Fin Williams i've always had an interest in trying to make one for myself. It would be awesome to see what two guys who own a music shop and guitar company would do with them. hope they see this!
The Production Department should get a raise! These videos have turned the corner and should be very close to Full Length Films. Love the middle... Bea...
I think you guys have reached the point for many viewers, myself included, that we tune in just to see what you get up to next regardless of the gear you're showcasing. Akin to Top Gear, the subject matter is secondary to the presenters. We tune in because we enjoy your company, like old friends. Cheers Guys, keep up the great work. Mind the Mermaids !
All PRS guitars coming out of the Stevensville Maryland factory get tested through one of Carlos Santana's old Mesa Boogie amps. I always thought that was so cool :)
Back when I first started playing (and was, and still am, obsessed with Carlos' playing), the cheapest Santana guitar available was the Santana III. The first one I picked up started my love affair with PRS. It was something else! Just cost about £3K! Wish these existed back then. Great video!
Adam Lee So you would rather a cheap guitar made in Asia out of shit Mahogany and cheap Asian hard-ware over a REAL PRS !?There is NO accounting for taste I guess ...
Deathrape2001 Not an expert in wood I see. That looser grain Mahogany is lighter and thus CHEAP! Watch the video again as they specifically mention it! I DO NOT LOOK FOR A TONE FROM MY LAPTOP. It's a laptop, I get a new one every year. Perhaps I was not clear in my original post (my bad). I consider a REAL PRS guitar anything pre 2010 as I have said on many an occasion in these threads. My year 2000 custom 22 (hard tail) vintage Yellow for example ... If you can show me an Indonesian made SE that comes close to it for $500 I will give you my guitar! I have 4 PRS guitars the latest year is 2008!
DamageIncM Everyone has to sell out to an extent, that's the whole reason you see bands with merchandise. Someone offered to make a product, and they accepted. But, there's two levels of selling out. There is selling out to make a living, then there is John Cena Cereal Box selling out
+tyu hji I think it's selling out when the endorser doesn't like or even use the product, or has to have it modified to a great extent in order to do so.
I think this and the earlier SE standard review go to show that nowadays a guitar doesn't have to be obscenely expensive to sound good. That, and PRS makes some incredible guitars.
I love to listen to the captain play. It doesn't matter if he's playing lead or not. His tone is amazing. I'd take feeling over notes per minute any day.
I have the normal SE version of the Santana and i don't think i have ever played a Santana song on it. I just fell in love with it in the store and it's just a great, simple, all out rock machine! I have had it for about 3-4 years and it's my favourite guitar i have ever owned. So yes, you can buy one of these as a non Santana fan and shred the living hell out of it
Yesidoplaytheguitar I have one too and it's delicious.... really nice for Tool, Soundgarden, Rage sounds as well as beautiful bluesy and psychadelic sounds. It's just a fantastic guitar
God damn, both your guys' playing was on point in this video. I swear Mr. Lee, you had some Cream era Clapton flowing out your fingers. And Chappers, before the "I'm a shredder" comment, that was some kind of playing I've never heard from you before. It was glorious. Captain Lee, I may have to go spin Disraeli Gears now because of you!
One of the greatest tales I've ever heard. It should definitely go into writing, the chronicles of chappers & capt: volume 1: the sneaky white rhino...
A little fun fact about Sanatana, he gave the idea for the name Boogie in Mesa Boogie, because he heard an mesa amp and said 'that boogies' or something to that effect lol.
Always love you guys demos. I was surprised and a bit disappointed how disorganized this one is. Chappers is more grungy than usual. I didn't think that possible but I guess it is. He still sounds good when things aren't all bonked up. Tighten up guys.
You guys panned the audio to the ears opposite of how they are sitting. I must say the look of confusion on my face must've been awesome as i tried to match up your hands with my eyes and ears.
I'm almost positive Rob said they were going to change the opening theme music?? I was just thinking how these videos have become a little 25 min treat and that this music is like the opening of one of your fave shows on tele. Changing the music might be a bit of buzz kill at first for old timers set in their ways, like me, but I reckon the young kids will take it all in stride. I'm not pre-registering a complaint as much as saying the theme music currently gives me warm feelings about one of my fave shows:-)
sick tones you got there Rob! i noticed you have been using the 100W archon alot in this last videos, It would be awsome if you could do a video comparing this one with the 50W archon
The tone you're getting out of that guitar is just insane considering the price. We don't get many PRS around here so i've never had a chance to even touch one.
Only the Santana Standard is on almost all the video. I wish to hear only PRS Santana Special through all the video !!!! Hi from Mexico. Keep on rocking guys. t(-.-t)
Is the SE Standard line only in Europe? I've never seen one in my area (Tampa, FL.) The PRS 2015 catalog doesn't list them, and they're not listed on the PRS website. Musician's Friend has a page for the PRS SE Standard but shows it as unavailable. I have a PRS SE Custom 24 and I love it, so I love the concept of a "no frills" SE.
LOL..he looks to the left as he did that riff flurry;as if to say..top that one. Funny. That guys a great guitar player. What are the differences in these PRs usa guitars by price point and styling? I'm looking to get one one day;but i don't like locking trems;so which one is for me;if i don;t want the 8k usa dollar models? I don't like the Se models either. I like purple/blue,and intense Red colors;so which one would you recommend?
Great demo guys, love it! Are you going to do a demo for the new EVH Wolfgang WG Standard guitars, i would be very interested in them. Keep up the good work.
tjazzmuzik It's a £300 guitar it can not sound good. It is the PRS Archon that is doing the work. Now get a £300 Peavey combo and put these guitars through that. Another clown sucked in by the chap-con-man, will it never end!?
+tjazzmuzik The answer to your question is "YES" a good friend of mine "Viresh" owns 'sound monk' who are the PRS dealers in Mumbai ... I have tried all the S2's and SE's he has in stock. So if you are going to try and convince me that one made in Indonesia out of cheaper materiasl is better ... all I can say to that is "best of luck" as you are going to need it!
Sounds like someones been to Whimsydale, unicorns and mermaids!! did you hit a treasure Goblin Rob? (Diablo III ref for those who think ive lost the plot) lol great vid tho and those there geetars look mighty nice love that sustain.
Hey I have a question. I have the Roland Blues Cube and I want a drive pedal for it, but I know SS amps don't usually accept pedals that well. I was looking at the EHX Soul Food to use over a clean channel. Do you think it'd be worth it? Or is there a better drive pedal for SS?
kingstumble It's ultimately all personal, but my valve amps take pedals far better than my ss. They operate on different principles so it's not a leap to say they will handle pedals differently. But then, it's all just noise, and if the noise you get tickles your ear better than the noise I get, you turn that noise UP y'hear
Carlos played mahogany/P90 guitars on the first two albums and at Woodstock. An SG and Les Paul special, very similar to these SE's. Diehard fans consider this the definitive Carlos sound (not LP custom, not PRS.) Discuss;) Lee and Chap: why are there no import guitars that use Nitro lacquer? I don't mean the Tokai faux-nitro overcoat that wears off :/ The obvious answer is that it takes too long to cure, fine, but there are those of us who would gladly pay a little more to have a much better sounding guitar. Interesting - I had a chance to ask PRS himself this question and he essentially dodged it, "what's wrong the (SE) finish?!"
I wish you would put Rob behind the camera and turn Bea loose. At least he can play different ranges and styles of music.Rob always goes back to his screaming squealy hard rock every time and doesnt do the stuff justice.Just makes everything try to sound like HIM.Don't get me wrong I like some of his stuff but damn....
mikeylikes063 What this guy said ^^^Rabea, is a better guitar player no contest and that is why he is the lead guitarist in the band "Dorje" a band that the moron wanted to call the "Rob Chapman band" ... and then he heard all the stuff Rabea could do and re-though the entire idea. Oh the comedic value is killing me ...
You guys should do a video where you both buy one of those DIY guitar kits, and see whos comes out best.
quality idea
Fin Williams i've always had an interest in trying to make one for myself. It would be awesome to see what two guys who own a music shop and guitar company would do with them. hope they see this!
That's a great suggestion! I've been looking at kits myself! Would be great to see Rob and Lee go at this challenge!
This is a GREAT idea....
Corey Wingate Amazing Idea
It is quite impresive watching lee play the guitar when he is in his confort zone, good job lee, love your playing
Captain's playing/ tone were just incredible this video. Love it!
Steven Chabot Yeah, the clean tone in particular was sweet.
+Steven Chabot Sucking up is not a good lot Laddie.....
shame the chappers is there to ruin it
The Production Department should get a raise! These videos have turned the corner and should be very close to Full Length Films. Love the middle... Bea...

I would agree 100%. However, I prefer it when they are meandering around Anderton's and goofing around.
All PRS guitars coming out of the Stevensville Maryland factory get tested through one of Carlos Santana's old Mesa Boogie amps. I always thought that was so cool :)
PRS is killing me, as soon as i have been satisfied they release something else i must buy
The P-90 version sounds sweet as pie. I'm not a PRS fan but that guitar is very nice :)
Back when I first started playing (and was, and still am, obsessed with Carlos' playing), the cheapest Santana guitar available was the Santana III. The first one I picked up started my love affair with PRS. It was something else! Just cost about £3K! Wish these existed back then. Great video!
Love your videos covering pop songs!!!! True legend 😎😎😎
That's super kind, Daniel McCarten - thank you so much! :)
Hey, nice videos, Adam Lee! Cheers!
Adam Lee So you would rather a cheap guitar made in Asia out of shit Mahogany and cheap Asian hard-ware over a REAL PRS !?There is NO accounting for taste I guess ...

Lee for the Top Gear vacancy !
Would love to make a Top Guitar program!
Haha that'd be great though
DamageIncM Everyone has to sell out to an extent, that's the whole reason you see bands with merchandise. Someone offered to make a product, and they accepted.

think that's the best I've heard Lee play!
I think this and the earlier SE standard review go to show that nowadays a guitar doesn't have to be obscenely expensive to sound good. That, and PRS makes some incredible guitars.
I agree, they look top quality for the price!
Atul Lasrado From all here in the 1st-World, thank you slave-labor!
primeDecomposition Slave labour? Have you seen the factories where the SEs are made? Rob uploaded the videos earlier, go check them out.
I love to listen to the captain play. It doesn't matter if he's playing lead or not. His tone is amazing. I'd take feeling over notes per minute any day.

Someone once asked me ' who is the lead guitarist for Santana'... truestory
Carlos Bailey or with a very strong guitar. That the culture of rock would be slammed into his brain
Mmmmm. We'll use a jaguar. Those things are made from indistructable god-ste
Jesse D Hahahahhaahahha really! Hhahahaha what the fuck.
Someone once asked me, who is The Pope? Does he live around here?
Seeing the cap start the video on lead is pretty awesome! More please!
Oh man, your video editor is well versed in comedic timing. I laughed out loud when Chappers felt the neck on Captain's guitar, and the honk sounded.
I have one... and is amazing for the price, amazing sound, amazing neck, absolutely confortable. Happy, happy, happy.
Carlos Santana insperied me to play
That was maybe the best thing i've heard. Eargasm!!!!
God damn, both your guys' playing was on point in this video. I swear Mr. Lee, you had some Cream era Clapton flowing out your fingers. you two are the bananas,!!!! very entertaining!!!
Damn everyone's playing is so tasteful in this one!!!
Sounds great!!! Your video's are so cool, and very Nice sounding!!!
lee such a great player so much feeling and emotion
what are you on about
sound great, and agree that those PRS hum buckers sound great!!
as a first time commenter these guitars sound mwah!
Wows, those sound amazing.
Would love to see both of you do a video on Michael Kelly Guitars.
In my opinion also a lot of bang for the buck!
Haha Robs face at 12:06
He thought: "Yeeeah! Feedback!!!"
You guys panned the audio to the ears opposite of how they are sitting. I must say the look of confusion on my face must've been awesome as i tried to match up your hands with my eyes and ears.
A fantastic interlude!
Woodeso's Guitar Mods I've been here since the first video, they used to all be long and have different intro music, i look forward to a change!
what is the name of the opening theme song ?
After all by Red Tower
Certainly my next guitar (the one the Capt is playing, lovely).
hey hey... sustain with a gain on 10, always is eternal
sick tones you got there Rob! i noticed you have been using the 100W archon alot in this last videos, It would be awsome if you could do a video comparing this one with the 50W archon
THE BANTER!!
Note that the Santana SE has a maple top with a curly maple veneer. You get the full maple on mahogany tone.
The tone you're getting out of that guitar is just insane considering the price. We don't get many PRS around here so i've never had a chance to even touch one.
I love the akward moments every video lol but love see you two together each diffrent aspect ;) keep the good vibes 420 ;p
Lovely jamming at 22 mins you two.
lol, love some of the edits in your vids, Rob xD
These PRS guitars sure like those harmonic-sounding vibratos.
Can't believe they are only £399! They sound and look great! My next guitar will be either one of these, a Les Paul studio or a chapman ML2
That white one was so nice.
Only the Santana Standard is on almost all the video. I wish to hear only PRS Santana Special through all the video !!!! Hi from Mexico. Keep on rocking guys. t(-.-t)
I have this guitar, it does not disappoint!
I've had mine for a few years. I love it. I just wish they had a hardtail version.
Can't unsee the unicorn on chappers' shirt
Lee, you are sounding awesome man.
I called it!
Oye Como Va!
Mi ritmo!
I read in a PRS forum that they should be available later in the year.
KEWL! I can't wait to try them out
its about time chappers and the capt mention santana in a prs video. i was starting to get worried it would never happen
You can get Se245 pickups fairly cheap on Ebay. Lots of guys replace them with higher priced pickups and sell the 245's on....
I really want one now! I have the SE Santana with a quilt maple top and one of the P90 models would make a great extra option to have next to mine.
P90s are the best all round pickups. I love em!
My class had to play this in Music Technology BTEC for Music Around The World :)
The little Monologue was funny XD
These new Standards have a really impressive vocal quality to them.Think I'll have to get one before they put the prices up!
LOL..he looks to the left as he did that riff flurry;as if to say..top that one. Funny. That guys a great guitar player. What are the differences in these PRs usa guitars by price point and styling? I have PRS pickups in my homemade superstrat with Warmoth pieces, and they sound amazing also :).
On that note does Mark Tremonti use a tremolo to trill his tones tightly?
Carlos Santana is one of the best guitarists to ever pick up an axe.
Great demo guys, love it! Are you going to do a demo for the new EVH Wolfgang WG Standard guitars, i would be very interested in them. Keep up the good work.
You're gonna have to sample that "Ooh!" sound for future videos!
that tone is very close to Santana tone... nice job
Banter ftw!
jesus christ that sustain!
Damn!! Those guitars sound good!
tjazzmuzik It's a £300 guitar it can not sound good. It is the PRS Archon that is doing the work. Now get a £300 Peavey combo and put these guitars through that. Another clown sucked in by the chap-con-man, will it never end!?
I've played them back to back with other cheap and expensive guitars. They are brilliant! Pickups are immense.
Abraham Nazi.Goldstein have u played one?
+tjazzmuzik The answer to your question is "YES" a good friend of mine "Viresh" owns 'sound monk' who are the PRS dealers in Mumbai ... I have tried all the S2's and SE's he has in stock.
So if you are going to try and convince me that one made in Indonesia out of cheaper materiasl is better ... all I can say to that is "best of luck" as you are going to need it!
yeah i like the trem tail piece models as well;but no locking trems.
sound nailed!!
Did you kill the battery stealing mermaid, or escape from her fins of fury?
I wanna go pub hopping with this guys!!
Could you guys possibly do a demo/review of some Rick Turner guitars? I would love to hears your guys thoughts on those!
13:13 ahahah BEST THING EVER!
Why is this Santana Special P90 available only in the U.K.? Can't find them anywhere else, and they aren't on the PRS website.
You should do a versus video of all mark tremonti's signature PRS now that he's got 4
Sounds like someones been to Whimsydale, unicorns and mermaids!! did you hit a treasure Goblin Rob?
(Diablo III ref for those who think ive lost the plot) lol great vid tho and those there geetars look mighty nice love that sustain.

The Soulfood is a Great Pedal , but also consider the OD Glove
by Ehx , it,s very versatile !!
Maybe a bit more than the Soul Food!
It's true that solid state amps don't take pedals as well as tube amps do, but nevertheless the Soul Food is a great pedal no matter what
It's a fallacy that SS amps don't take pedals well. Why wouldn't they? I have a cheap Vox DA5 at home and with a Zendrive in front it's a superb sound.
kingstumble
It's ultimately all personal, but my valve amps take pedals far better than my ss. They operate on different principles so it's not a leap to say they will handle pedals differently.

Whoever edits your videos (maybe chappers himself?)... he(or she) is having a lot of fun doing it^^ lemme give an example: 7:57
17:40 great tone cap! very robbie krieger!
I love the pickups and neck on the normal PRS SE Santana, but I find the body don't sit right while you sit down and gets annoying to me personally.
Does Andertons carry the prs Zach Myers signature?
is that a riff from somewhere @ 18:00 or is that just random? i know that from somewhere but i dont remember from where :
doesn't Santana use like 100 feet of cable or something? That would be like rolling the tone control back!
i love both rob and lee playing styles, but i gotta say that none of them could nail the latin feel for a santana guitar demo :P
Please do a review of the Prs Se Zach Myers signature
Ariba Ariba, good video
But are the tones more amp related or guitar related .
You are using quite high end amps
That story was quality 😂👌
i love p90s i think they are the best pickups and i play leed in a punk band and a blues .
They sustain that good because they're wrap around bridges
Aimless roundhouse kicks XD
Why don't I see those on the PRS website?
P-90 FTW!
Does anyone know where the PRS amps are made? USA? please no dumb answers.
So much want!!!
does it Djent?
