- I have covered every aspect of the Ford Focus ST but I have never revealed its secrets. Here are 9 I found informational. Which secrets did I miss?

What secrets did I miss?
Maybe some people aren't aware of how to tilt the sunroof? At first I wasn't aware of how to do that until I did it by mistake LoL. Also the pen holder in the glove box is actually a valuable feature so you dont have to scramble for one that rolled back into the depths. What else... Maybe some people aren't aware that on some models the headlights swivel around turns at night? Pretty neat but you've probably mentioned these all before. Take care!
Oh and if your key fob dies and cant start the car, you can place it at the bottom of the center console and the car will pick up the RFID signal and be able to start. Also the hard key is inside the fob for the door maybe some dont know this... maybe Im wrong but also for the annoying double honk if you leave the car with it running, while you have the key with you... I guess you can hold the key against the window while you close the door and it won't double honk if you are leaving early for work and dont want to upset the neighbors
You missed the unique owners manual, the ST octane academy thing, the center console compartment has cutouts so you can close it and have wires come out still, the cup holders trays that flip to change height for your drink, you also missed the test mode for the instrument cluster, the slit in the center console compartment that you can plug an SD card into, the hidden key inside of the key fob, the ST is also one of the few cars at the time that ford would allow all 3 vent modes on at the same time, and as an added feature that some people may not know it is only a focus but it has one touch up and down for all 4 windows. That’s just some of the things I could come up with. Haven’t been in my car because of this CoRoNa ViRuS StAy At HoMe shit

I have had a Focus for 5 and a half years and just learned that the seat cushion in the back folds forward. I would always get so annoyed that the seats couldn't fold forward. I know this is satire but I genuinely learned something useful lol!

And now I’ll tell you some things you didn’t know about your car. Tap the start button without hitting the brake to go into auxiliary power, then hold the OK button on the left side of the steering wheel for about give or take 7 seconds, and then start the vehicle while still holding the OK button. Keep on holding it until the gauge screen reads “TEST” and then scroll through your test menus and have fun! Test menus include exact engine RPMs, intake temperature, and testing gauges, the screen, and the chimes. A second feature applies to all vehicles with SYNC3. Make sure your audio is on, and then hold the right skip button on the wheel and on the center control stack until a speaker test starts. If this does not happen and your car is equipped with a CD player, hold the eject button and the right skip button on the center stack until the previous result. After doing either of these methods, select “End Test” and then tap on the “Theme” tab, where you can change your screen to the screen of any other ford with sync 3. Examples: Raptor, GT, GT350R, Blacklabel. Although do not select the themes with the random letters and numbers, they will lag the screen heavily. One last thing you can do is use voice commands and say, “I’m hungry.” The car will then direct you to nearby restaurants.
Weird question but I'm looking at getting a focus st and the one I'm looking at has the square to the left of the grill just like the one in your pfp. All the ST's I've seen does not have that, do you know what the square is because I really have no clue what it is. Thanks!
@@brufen375 that square is a cover for where you attach a tow hook to tow from the front of the vehicle. I looked it up and apparently most ST’s have it, some don’t. I would guess an aftermarket front bumper means it wouldn’t have it.

I adore this video! I've had my ST (3) since '14 and it's seriously the most fun car I've ever had (weird for me to say about a FWD). I didn't know the back seats popped up as you demonstrated until now! I wish there was an easy way to pop the seats out, but beyond that I can't complain. Props to the "carrying your company on your back" line... I truly LMFAO! Great stuff!

I really super annoyed by the rear seats not laying flat after purchasing the last US model, the 2018! Didn't think anything could possible annoy me about this car, until I realized the seats didn't lay down flat, lol. Thanks for showing me that the bottom of the seats unlatch! I would never have known!

I have ambiant lighting in my 181 focus but dont have an ambiant thing in my settings display so how do i change the colours inside
I found 'retro' mode on mine and it turned into an '06 5 pot with 143,000 miles on it. Cannot reset it. Any suggestions?
So having the ST in track mode still turns off traction control ? what is the different in sport mode on and track mode on ? I have the 2016 ST3, just got month ago
My 2014 focus I just purchased is an st3 and has the sony infotainment system. But it doesn't have a back up camera. Is that typical for the year?

I read you either have the controls where you do above your head or it can be a setting in the sync 3 system I’m pretty sure mine doesn’t have it I’ll check tomorrow if not either it doesn’t have it or my sync 3 needs updating perhaps.

You forgot, that in the spare wheel well under the hatch floor, Ford actually gives you a funnel with your Focus ST. I always thought that was hilarious when I open up to check the spare's tire pressure and see it sitting there. " Oh yeah, you're down there if I need you"

Noticed your check engine light is on.. do you know what code you have up.. just bought a 2016 ST1 and had to replace an oversized intercooler that the previous owner had, now I my check engine light is on because of the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor. Not sure if any of that is correlated.

I would say it probably is. Lots more performance and will hold value pretty well over time since they already took their depreciation hit

How is tire wear in your ST??? If I do not rotate every 3-4000 miles my tires get scalloped on the inside edge. It was explained to me that the reasons the tires are wearing like this is the way they alignment is set up for spirited driving. I do not really drive too spirited and was wondering if you have the same issue. I have almost a brand new set of 1200 dollar tires that make the basketball bounce sound as you are driving. Yes tire pressure and alignment have always been spot on.

I’ve got a 2017 st2. I’d really recommend it over st1 if you can swing it. The features it adds are well worth it IMO.
IDK SK8 I have a 2018 ST1. Love it. I’m sure the add ons for ST2 are awesome but since I got mine brand new it wasn’t worth the extra price from a dealership.

I get that this was mostly you joking around but I seriously had no idea the rear seat bottoms lift up so the floor can be flat. Unless thats a ST3 thing, I have a ST1.

Unfortunately there are many people who do not take care of their cars and abuse them as if they were toys,I take care of mine and it is a 2013 St2 and no problems at all they are very good and strong cars I really like mine 👍

Just out of interest how many miles does your ST have and has it been reliable/any common issues? That goes for anyone else in the comments, would appreciate of your experiences.
I'll be upgrading my BMW 2011 325d in just over a year and kind of want to move to petrol. I'll also be keeping it stock for reliability.
My commute is going down a bit from 1000 miles per month to around 700 + I'll be away a bit more as well so general monthly fuel will be similar to what it is now.
By all accounts they seem to be fairly reliable, but what sort of milage is the best time to get rid of it? I haven't had a petrol car for any length of time so does the clutch need replacing more often maybe? Those fancy Xenon Lights movement mechanism reliable? Should I aim to buy one and get rid of it before 60k miles maybe?
I find very mixed answers on forums, some love them, some guys have had their engine blow after 30k miles😅
