower. If Rip sacrificed his recon, it would have saved his other units a collective 0 HP. Yeah maybe not using the recon to interrupt was the right idea.
I wonder, it's been a long time since I've played the cart version of AW2, but I've been playing an emulator of it this year, and can boost with transports 🤔 guess now I'm curious if it actually wasn't on the cart, but was for whatever reason added into the emulator versions Either way, I never want that mechanic to go away XD
Bro why are they called landers when they're in the sea?
Sears was taken.
Why is Eagle an air unit CO, when the eagle has landed? 🦅
why are cargos called that when they are ships and shipments called that when they are cars?
@@remixtheidiot5771 🤯
Why are they called mechs when they’re mostly comprised of flesh and blood?
if you end the cap phase down 4K, you're gonna have a bad time
"The next Advance Wars Game"
Mangs being VERY optimistic after the thud that was the remakes of 1 and 2
I think he was refering to warside.
Wayforward has pretty much guaranteed we will never see a wars game again.

15:58 Legendary return of one lander policy
Dangs is full-steam pro transport meta now 🥚
On this map, a lander is very strong, i think. Movement of 6 tiles is just enough to move tanks right into the middle in each
1:00 Rip_ has built exactly one lander. This is a literary technique known as foreshadowing
It's almost as if he built that BM lander knowing this video will be made xD

You could already see the end result when Olaf's sole strength failed to put any dent in Rip's army.
Loving the consistent AWBW uploads :)
Bro has more W’s than the World Wide Web.
Is this Langs? the Lander Mangs?
Does that means Mangs abuses Langs?
Langs, waive if you need help.
I really hope competitive Warside ends up being this much fun to play/watch.
Will be harder to setup matches. I spoke with the devs you will only connect from player to player
Also currently win conditions are limited to total unit destruction which draws out games

That Arty showing up out of nowhere feels like the straw that broke the Olaf's back.

But for Real, dear god Rip is scary jesus

Lovely match, but the pain Olaf had to go through 😢
I hate attacking into VB even as VB in the mirror 😂
Mangs pleeeeaase. The 3 "your turn" notifications are killing me
Its especially interesting how many missiles he's built. Only 8.

Plz cast more rip games
So you can say that this was a rip_lay analysis
So I guess this is what Rip is doing between seasons.
