  • Hey all, I'm back with my very first test ride on a 2021 Honda Gold Wing with a manual transmission!
    Why did I pick the manual transmission for my first-ever ride on the legendary Gold Wing? Well, @Big Smitty Riding has the best intros on RUclips, and he rides a Gold Wing manual. I figured, heck, if Big Smitty's intros are the best, maybe his bike is the best too, and it was as simple as that!
    As I walked up to the bike I could only help think...."Honda finally got the Civic design right!" 😂😂😂 I'm just joking! We all know the Accord is probably a more appropriate comparison! 🤷‍♂️
    Anyway, Dad Jeans....ENGAGE!
    Until next week and some Gold Wing DCT goodness, you all stay safe out there!

    Excellent ride and review! Thank you very much for shouting me out. I really appreciate that. It's not a bike for everyone. I've owned a ton of different touring bikes and cruisers but this bike just is by far the best to me. It takes some getting used to and my biggest complaints are the lack of sound and that it doesn't have that V-Twin feel. And I've actually gotten used to both of those. But I'll tell anyone it's not a bike that most folks will love. Great job man!

      Thanks Smitty, and welcome to the channel! I’m glad I had the opportunity to take it for a spin and see what it was all about! It’s easy to see why a long time rider would love it - very smooth, comfortable machine! Just different! Keep those intros coming!

    Nice review...long time Gold Wing rider here. I have a 2018 6-speed and this model is by far the best Gold Wing Honda has ever made...except for the seat..I couldn't ride much more than 70 miles with the OEM seat, but RDL fixed that...with the RDL the bike is amazingly comfort on 1k mile days...the handling, brakes, transmission are awlsome....the suspension is on the soft side for sure, but you have that plush ride, and with over 100ftlbs of smooth torque at 1200 rpms along with upwards of 50 mpg even when pulling a trailer, there is alot to like with the Gold Wing.

    • @DMVSoloRider
      @DMVSoloRider  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Frank! I’m really surprised to hear that about the seat - seemed really nice in the time I was on it. Then again, you can’t tell much from test rides, or so I’ve learned. The seat on my old Chieftain was pure evil!!!

    I was going to get the challenger but i Took the goldwing for a ride and was set. But like you at first the feeling odd..i didnt gel good with the bike for some odd reason, but then i went on a long out of state ride and everything fell into place .
    I love this bike...mind you im that guy that said he will never buy a goldwing🤣

      Glad you found the right ride for you! I think that’s the right way to describe it - just didn’t gel on a first ride. But I’m sure if I had a chance to do some touring on it I’d get over that real quick! ✌️
