I hade ST mk2, amazing car and sound, I miss it
Driving peasently 1.6 diesel variant of mk2 (with a bit of handywork and tuning). To be honest, I think the platform itself is fun to drive, and simple enough to just fiddle with it myself. More horses are appreciated, but that car feels fun to drive even with less horses than ST/RS variant. Bunch of more powerful cars feels way more boring than this.
Glorious 90hp 1.6
@@victorie2177 Not anymore, more like 150
@@ctrlaltdel02 how's reliability been after the tune? I've got the 1.6d too but in her volvo S40 counterpart and have been thinking about giving her a stage 1 tune. And, yeah, for what it is, it's a very nimble car and the 1.6 is a rev happy little engine. Makes for a very fun combo :'D
@@dragonsoldier187 So far everything good. Have some wear on stock camshaft (as it is factory defect), little bit more noisier of that, but still good enough to drive. Have some suspicions on injectors, because soot readings are going up in the last yearly checkups, but that can be other causes too (most likely bunch of them summing as it is mostly 300k+ stock engine), other than that, no problems at all. Regarding ecu remap don't have any complaints jet. If you are more interested, I can write more about how it is going and what mods I have made to car.
@@dragonsoldier187 I also have a Volvo (V50) with the 1.6d as a daily driver. Currently it's done 302.000kms and still runs well, has a tune and removed the DPF.
Finally a video with the same car as mine!! 🥹🥹
Been waiting for this! Thanks Misha! 👍🏻
Marcus Gronholm drove one of these nearly to victory twice, only guy to push Seb Loeb.
